- I tried the "Gran Class", the most expensive first class seat on Japan’s Shinkansen bullet train.
Japanese bullet train comes in three classes; ordinary “Economy Class”, more spacious business class called “Green Seats”, and the most expensive first class called “Gran Class” complete with service by cabin attendants.
Gran Class is a luxurious and special first class that has been introduced only on the Joetsu / Hokuriku Shinkansen and the Tohoku / Hokkaido Shinkansen.
This time I traveled from Tokyo to Kanazawa on the former route called “Hakutaka”, but the latter is longer. So if you like long-distance train trips, I recommend you to try the latter.

I took this train three years ago! I was in the green car rather than Gran class. Kanazawa was so lovely too. When the train cleaning staff left, they all faced the platform and bowed at the waiting passengers.
I like to visit Japan. But i am afraid of the food. looks so strange.

@@lydiaderhake2532 of course it is wonderful but it takes a significant amount of time to blend in with Japanese culture. I've not been there but my friend lives there and he kinda faced that problems. But the people were very polite and helpful so he's doing just find now.

I hope you are well rested and enjoyed a satisfying meal. It was lovely to see your tiny traveling companion, Star Wars Business Storm Trooper. I also noticed the Trooper was guarding your beverage while you were enjoying refreshments in the View Gold Lounge before heading to the correct platform for boarding. I must say that the first class seats, "GranClass", in the Shinkansen bullet train 🇯🇵🚅, was quite impressive. The lounge available for the GranClass passengers to wait seems very peaceful. My kind of place. I love enjoying peace & quiet in a clean environment even though I don't mind being still in nature too. 😌
The Hakutaka really seems to fly like a "white hawk". So super duper fast and smooth. Did I see 212 mph/341 kph correctly for the speed of the train? Wow! I'm delighted to see the location of the GranClass is in car #12. The overhead compartments are truly like the ones found on most commercial flights. How cool! 😎👍🏽 The individual movable reading light and adjustable headrest are appreciated. People need to have a sense of space and privacy even when traveling especially if they paid good money for such accommodations.
Glad to see that you were treated like royalty while traveling. All of the refreshments looked divine. I thought the portions served during the light meal time was quite a bit. My tummy would be just fine with the portions provided however everyone's appetite is different and that's perfectly okay. 😌 Sir, what is Mugwort Poundcake? Looks intriguing.
I was hoping that the slippers would give your traveling toes some wiggle room. Perhaps the next trip the slippers might fit. 😊
Seeing the table being taken from the armrest as if pulling a sword from its scabbard was probably one of the most exciting parts of the entire video for me! That was super duper cool! 😃🗡
