Me at the beginning, when I heard the first melody " This is it, Ben has finally lost it" Me listening to the end product " Ben you son of a gun, you did it again"
I like how you included the dry vocals. If I made this video, frankly, I would've been too embarrassed to put that in there, but how you incorporated it into the song was really great. That was probably the most inspiring part of the video for me.
There is a south indian percussion instrument called chenda which would be perfect for this track. It has a sharp tone rather than the round tone of the snare.
Thank you for basically making the Iglooghost tutorial we all wanted. Does anyone know what Reaper skin he uses if any? It might make Reaper actually usable for me lol.
Hey Ben. This is really cool, but I always wonder with these how long it takes to do? I try stuff like this, but often get frustrated about 40 minutes in when it's not turning out. That obviously comes with practice, but with the edited format it's also hard to tell if folks on CZcams are having those same issues. Thanks!
zaglamir i take breaks throughout the day and never work much more than 40 minutes at a time. 40 minutes is a very good amount of time to work before a break!
Could you please tell me which softwares you use (for producing the music, not for the videos) I really appreciate your work, both as a musician as an animator, i adore your style. Btw I own a MIDI keyboard, which, I guess, it's basically vital, right? Greetings from Italy
If you don't want to "sell your soul to the devil", you can look for samples on the internet. Recently, about 38 GB of public domain foley samples were released to commemorate a GDC thing.
@@crimsun7186 I've been doing that but whatever I find is not what I was looking for. Do you know a specific place where I can search for cheap/free samples/plugins?

Crazy how he goes from cheesy goofing around, and slowly you start to hear something coherent and, frankly banging!
You need to watch a bit of Andrew Huang and his "4 producers flip the same sample" videos.

"So, I didn't end up doing anything that strange with the sample," said Ben Levin.
Your videos keep getting better and better.

It looks like the Default_3.0 skin.
Reaper is awesome, it's just BYO VSTs. There's some decent tools and fx but you can't rely on the reaper synth.
there is so much freedom in here ❤
*Daughters wants to know your location*
I was thinking Sophie
Xiu Xiu
The bell and kick sounds have a cool Balinese gamelan vibe to them
It does end up sound inspired by iglooghost though!
Neat!
I immediately wanted to do a drum and base track with that sample 😏
Fry screams would be sick on this style of groove.

Mad scientist!
those screams :D

Hey Ben! Great video as always!
What is that reverb sound ? 9:45
Sounds cool
He opened the reverb plugin on what he called the "NIN beat" track and it defaulted to a pretty high value.
Basically a hihat with a ton of reverb.
The iglooghost part😂😂
sounds like death grips
