I love love love Maxie! I never saw her until I started collecting vintage Barbie's as an adult...but I too love her realistic proportions compared to Barbie at that time...and of course, the 80's clothing is still my favorite! I think all of her friends were super pretty too!🌟
I loooove the 80's fashions ... When I start going back to the flea market I'm going to start looking for her friends, I like them a lot! Not enough to buy them online and pay shipping 😂 but would love to snag some for a few bucks at the flea market 😍
Wow ... I'm so surprised you featured Maxie. I loved this doll, I have several. I've got at least one of each of the friends. I have the basic dolls, some swimsuit dolls, and my favorites - "Cheerleader" Maxie, and Ashley. I've always want more but they went away so fast. It's too bad they weren't more liked. I love that the body at the time was a little more realistic, especially the larger hands and thicker arms. Well done.
I do like the realistic body of Maxie. Once I start visiting the flea markets and thrift stores again I think I'll keep my eyes peeled for some of her friends 🤞
😬I have an original complete Maxie doll, “Lookin’ Smart”, along with her boyfriend, Rob!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have her hair comb. Minty, no boxes. I don’t always care for the boxes; it really depends on so many factors, mostly related to the kind of toy item, doll or play set, and my taste for the item, for example, I may have one NRFB and a loose extra one, or multiples, just because I’m obsessed! They like to hang out with their pals, my JEM dolls, The Starlight Girls, and Barbie Skipper!!!!!!!! I keep all my doll hair pics stored in a plastic zippy bag - with my mostly ‘80s dolly accessories - inside one of a few vintage doll cases I own and love!!!!!!!!! YYYYYEEEESSSSSSSssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😬😀👍🏻
I had Slumber Party Maxie. I bought her at KMart in 1989 with birthday money. I still have her and her accessories, but I cut her hair. :( Since then I added Lookin' Smart Maxie and Catching Waves Maxie to my collection. I may get another Slumber Party doll at some point. I really love her commercials and I know they got my attention when I was a child.
I would have been too young for Maxie, but have heard of her. However, if I would have seen that commercial as a child, I would have been mesmerized by the pretty girl turning into the doll. It kinda gives you the feeling that you could be Maxie or something or at least buy her doll. I like that you are a fearless unboxer. It only makes sense. These dolls were meant to be open.
Barbie's "victims", like Maxie, were doomed because they couldn't wear Barbie's shoes. Moms didn't want to buy dolls that couldn't wear the shoes the kids already had.
Maxie and jem made by Hasbro in the 80's then Mattel made Barbie a singer and then came up a cousin of her name jazzie and ran them off the market by the end of the 80's
I'd never heard of Maxie before, I was born in 87. Her boyfriend's hair is certainly a look lol.💜 I love your 80's and 90's videos they either take me down memory lane or introduce me to dolls I don't know about.💜
So pretty! I really like the freckles, slightly more realistic body proportions, and flat feet! I've recently heard about Mattel's "Spectra" barbie doll and am obsessed... the sweet face of Maxie here reminds me of her some
What is really interesting about the Maxie commercials is that the actress that played the live action Maxie was Debbie in Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
I haven’t heard of maxie before, she’s pretty cute! She definitely has the same Barbie vibes, but more realistic. I love that she has minimal makeup and flat feet, because as much as I like Barbie,it’s definitely more realistic. It would be so cool if they brought these back, but modern!
I do not remember Maxie. I grew up in Canada just across from Detroit, so we went to the US for shopping often. Other than Barbie I had Sindy, a weird Taylor Tuesday who changed hair colour by spinning the top of her hard and a third doll with purple hair that I cannot remeber the name of. It is fun to research these old dolls I had forgotten about!
I had the maxie with the dress & jean jacket & her friend Ashley. Maybe my mind was warped from barbies smaller proportions but I always remember thinking her hands & feet were too big & kind of masculine. But looking at it now they seem fine.
Hi, would you mind putting theses in a playlist, that way it is easier to access as I love these videos but it’s rather hard to find all of the episodes. Thank you!💖💞
They are in a playlist already: Those 80's and 90's Dolls: czcams.com/play/PLg2UsjFed6nR6hrqOUgjN07EVuy8PX6Gw.html Looks like I might have missed this one though, I'll add it now.
I liked Maxie, never got one though I think they had one that had a hula hoop. Does anyone remember that line of dolls that was like s Barbie it wasn't Maxie but thru had princess ones ballerina's ,n there was a unicorn also I'm the set I have one doll n the unicorn
I remember seeing her locker playset in the Sears Christmas catalog when I was a young woman, and some cousins had one of her commercials recorded on a movie tape. I didn't know what to think of a real person bouncing around and pretending to be a doll. lol But I thought Maxie was more like a teenager than Barbie was.

