- The first Zombieland became a cult classic, the sequel 'Double Tap'...not so much. BUT before you decide which one is better; hear me out.

A new banger AND it's about one of my favorite zombie comedies? Let's gooooo! And congrats on doing youtube full time! 🎉🎉🎉
You're a real one for donating again! Thanks so much for the support
Happy to see hes getting support still Even though this dont got the walking dead views
I wish people watched for the wicked editing and not the topic itself
Its just so good
💦
i think the lack of ninja zombie is a joke on how sneaky they are. but i might be wrong
thats a pretty genius thing to notice lol
It's just poor writing. Too bad you weren't on the writing staff. Could a maybe made a good joke.
“You wanna feel how hard I punch?” Gotta be one of the best lines, but honestly it’s hard competition since like every line in the first movie is a banger
No joke, Zombieland is the reason I got into metal/heavy metal. 9 year old me loved that Metallica song so much, I asked my dad "what song was that? That was awesome!" To my dad's delight he pulled out every Metallica CD he had. So that, and the fact it's a funny well made movie, Zombieland holds a special place in my heart even though I've only seen it like 3-4 times.
That's an awesome story thanks for sharing 💪
Bro you literally sound like me😂
I think the beginning of zombieland sold it as more of a left for dead setting, would have been sick to see that through
Zombieland was lightning in a bottle that the second one cheapened. Sometimes, it's okay to just let a film exist on its own without the need for a sequel.
It’s just the gamble of the industry ain’t it. Like we have received some exceptional sequels, that could’ve flopped just as bad as so many sequels have.
I wonder how it would have been if it went through with the TV show ideas it was meant to be
I disagree. Its not like they pumped out 4 sequels in as many years or something. It was a single film a whole decade later, it was basically a anniversary gift for long time fans.
@@elaz925 I understand.
Ten years was too long of a wait for a poorly thought out sequel.
The intro to Zombieland is my favourite film intro of all time.
A Zombieland review? Was not expecting this! I wonder how far we’re in Howesenberg’s zombie arc
I know Zombies are a tired media genre at this point, but I very much enjoy them still. There will probably be more zombie related content after TWD but I'm gonna keep it varied
"I don't do things in half measures..."
No half measures, Walter.
3pm?! You dastardly rapscallion - this will be hard to explain to IT
My my sir your exceedingly intellectual knowledge of the English lexicon is rather entertaining and particularly humorous.
Madison was my favourite character, she was SO fucking funny man
Agreed
I love the original Zombie Land! I never got to watch double tap because I didn't have money to see it in theaters and gave up on being able to see it so I am glad Howesenberg did a video on it. Once in a mental hospital I was at, a woman said my voice sounded like Jesse Eisenberg which I wasn't sure how to feel about. Emma Stone was my childhood crush so I was fine with it.
That definitely was an insult wether she meant it or not. You need to avenge yourself.
Whole comment got me embarrassed
Fun fact- the monster truck in zombieland 2 double tap was named Big Fat Death and had two chassis depicting the truck in the film both owned my monster truck driver Kevin King, the first chassi is a ride truck called Insane Asylum, which was built to hold passengers and closer styled like a stage one monster truck, this was used in close up shots and shots of people driving the truck, the other chassi used for the film was a truck called Fluffy (named for a sponsership with Gabriel Iglesias) and was a standard competition ready monster truck as seen in shows today being a coustum tube chassi, this was used for any action shots as it would have the set up, power and safty equipment to handle the stress of these stunts.
That's awesome. Never knew Gabriel Iglesias had a monster truck named after him.
This came out unexpected! I'm glad you're covering this!
When I heard you were doing youtube full time I thought videos would be coming out even faster, but not this fast! Good job!
okay i gotta say again you are the biggest W ever you always respond to comments and overall youre just fun to watch i really mean it keep up the good work
Thanks very much for the kind words, I try to read and respond to as many as I can.
Thank you for putting so much effort into these videos you absolute legend of a man
I appreciate the kind feedback!
Idk why but w the way Tallahassee preparing an uppercut banjo swing w the music coming in and saying “you got a perty mouth” just has this entire badass element
The brushing the hair back was Columbus's dream to "brush hair behind a girls ear", not out of her face. Just saying. But The og is an amazingly rewatchable classic. I had 2 shots of wild turkey, ran into this film, and laughed for 90 mins straight. Double tap....not so much
One of my favorite parts is when he sprays Tallahassee with perfume at the store!!
What a harmless, and TERRIFYING thing to do! Lol
Bill Murray looking so old and not being able to stay immortal breaks my heart😭 tooo many actors throughout history make their acting career good enough for me to want them to stay for an eternity blessing future generations😭
“switch?? how would that benefit me??” LMAOOO
kinda makes sense the t800s ignore the gaps considering one got hit by a truck and ignored it cause the hoard was focused on something else
Yeah that's a fair point
I’d love to see these sorts of comparison/summary vids on some of the old Romero films compared to their remakes. Like Dawn of the Dead 1978 compared with the 2004 Snyder one, or the 1985 day of the dead compared with the terrible 2008 remake (re-imagining?) lol. Similar to what you did with the 28 days/weeks later films. Think that could make for some interesting vids. Just an idea, have a great weekend mate!
