I learned so much from this!

  • Hey friends... Following on from last month when I said I needed to be more 'strategic' with my personal monthly art challenges, and this might have been my best month so far.
Not because of the artwork I created - I didn't create much 'art' as I also left my palette behind when I went to the UK - but what I did learn from it will inform my art practice moving forwards.
I hope you enjoy this video looking back at my learnings from my June art practice. If you have any questions, please do ask away in the comments!
    Big hugs,
    Eve

Oohhh. Thanks for sharing your June challenge. I actually have the book but haven’t got round to properly read it yet. Which is why I love your way of using it as a monthly challenge to really immerse yourself and actually work alongside the author. Much better way to embed what you learn. I’m definitely going to go through the book the same way. Thanks so much!

Love that you describe your learning process, and your thinking during that process. It is much like I do things - switching between being a bit haphazard/experimenting, and by doing things in a well organized way.

This was a brilliant tutorial. Mainly, I enjoyed how you can take a book and make from it a lesson and a process for learning and expanding. I appreciate how you are able to create such solid content for yourself. It was delightful to watch your process. I realize I don't swatch enough and play with colour enough. So maybe my AUGUST Challenge will be just SWATCHING!
Thanks again for a delightful cogent presentation.

I have just bought this book but I will be using maimeri blu watercolours as they are all single pigments and my favourite one's apart from my A Gallo watercolours. I will start working my way through it

Sorry about the second comment. As a piece of information for you Quinn burnt orange is a well-known mix with ultramarine that was used by a very well-known artist who passed away at least several years ago. I wish that I could remember her name right now but I can't. I would however utilize the Quinn burnt orange and add the Italian burnt sienna it's different than the regular burnt sienna and it granulate as well❤ add someone who thinks that a alizarin Crimson is one of the most beautiful colors in existence I can honestly tell you that Daniel Smith's a Lutheran Crimson is much more luminous and true to the actual hue alizarin crimson. Although I have heard rave reviews about the M Graham a alizarin Crimson and I'm really hoping to get it as well as the Sennellier
