    • @moonlight_oats
      @moonlight_oats Před 5 lety +13

Quick Fix because it’s so mis diagnosed young that about half of children have some sort of add/adhd. But there is a ton fewer that can function normally without needing much so just don’t say that they have anything. I can guess it’s annoying but when you compare children to adults the children beat them in numbers by far.

Yes unfortunately, even the most renowned psychological institutions misdiagnose ADHD as BD or BPD. Their first line of treatment is prescribing antipsychotics and anti epileptic drugs within first 5-7 mins of interaction with the patient. I mean, how can you just simply conclude about the disorder and prescribe long term medication within less than 10 mins of interaction.
      Sadly, that's what happens here.

I feel like this woman has never spoken to an adult with ADHD. Its not "oh I'm distracted because I haven't slept". Its handing things in late to work because you can't remember where you put them, pulling the whole office apart, frustrated because you swear you just had them in your hand. Feeling like crying in the middle of telling a story because you can never finish your sentences. Being so frustrated that you are shaking with anger because you can't remember what you were just thinking about 2 seconds ago and you swear it was important. Never being able to finish a thought in your mind let alone outside. Object impermanence - if I can't see it, its existence is completely forgotten by me until I see it again. Yes it can be something very important to me, no I won't think about it again until I see it. Keeping a list of things to do is absolutely pointless when I'm laying there and my body can't move and I can't make it move. If there are too many things on a list. I can't do it. Executive dysfunction. Doesn't matter how much I plan. The plan will not be stuck to. You can't fix this by making more 'plans'.

Ask for a lot of details, have them elaborate. When they go off topic ask another question or add them to imagine something else cool to their dream place. If they can imagine it and stay for a bit but with their eyes open, that’s fine too. It could just as equally be positive about real life things they want to do. If, as some say, it just means one's brain is wired differently, then the goal should be to find the benefits in it instead of seeing it as a millstone around one's neck. See how ADHD can help instead of hinder. After all, different people are suited for different things -- this should not be viewed any differently.

Interestingly there has also been studies that found that you can treat type 1 diabetes without insulin through lifestyle and behavioral changes.
This doctor should recommend that to her type 1 diabetic patients. Oh not? Why? There has been studies...............
ADHD is a physiological condition, not a behavioral condition. The behavioral problems are symptoms of the physiological problem. The reason why I could listen to the whole clip and reply in full sentences is because I'm medicated.

What kind of patients do you have? Don't want to be rude but any kind of doctor regardless of what field of medicine you practice should know this common knowledge? I've known these things for over 20 years but it's hard to find someone to take me seriously without trying to analyze me and based on a series of behavior patterns and words to form a diagnosis from outdated symptoms in a text book, and medicate accordingly. Is it a success if you see results? What about the side effects? long term effects? What about questions you can't answer in a 15min consultation and the people that can't afford to make another appointment next month to try something else that may or may not work...

At first medication seems to help but over time the side effects out way the benefits you end up on a host of different meds to counteract each other and yeah it becomes very hard to function without them, the world doesn't stop for no-one and when you need you brain to be there one day when it's not it becomes he'll on earth a feeling no words can explain only wearing the shoes you truly understand, so it's very easy to become dependent on anything that helps you get by to live as much of a "normal" life as possible... am I being extreme? Maybe... Can anyone relate? Maybe.. personal experience, sleep, exercise, meditation are all great but only in the short term. They need to become habits, asking someone who can focus for more then 2 seconds to form a solid habit of routine when the leaf blowing in wind out the window seems a lot more interesting then reading this comment is a very daunting task.... if you are a still with me? ever looked into diet? There is a huge amount of articles online about it but with no solid evidence to back it up... without going into conspiracy theories... personal experience I've had huge success with managing symptoms threw diet more then anything else any doctor or physiologist, behavior therapists, scientist or what ever have told me... bone broth and Kombucha have changed me life, no joke....