"theres only room for one Woody in this house" 😂
I think you're the first person to comment on that joke
14:41 I love the music choice here, an 8-bit rendition of the Megadeth cover of "I Ain't Superstitious"
Well spotted, the guy has some other Megadeth / Metallica songs on their channel
This man right here, this man makes good content, everytime.
Hell yeah, first main upload after the full time dedication 💪🏻
You probably won’t see this but I found you super recently and have been loving your content man your one of the only creators I have notifications turned on for
Thanks so much for the support!
You could say that Howsenberg has come back from the dead, lmao!
GUYS GET HIM MORE VIEWS, he litterally quit his job lol
It's all good, these videos don't do as well as my TV series ones and that's ok. I just needed a Walking Dead break lol
@@Howesenbergya just need to add more water bottles
Double Tap having that new girl was the worst decision all time we did not a need a dumb comic relief 😂 the first one with the opening, bill murray house, that store stop & amusement park 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the work bro, keep it up
14:16 my sister is afraid of clowns. She also most definitely afraid of those other… things!
I don't care if this video airs in work hours. I will be watching it
SAME LOL
I end up watching every new video multiple times, KEEP IT UP MY GUY!
Bro did Talahassas just wipe his tears with Monopoly Money 💀
i just watched these movies and you made this video, i’m so happy we’re getting an upload
Thanks for the kind words
I’ll never forget being pissed as hell when I was on mushrooms and walked downtown to see double tap only to find out it was a one night only showing from the previous night and I had to walk back home
Damn
Bro does psychedelics now thats sad
Now this is high quality content
Thank you
i love this channel and its great that your a full time youtuber now keep going your doing great
Thank you so much!
I love your comparisons of movies
nice video bro i really liked it ! keep up the good work man
Much appreciated
27:46 you forgot the fact that it would be physically impossible to do that.. its not a bunch of stones precariously balanced on the surface of the ground so the slightest push could knock it over.. its got foundations... its only a slight lean.. its been reinforced over time and had the angle changed and stronger foundations etc placed on its weak side... even a bus driving into it at full speed wouldnt knock it over... and not only that, but if some earthquake happened just as he was fake levering it and it did collapse.. it would mostly fall downwards as rubble... not tip over as if its made of cardboard
I love this movies
They always talk about Zombieland
But they never talk about Zombiefly
I cant lie your defo my fav youtuber rn
Thank you Benny!
Double tap was a bit mid but I’m sure you’ve gotten more enjoyment out of it than you will covering Twd season 10
I'm near the end of watching season 11 and it's making me miss season 10
@@Howesenberg now you know a fraction of my pain watching both ftwd and the world beyond (I haven’t recovered)
You should make a video on the mist, it has actors from
TWD in like dale, carol and andrea or whatever she is called
Both are Masterpieces.
The Long time that all the Fans did wait for "Double Tap" was every second worthy.
Madison makes from "Double Tap", what many thought the sequel would be a shitty movie,on a Brilliant, Hilarious and "Moving" film.
And another Stellar Cast.
The 2 Best Zombie movies from the last 20 Years.
the way I put it, #1 is a Zombie Movie Comedy, it is a zombie movie made comedic. #2 is a Comedy Movie in a zombieland.
What does this mean in practice? Zombieland takes the core concepts of a zombie world, and adds comedy. there is still that feeling of a creepy world, even though there aren't that many zombies for long stretches. Regardless of most of the locations being zombie free, the world feels like a zombie can attack at anytime. The zombie world is the vehicle for the comedy.
#2 is the opposite, the Zombie world is just set dressing for a comedy movie. The zombies arent a present force is the world, in which the comedy is created from; they are purely a plot device when needed to push the plot forward.
why one is better is above my paygrade, but I would guess it is that #1 is closer to the source genre of "Zombie Movie", making it more unique, whilst two is closer to the just being in the genre of comedy, making it more generic.
Hey it's me again!! Still loving your stuff would love to see you cover always sunny in a series as it's my all time favourite comedy and you mentioned covering it during your better call Saul video 💖
I appreciate you returning! I'm absolutely going to cover IASIP one day, I'm waiting for it to finish first.
@@Howesenberg awesome !!! I pray it never ends 🤣 but hey at least we'll get to see your take on it !
The zombie kill of the week thing I personally think adds to the comedy aspect, it’s like an absurd idea for a wacky apocalypse.
Oh don't get me wrong, I like zombie kill of the week / year, it's just funny to imagine how this information travels with so few people left alive
Love this channel
I appreciate you 💪
love your videos :)
That New Vegas clip Might be the most cursed Howesenberg thing has said.
Time stamp?
@@certifiedbruhmomento5137 32:58
It's at the end of the video
8:10 im pretty sure those girls werent planning necessarily to rob those two guys.. just anyone who came along the road... but i might be wrong, i havent seen the movie in a while.. or they may have spotted them following so set this trap up to stop them following..
