  • Adam Han-Górski was born in 1940 in Lvov in the Hahn family. During the German occupation, he and his grandparents were sent to the ghetto in Jaworów, then in Kraków. In 1942, a two-year-old boy was took away from the ghetto by a friend of the Hahn family from Lvov, Katarzyna (Kazia) Chytry. She with her later husband, Jan Witz, hid Adam in their apartment until the end of the war, when his parents returned - they survived the Holocaust in the Soviet Union. After the war, Adam Han-Górski became a world-famous violinist. We present his account from the oral history collection of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
