Fun Fact, this actually was a mod called the Labrador Beaver. Both of them are based on the Argo Frontier 650 8x8 and the 4x4 version is based on the Sherp ATVs
It’s not *that* similar to the Sherp ATV other than the shape of the wheels; the Wydra is about the same size as a quadbike, whereas the Sherp is about the size of a car.
Can’t wait to test this thing against the DSC Scarab (mod)

tracked vehicles sure, this is giving me hope for smaller, one seater vehicles, like ATV’s and maybe even a motorbike in the far future.

A customizable player character would be even better, so I could make, for example, a racing driver style character, with a racing suit and helmet 😉
If it does happen, and then people started making working tanks on the repo, and then play a pvp on multiplayer, it's gonna be War Thunder but better lol

Something like the Tyco RC Rebounds come to mind.
I'd love to be able to tune the sensitivity on the steering, if find with my wheel it's either full locking one side or not turning at all, and when it constantly full locks then the clutch burns out

Never expected an official amphibious vehicle. I love amphibious vehicles but very few games implement them . I couldn't believe it when I saw muye's video I thought it was a mod . But no it's official added by devs.

FPU could also be the polish FSO but for utility vehicles as FPU may stand for "Fabryka Pojazdów Użytkowych" which translates to "Utility Vehicles Factory"

Fantastic, although the lack of driver/passenger models becomes more glaring than ever with this, but we just have invisible drivers here.
driver/passenger models in these vehicles would require an m+ rating. :P There are mods for what you want so just use them because i doubt you'll see actual ppl ingame from the devs

Note to people in the commenst section: just because the devs implement a vehicle that's similar to an old mod, that doesn't mean that they used/copied said mod, or even took inspiration from it. There's only so many ways you can design an 8x8 UTV.

New terrain deformation physics (Snowrunner) would work perfectly with this
if only bud, if only... the issue is that snowrunner/mudrunner actually fake all the terrain depth stuff in a very clever way(go read up on this, there's some good articles online that describe how they do this). the issue is that beam wheels aren't faked, they're real, so the fake terrain deformation wouldn't really work so well. would require a new system of some sort. It would be the perfect title though...
@@0xsergy Yeah Snowrunner is only for perception, definitely not simulation, but I'm just saying that having terrain deformation would put BeamNG at the top of off-roading simulators (and off-roading games in general)

@@clutch44444 Terrain deformation is years away. Will be a resource hogger for most people currently. Terrain deformation on a map the size of Johnson Valley will be even more demanding.

No it didn't, this is a completely different vehicle, designed by hand and built from the ground-up over the course of years. It literally shares nothing with that mod, other than being an 8x8 UTV.

@@EN07Z Of course the design will be similar, how many variations can you make to an 8x8 UTV? All of the real life designs are likewise similar. For the last damned time, the developers didn't put that stupid mod in the game. This vehicle is entirely separate, built from the ground up.

I think they were very inspired by the mod to do this
They sometimes take some mods and add it to the game like with the pigeon. The 4 wheel pigeon was actually a mod and now is part of the game

No, the only resemblance is that both this and that mod are based off of real UTV's, and you know, there's only so many ways you can design one.

I like how the BeamNG devs either copied with permission, or straight up bought the Labrodor Beaver model and rights or somethint since this thing is identical, even down to being amphibious. Only differences I can see are visual and thats it.

No offense, but this is an incredibly dumb take. The ONLY similarity between this and that mod is that they're both 8x8 UTV's, with the obvious amphibious capabilities that come with... being a UTV. You are aware that these vehicles exist and are popular in real life, yes? With that logic, I guess that the BeamNG developers must've gotten permission from every modder that ever made a supercar when they made the Scintilla.
The real brand that both of the models are probably based on is Argo. They make 8x8 amphibious ATVs and the giant wheels thingy aswell
Considering the brand name is FPU, it's more of a tribute to the user TrackPadUser (TPU) who made the beaver