Already know that this video will be awesome 😎 ❤
Cant wait, this will be good!
Comparing the names Columbus and Tallahassee, even mentioning christoper columbus- arguably the most famous explorer ever, and still giving the well travelled explorer trait to Tallahassee is crazy, just wanted to point it out found it funny haha
Zombie Land is top 1 for me but for double tap it's 7/10
Glad things get done outside of just the Walking Dead videos, even though they don't get the same views.
I consider videos like this to be pallet cleansers, for both my audience and me. If I just delivered the same content over and over it would feel stale. It's a shame to receive such little views as I try equally as hard in these videos, but I still feel positive about them.
6 in the morning howsenburg films is already uploadin
Zombieland 1 is such a good movie, cant wait to watch this vid
I don’t understand how you are this charismatic
My mother would smack me with a wooden ruler until I made a funny joke each day before school
17:48 wow the dark humor i love it
I have never seen any of these but have always wanted to
howensberg uploaded
Brudda is back
from what i know, zombiland and shawn of the dead are probably the best zombie comedies. i would also like to give a shoutout to Z Nation.
1st is best could have done with more scenes with the main two
28:43 you get it? Babylon. Tower…
Tower of Babel
Yo I can't wait to breathe air while I'm watching this.
lmao bro’s got the friendliest look i ever seen
I do prefer double tap over the first film, but the first film is still very good. The deal seal for me was the doppelganger scene.
Heck yeah congrats!
Thanks very much
Man really said “no half measures”
I work for a greater yield
I always thought zombie kill of the week/year wasnt real and was just them making shit up based on how absurd or funny the kill itself would be if it happened in real life.
Cus yeah a nun killing a zombie w a falling piano is a funny joke, and an italian killing a bunch of zombies with the Leaning Tower of Pisa is too. Thats why the scene w the tower is so shitty, its just a visualisation of the joke.
Like theres no way they actually know whats going on around the world and the piano story in the first movie is so simple it’s easy to see him making it up and eventually escalating the bit to the point of making historical buildings a part of it.
That's a good theory, someone else commented this theory too. If that was made cannon I'd be much more forgiving of the silliness
From what I can tell of these 2 movies as someone who hasn't watched either, Double Tap clearly suffers like any sequel bc of it's existence as a sequel to a movie that's clearly seen as a masterpiece by its fanbase and (like any other sequels in general) failed to live up to its predecessor.
"Take away a mans son, youve truly given him nothing left to lose", meanwhile stalin in his grave💀
I would love a facebook quiz of "Which Zombieland character are you?"
That SNES cover sounded sweet.
Howsenburg, you should do the Sopranos series recap
I've had that requested quite a few times, I'll consider it!
If I had a spare 10k it’d go to u. By far the best reviewer
Leaving the comment to support your youtube career. Another banger of a video though!
I appreciate it tons!
Nice vid Can't wait for the twd S10 and 11
Thanks, the last walking dead video is coming along nicely, very much looking forward to showing it to you all
The Ru paul thing had me teared tf up!🧢😂💯
Zombie land also known as James's (dead meat) Nightmare
Always loved zombielqnd since my oldest brother showed it to me. Liking movies like that was probably one of the only things we had in common. Great video
I enjoyed both of these movies my favorite zombie movies to watch 😭 I couldn’t wait to see the second one and it was so worth it
I'm glad you had a better experience with the sequel than I did
There were twinkies on the right of the van 4:00
I cant help me but to thi k that the Yellow Hummer H2 they found was a Reference to the 2007 Novel "Day by day Armageddon" by J.L. Bourne.
It's also a Zombie Apocalypse told in the style if a Diary by a Survivor.
In the first Nivel our protagonist and a Roadbuddy find a Yellow Hummer and travel with it.
Since the first Novel of "Day by day Armageddon" (There are 4 as of 2023) was released 2 years prior to Zombieland 1 and there aren't many Zombiestories with Hummers in them it has to be a Reference
I also highly recommend Day by day Armageddon.
Especially the first one which explains the beginning of the apocalypse is amazing (also it gave me shivers down my spine since I first Listened to the Audio book in 2020 during the beginning of the Covid Crisis and let's just say....ah you'll figure it out
I tried to give Zombieland 2 my attention and I tried to give it respect. I felt like I had to watch the movie crossed just to be more into it and even then I just got stupid bored and just randomly turned on Step Up 3 (no one can tell me that isn’t a good ass underrated movie)
Damn the snes remix went hard
tldr did an excellent job
Dammit I love Zombieland 1😂 Definitely a feel good film.
these movies are my autobiography
Didn't check if it was said b4 but Woody was/is vegan so the Twinkie he ate wasn't actually a real twinkie, it was a vegan pastry made to look like a twinkie.
Zombieland is pretty much the beginning days/week of project zomboid
1:45 nice save
12:01 holy shit I’ve watched this movie so many times but I was like 8. Never knew it wasn’t about a puppy but an actual kid
That's wild lol it's such an important part of Tallahassee's story
you showed us a fancy danish btw a twinkie is a snack comes in a box of wtv
