  • Trying to get the exhaust routed for the turbo and wastegate. Not an easy task but I think I got a handle on it. Really tight where the tube goes down past the manifold and crossover tube. #c10, #hot, #stoutcustom

    Reminds me of my weekend running AN lines to an oil cooler around supercharger ducting. I haven't built a turbo setup but, I was thinking a V band on the down pipe just above the frame rail. Love the videos.

      Yeah I may have to do something like that. I’m sure there is a way. I was trying to work within the bends and lengths of tubing I had to make it work. Now that I see how it’s playing out I can order more parts and pieces to throw at it, lol. Thanks for watching!

      @@StoutCustom Keep up the good work. The adventures of custom work. We're ordering a couple more 90 and 45 degree AN fittings. Summit loves us. BTW I'm in Woodstock and the friend with the car is Acworth/Dallas.

      It’s 3.5” aluminized steel exhaust pipe. I think I bought a kit from summit racing that was meant to go back along the frame then up and over the rear end. I just cut it up and used what I needed. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Mr. Stout, what is that piece in the center of the wastegate connection? Is it something that gives a little flex?

    • @StoutCustom
      @StoutCustom  Před rokem

      Yes that’s exactly what it is. Keeps the “Y” (turbo output and wastegate output) from being completely rigid. Should give just a little wiggle room when connecting everything up and prevent cracking of the weak point where the wastegate pipe connects to larger pipe. 👍

      @@dannygeouge8459 called an exhaust flex pipe 1.75” x 4”. There is a link in the description of the video if you want to check out the details on Amazon. There is also one that is just corrugated without the woven wrapping on it.

    i'm no master fabricator or anything. looks like the turbo exhaust "could" work if it was straight back towards the firewall then 90 degree down? then again probably not since you didn't do it that way. ha!
    yup always got my safety glasses on. couple years ago I was sanding my frame with a wire wheel and a piece of metal got it my eye. i could hardly close my eyes to sleep at night. after a couple days of trying to get it out, ended up at the eye doctor and they had to shoot a needle in my eye to remove it. so yea... lesson learned

    • @StoutCustom
      @StoutCustom  Před rokem

      Yeah the pipe would be really tight to the engine if it went straight back and down. I was trying to get some of the heat away from the coils/engine. One thing I’ve figured out about building anything is I have to build it to know how I should have built it, lol.
      I went straight to the sink and washed my eye out. Then ran a magnet over it to see if it would pull anything out. Wasn’t sure if I got it out or not and was worried about ending up at the dr in a day or two like you. Luckily it must have came out at some point. Safety squints definitely don’t work, lol.
