      Yeah, I have encountered this before. I think it happens when the Mac thinks that it has an OS still installed on it, but really, it's a clean installation. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a fix at this point. I know that it's an error though, because the Reinstall macOS app should never ask for a login when in Recovery Mode.

      Is Yosemite the highest possible OS for your iMac? If not, it’s recommended to upgrade to Mac OS X El Capitan.

  • @alwaysappleftd
    @alwaysappleftd  Před měsícem +1

    For everyone that’s experiencing the Apple ID sign in pop-up or the 403 error, I have finally found a potential fix. Do not get upset if this doesn’t work, as I’m only intending to help, not provide invalid information. Please try this and tell me if it fixed the error.
    You must upgrade your Mac to the latest Mac OS X version it supports. I have been able to fix this problem everyone’s having by doing that. Also, a person had success after upgrading. Here’s how I recommend doing the process:
    Acquire a USB flash drive. It’s usually better to use a 16 GB one or more.
    1, Google the top OS X version for your Mac. It may be El Capitan, or High Sierra. An example might be “What is the latest supported macOS version for MacBook Pro 2009”.
    2. Find the version, then download the DMG file, or if it’s High Sierra then download via the App Store. I recommend using Apple’s website. If you got the DMG, open it and drag the application into your Applications folder.
    3. Once the app is in the Applications folder, open up a blank Terminal window on the Mac. Open the Resources folder of the macOS app you downloaded. This can be done by right clicking on the application in Finder and selecting “Show Package Contents”. Open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder.
    Locate the createinstallmedia executable in the Resources folder. Type without the quotes “sudo [drag createinstallmedia executable here] -volume [drag USB flash drive here] -applicationpath [drag macOS Application file here]. Follow this command exactly, then press Enter. You will be asked to enter your Mac login password. Enter it. And do not worry if nothing shows up while typing it, as the sudo command doesn’t show any output. Wait for the process to complete. After it’s done, eject the flash drive and shut down the other non-working Mac. Insert the flash drive into the Mac, then press and hold the Option key before you hear the boot chime. Select the flash drive to boot and once you are fully booted you can continue the installation normally.
    I really hope this helps some people out!

    403 Error code I see no fixes are found

    • @alwaysappleftd
      @alwaysappleftd  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes. This error seems to be very common. There isn’t a known fix for it yet, but if one comes out, I’ll put it in the description. The bug is just on Apple’s side, so it’s challenging to fix.

      @@theimmortalsage5013 I researched the exact model I had, then I figured out what the latest IOS was for that particular model. I then found an install for that OS, so basically you have to find the old version of the OS and install that one, if that makes sense.

      Hmm. I know that that's an issue that arises at times. I have a feeling that it happens when the Mac thinks that it has the macOS still installed on it, but it's actually a clean installation. Unfortunately, I'm not currently aware of a fix for that right now. • @alwaysappleftd
      @alwaysappleftd  Před 3 měsíci

      I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work. This fix is never guaranteed to work, as Mac OS X is a very complex operating system so there isn’t a one-fix-for-all. If you could provide any further info on what went wrong, I could maybe help further. But any of the 403 errors with Apple ID sign in aren’t fixable yet.
