    Hi there! I’m new to the channel and it’s all very interesting. I’m 52 & dabbled buying the odd sovereign in my early 20’s and remember paying £60-70! Late 90’s I bought a krugerrand for £215! That was the last coin I bought for a few year, but in 2006 I bought an oz gold Panda for £450 to commemorate the birth of my Son and couldn’t believe the jump from £215 to £450 for an ounce! I thought back then how far can it go.! How I wish I’d bought a few more 😅

    When gold was $350/oz in 2003, federal debt was $6.5trillion. Now it's $34.5trillion. Gold's roughly tracked debt. Critics say gold is high but never say anything negative concerning massive bloated U.S. stock market. Garbage like Apple and Nvdia worth more than entire UK economy. Is that normal? Gold is still cheap relative to the other lunacy, if you ask me.

      @@pa5482 Nvdia earns maybe $27bn on a $2trn valuation with an insane PE of 75. It's bloated garbage waiting to pop. It's worth more than most European countries. If it disappeared tomorrow, no one would miss it.

      I find it easier to value a business than I do to value gold using FCF or net income or other metrics but there are some metrics that suggest gold still isn't expensive.
      For some of the companies you mention the market is pricing in high levels of growth plus people are in some cases paying a premium because they want to own the stock. Perhaps for some people they feel good owning a certain stock a bit like the stacking equivalent of buying numismatic coins? 🤔

      @@SovereignSaurus in USD and GBP terms gold has gone up a lot in the last 1.5 to 2 months and I can't see it dropping as gold typically goes up when Interest rates drop which is rumoured to be in next few months . I have twice as much gold as I originally intended so it's not the end of the world lol

    as always a really great and informative video. If I may ask a question, what do love more the investment side or the sovereigns themselves. or is it 50/50

    • @SovereignSaurus
      @SovereignSaurus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Good question... I think there's just something special about sovereigns being a physical thing attached to so much history. When trading on the gold price it doesn't have the same excitement for me but is a more convenient way to benefit from changes in gold price

      It depends on your plan with gold, might we see lower prices again? Yes maybe, I have an interesting video coming out this week which should help. Also when I bought my first sovs at around £230 in 2018 there were a few people saying that they were waiting until they were back at £200... And prices never went that low

    I have some gold soverigns 2016 for sale in mint condition. Where can I get best sellers price? Atkinsons offer a good sell back price but I am worried sending them by Royal Mail. Pawn shop offered £375

    • @SovereignSaurus
      @SovereignSaurus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Atkinson's advertise a good price but it does vary. Also if they decide that one or two of the coins are not up to standard they will pay less so worth considering. You could likely get a higher price selling to other stackers but some platforms have fees to register or sell and you'll have a little more work to do too.
