    want to give you a quick compliment. I have only just started watching thrift shopping/reselling videos. Most I turn off because the person I am watching is sort of irritating...for example: sits in a chair then can't manage to show the items because she doesn't have enough room...mumbles or won't complete sentences...spends more time checking her hair on her camera....silly stuff like that, but it is still irritating. You, however, are fantastic. You speak clearly, explain everything nicely, show the items you are talking about. You are fun to watch and not irritating! Go you!! I hope you do well with all the things you sell. I am not a seller and won't be, but somehow it is so fun to watch these videos (when the seller isn't irritating! hahahaha) Yes, I have so little patience...but what can I say?

    Goodwill outlet is a great place to shop. It can get a little crazy when people dive into the bins, but if you can tolerate that you can make a profit. You have great energy for what you are doing, obviously do your research, and it's good information.

      noslyguy lol, another you tuber I watch, that does Halloween tutorials, does a vid while he's out thrifting, and this is one of the stores he goes to, and omg, lol, he had to stop filming for a few, bc an actual fight broke out! His channel is Monster Tutorials, and he's amazing at making awesome videos, and he uses stuff everyone either has kicking around, or can easily get at thrift shops or on Amazon if someone doesn't have thrifts nearby.

    I've been doing flea markets for over 20years and eBay for about 14. You really need to check the actual sale value not listed value of items. That mickey mouse is worth $.99-$34, Rosetta stone $50-60 if everything is there and its usable, and the helmet $5-20 if you're lucky. Sometimes if you factor in the amount of time you have to research something to the actual net profit price it just isn't worth it even for $1.

    Do you have any videos on how to start doing what you do? I'm unable to work, but if I could do something like this on the side to help with my SSI checks every month, that would be great. Living check to check is really rough.

      There is work involved. One of the ladies who sells on e-bay spends hours going to thrift stores, she has a smart phone and checks out what prospective purchases are selling for on e-bay. Then there is the photographing each item multiple pictures, writing descriptions when listing for sale, packaging items for shipping,, keeping records, you will be paying tax on your profits,. In my opinion this constitutes work. There are costs of shipping materials.

    Just throwing this out there. I was told by a safety coordinator on a construction job. That hard hats have a expiration date there's numbers either on the bill or inside of the hard hat. Which I do believe he said all hard hats should be replaced after 10 years. So that hard hat that you have for sale or have sold is no good that's probably why it was in the Goodwill. Just saying

      One of my fav apps for ebay is "What's It Worth" and he says in description it's specifically ebay... What it does is shows you ONLY sold items, by category, and u can have it show u in sold price order, from most to least, or least to most, or by most recent, etc... He made the app, bc he is an eBay seller, and wanted something easier, for himself, and for other sellers. I love it, even tho I haven't sold on ebay in a long time! I've had it for years, but I know he made some changes not too long ago, that made it even better. Hope that helps. I'm on Android, so I'm not sure about iPhone tho.

      Amazon! I compare it like this eBay is like shopping at Walmart and Walmart prices and amazon is like shopping at the mall and mall prices. You just have the ability to sell for a higher price on amazon. but I also sell on eBay cause you cannot sell everything on amazon.

      @Margaret Hendricks~what's "funny" to me is why anyone would take pleasure in being snide or rude to another person who is confident, has a solid track record of doing exactly as she claims and is helping to provide a stable living for her family?! I find that not only funny/odd, but also quite mean spirited.I have a sign in my kitchen to help remind me; "Dear Lord, Please keep Your Arm Around My Shoulder And Your Hand Across My Mouth".Such a blessing for me to be reminded some days! May God bless you too.

    • @sassylady1098
      @sassylady1098 Před 6 lety +3

      Some of us who are retired or cannot work need extra money to get by - and this is a huge manner throughout the USA to get that extra money to survive. Many on SSI get only $750 a month (and who can live on that?) and for many, they do not get much more from social security. If you are in our situation, buying and reselling is the only way we can exist without being homeless or living in a rat hole. It only takes $500 to $1000 more a month to make a huge difference and if you work at this, you can make that -- but it's not a given and you do have to work at it.

      Keep in mind this stuff has been picked over already and is being sold by the pound. I find this a wonderful way to reuse and repurpose things that would end up in a landfill. What's tacky is the trash that people are currently buying new which has no longevity and will break and/or be thrown out quickly. If someone wants these items enough to look for them online, good for her to make them available. And it's a lot of work.

    • @sassylady1098
      @sassylady1098 Před 6 lety

      What do you say to those of us who are on SSI or have a disability that keep up from working? Or to those of us trying to live only on social security? SSI many times pays about $750 and social security is $1300 less insurance which is automatically deducted and can bring that figure down hundreds of dollars. Can you live on $750 or even $1100 a month? If you are able, you would want to find a way to make more income in order to make it. This buying an re-selling is the "job" that we do to try to survive, eat, and pay rent.
