Building a Phone Holder from Recycled Wood

  • In this video I used a piece of Tasmanian oak taken from an old cabinet and a blue gum tongue and groove floor board that I found at the side of the road to create a phone holder for myself. Tasmanian oak forms the sides of the holder and the centre pieces are made from blue gum.

      @@gehoalmdar2275 Hard to put in words, better if I could put in a diagram, but I will give it a go. The stand is 160 mm high by 75 mm wide by 100 mm deep. Looking from the side, the angle of the recline is 30 degrees at the top. The recline is 10 mm out from the back and the bottom edge of the phone recess is 40 mm above the base. The width of the phone recess is 15 mm. The phone holder was made to suit my Samsung S5 phone which is enclosed in an Otter Box protective case. I would suggest that you make the recess to suit the thickness of your phone plus 2 mm. I hope this is what you need to make your own. Thank you.

      It is 30 degrees at the top, 60 degrees at the bottom front edge and 90 degrees at the bottom rear.