Maxie is such an awesome doll! Thank you for watching 💜
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls I have been binge watching your channel. :) I wish I had found it sooner.
I loved that perfume scent on her!
Memories 😍😍
I love how you still have so many of your childhood dolls.
I'm so lucky I was able to convince my mom not to trash them 😂
I would have been too young for Maxie, but have heard of her. However, if I would have seen that commercial as a child, I would have been mesmerized by the pretty girl turning into the doll.

I like that you are a fearless unboxer. It only makes sense. These dolls were meant to be open.
All the old commercials are so cool! I'm glad you like the unboxing, it's always so fun 😆

Her boyfriend's hair is hilarious, kind of makes me want to find one. Thank you for enjoying these videos, they are my faves 😍

Ohhhh I have several Spectra dolls and am planning to do a video on them sometime, I love them 😍
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls omg yess so exciting 🤩
Never heard of Maxie but I loved her commercial. So cute!
She's a sweetheart, thanks for watching 💜
I had totally forgotten about Maxie but it all came flooding back. I remember watching her cartoon too.
I love taking a trip down memory lane 😍
She is so cute and lovely
😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 💜
What is really interesting about the Maxie commercials is that the actress that played the live action Maxie was Debbie in Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
They are gorgeous! I've never seen a Maxie doll before, I'm in Europe, so maybe thats why? Again thank you for your lovely and informative video's ♥️
Thank you so much for watching 💜
oh my, she definitely looks 80's. great review!!
Thank you for watching 💜

I agree...she's like a softer version of the Barbies of that era. Thanks for watching 💜
I do not remember Maxie. I grew up in Canada just across from Detroit, so we went to the US for shopping often. I've had a couple of those Tuesday Taylor dolls, they are definitely interesting 💜
I never had a Maxie doll. I was a baby when Maxie was in stores. Did you know there is a TV show called Maxie's World based on the Maxie doll?
I didn't! Very cool
I had the maxie with the dress & jean jacket & her friend Ashley. Maybe my mind was warped from barbies smaller proportions but I always remember thinking her hands & feet were too big & kind of masculine. But looking at it now they seem fine.
I think if I run across any of the friends at the flea market one day I'll grab them, thanks for watching 💜
💜NP :) I say it every time but I love this series! 💜

I think there was a hula hoop one....is the doll you're thinking of maybe Sindy?

I can definitely see her as more of a teen than Barbie!
If you look on CZcams they have a cartoon series I am getting the vive of Jem Holograph dolls from the eighties the face and make up
That is awesome, I need to check that! She does kind of have that same 80's Jem vibe now that you say it, I definitely see that
Maxie essentially was Jem's replacement at Hasbro. They even reused some old Jem props and face moulds for Maxie.
I don’t remember Maxie. My girls are your age and they didn’t have her. I’ll be keeping an eye out for her!! I especially like the one with freckles😍
I've never heard of Maxie, I don't think we had her in UK.
I wonder if she was just not popular enough to be exported 🤔
She’s pretty do the arms bend
Thank you! The arms don't bend, they just move up and down on the shoulder.
love you kinda but its like your SCREAMING AT THE AUDIENCE AND IN a VERY ANNOYING VOICE
I have MS and people with MS can't always control the levels and pitch of their voice. It's very ANNOYING when people like YOU point it out.
