Firmware Update v4.04 introduces a Loop Capture mode, a SP-555 style looper - this, in conjunction with the Amp Sim and new Signal Generator, makes the SP-404MKII & a Guitar a lethal combination for live performances.

Coming from electronic music scene, it is so fucking frustrating to see 90 BPM figure on the screen all the time. Even if switching BPM detect off.
Would be great to see 140 BMP samples as 140's not 70!
Just to be able to tap BPM in INPUT SETTING and fine tune it, then make it your MASTER BPM clock would change everything in live sampling loops in a set.
And to be able to do the same thing in LOOPER mode.
Defalut BPM recording and importing settings are such a time consumer in my area of music taste.
Imagine to tap BPM in input settings for EXT. SOURCE, fine tune it if it needs it, and press REC. You got a perfect loop every time in few sec. already playing as a sample, assigned to pad ready to be messed with!!! HEAVEN!!!
Can someone someone also explain ENVELOPE MODES ( A-C2) in SOUND GENERATOR?!?!

I am not a master, just a regular guy good enough to play gtr in a band. Someone told me early on that a decent part of your practice time needs to be just ‘having fun’. For me that is usually just playing along to Spotify or radio. It’s the best advice I’ve been given musically as I am still playing for 40+ years. Sure I could have been a lot more technical … but I never would have stuck with it. You are never too old to start!

Love My 555! I still use it more than my mk2 purely for the loop capture. It’s always just shy of the length of time I need. I think the 555 sounds different from my other sps too but I might be wrong. Can’t wait to get this update sorted.

Dope, glad to hear them drums are getting a work out! The limit on the mk2 is the same as the 555 so sadly no advantage there. I don’t doubt the 555 has it’s own personality / sound to it. Cheers!

So I guess to stem out I can’t use the looper to get stems. I guess that means recording with Resample and Measure feature is the best way to get parts separate.
I love the Merge Pads feature. Finally we can stack samples without having to resample a bunch or use the link pads and resample. That’s so much faster.

Sold your Kemper! You prefer the tonex over that? That’s really interesting. I’ve had some fun playing gigs with the amplitube / irig with the Slash models.
@@Nonjuror I am taking a long break from gigging, but still play and record several days a week. I am lucky to have a bit of space and so still have and use 6 small tube amps (1 to 15 watts). Kemper and Axe fx3 were both fantastic, but I still mostly use my amp tone for recording. I don’t think Tonex is better than Kemper… but I do think with pedals you can get similar results for a lot less money… at least for that slightly overdriven tone that I use a lot.

With your looper and the sequencer video, it would be good to see if you found a way to quick assign the new loop to the first sequencer step (+ clear the looper for the next layer).
Feels like that might be missing currently. This would make it a multitrack looper!

Amazing jam and a great video! I am curious when you loop the drums from a bank on sp, if you mute the pads you played, does it omit them from the loop (like in patern mode) or does it keep playing regardless of changes made to the source pad?

Sort of related question: Can sample modes default to "Gate" off and "Loop" on? Been manually toggling these settings per pad, but wondering if there's a global option (so that after recording a sample or copying a loop to a pad, it's ready to use per my preference).

Playing with pattern sequencer and looper. Do you have issue where if you’re playing pattern, enter looper mode, and hit a sample, it changes the BPM of the playback to pattern?
Can’t find a way around it, not sure if it’s a bug or if I need to adjust a setting?