My advice is just dont let it go by itself, study - treat - analyse everything you experience. also, there is nothing wrong about telling relatives, on the contrary, it's better to let your close ones to know about what you're struggling with. just take it seriously and represent all your findings in the right way and time.

The biggest problem with the medical proffesion is that many doctors see adhd as purely a psychological condition when it has been proven beyond any doubt with experiments on rats that adhd is caused by the brain missing out on a key stage of development due to being under stimulated in the early years of development either through diet or environmental conditions or both. When you deprive rats of stimulation they become hyperactive and can only be calmed down by medicating with a stimulants (Glucose) Its very obvious the adhd brain is simply craving stimulation of any kind it can get in order to calm itself down. Why is it people with adhd calm down on stimulants and people without adhd become hyperactive on the same medication?. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!!! PRESCRIBE GLUCOSE TO YOUR PATIENTS OR JUST TELL THEM TO EAT HONEY!

I would like to thank you for the brilliant video, for the brilliant work you are doing, bringing us important information. I have ADHD. When I was in law school, I used to record all the classes because often only my body was in class, but my thoughts were elsewhere, meaning I had a lot of energy, not to mention the anxiety, which makes this comorbidity even more challenging for ADHD. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 28. Until then, I wasted a lot of time with so much energy I have. Since I was diagnosed, I sought out a specialist psychologist and also a specialist doctor in ADHD (but the race was tough to find these professionals qualified in ADHD), it was the best investment for my life. After starting treatment, I started getting the best grades in college, learned to speak 2 other languages, today I can produce much more. But the struggle is constant. It is very worthwhile to seek treatment. I have the energy of a child, this is not normal, however, my doctors help me distribute all this energy so that I can produce and not procrastinate, however, the comorbidity of ADHD which also has anxiety makes everything more difficult for ADHD. Almost no one talks about people who have ADHD with comorbidity. I thank you for your beautiful work! Congratulations. Hugs from Brazil.

Agree with the exercise. But the 'people with ADHD just need to sleep and hydrate more' advice is invalidating and simplistic. Obviously if you don't have the basic building blocks of health and wellness (sleep, diet/nutrition, safe drinking water, physical safety) then it's hard to support ADHD. But those things can be very much in place and individuals can still struggle. Thats why it's a disorder or condition. That despite the environment providing everything you need, you still find life/work harder than individuals with neurotypical brains. Peace ✌

Yip, i tried everything talked about in this video, wasted about 10 years of my life trying to find the answers and when I did find what works, it wasn't even mentioned once in this video...

@@alinarapaj2412 I've cured myself from add, 100% I've been drug and medication free for over one year, and it's been the best year of my life, all my friends and family also agree. The answers are closer and easier then you may realise. Diet is the cure, check out dr axes videos, apple cider vinegar, Kombucha and bone broth are my new best friends, they quite literally changed my life.

If ADHD is effectively treated... then an adult will still achieve normal lifestage milestones right? Do well in school? Be able to pass uni well? Manage $ well. Keep relationships up and self manage cooking and cleaning schedules?
(Coz I swear my housemates parents neglected her as a kid)
How do you gently tell a 25 yr old (who is grossly underweight too) that she might need medication?
She literally can't focus or remember anything. It's isolating her.

If you go to therapy and dive into your childhood or just ask your parents how you were as a child. You'll see alot of what she's saying is true👀🤔 our childhood trauma/habits have effected our brain function. She is a paediatrician.
My mom has ADHD but grew up in a poor country so her parents weren't equipped to guide her growing up. She is not equipped to help me because she also needs help!💀 my dad would take me to mcdonalds at 2am so now I have body issues and suffer from insomnia🤷🏽‍♀ but the ADHD is the main in my life

Sorry but I fail to see why you would want to try to treat ADHD withoit medications. Given the potential lifelong negative effects of untreated or poorly trrared ADHD, i question the parenting skills of parents who would deny their children access to medications which could set them up for a much healthier adulthood
Sure try these strategies .... On top of the freaking med. Jeez.

Nothing screams "I don't personally have ADHD and know nothing about how it actually affects people" like this condescending video.
