This provoked an inspection by environmental inspectors of the Burgas municipality. During inspections, no local sources of pollution were identified. However, the presence of significant amounts of dead algae in various stages of decomposition was discovered. The reason for the large number of dead algae is a dry and hot summer season with consistently high temperatures, in many cases above average, experts say.
