Find yourself someone who loves you as much as this man loves his reverb.
TYMELAPSE brilliant :)
so true!
Devin Townsend(?). :-)
Devin definitely
Ambient sometimes is more reverb than anything else
Love how the camera is focusing on the back of his head while he is showing imporant things on the blurry screen in the back.
😂
Nice change from the usual EDM artists you guys post. Love this guy's work.
Agreed. EDM guys have nice gear and studios....but their music is interchangeable. Solar Fields...one of a kind!
Living Legend!!!
fantastic artist.. bravo
Genius at work.
Master class with the best master ever ! I had the chance to meet him at the harmonic festival, he is such a nice and smart person ! Listen to his discography, you will hallucinate ! And mirror edge sountrack is a lesson of music. One of the powerfull composer and sound designer of these times !
Awesome! So excited when I saw this. Solar Fields is one of my absolute favorite electronic musicians. It's fantastic to see into his workflow, gear, and techniques.
This man is a genius for real though. He really does inspire me to start learning how to produce music. His work on both mirrors edge games is a thing of beauty, so much depth & feelings he put into those games.
I Love it when he says 'I Love it'
i dont think i have ever thumbs up'ed so many comments on a video. the love here is real. wish we all could go see this man preform. stay shiny guys. music to propel us into the future!!!!!

Wow, he takes so much detail in his works and has a true passion for it. Thanks for this video!!
fantastic guest FM... u have killed it bigtime this time!!
Thanks for showing us Solar Fields in the studio, what a dream come true. Besides Biosphere he is the best in psychedelic ambient. Good FMM, show us more nice and talented artists like this :)
Thank you, Magnus!) Please, do more videos like this))))
truly an inspiration to me. love you magnus :D
Great atmospheric track !!!!
Very nicely explained step by step.... the chain reaction in your mind creating the elements that sound so good together!
I hope you don't feel that you told us too much ;-). Thank you so much for sharing. I like solar fields mainly at night escaping the reality of this world. helps me discover new imaginary landscapes. or during some days on a bike off-road trips where I haven't been before! !! Thank you again for sharing!
Just listened to his latest album Ourdom...amazing and just discovered these videos. thanks alot.
I listen to a lot of Aes Dana's music and he has a collab project with Solar Fields called H.U.V.A. Network. Check out their album "Ephemeris". It's SO GOOD.
This is awesome. I love solar fields so much 💙
Love it!
Very nice! Thanks!
I always get an inspiration watching this video! Magnus is sound genius!
I cant even study without Solar Fields music. What a genius !!!
Wish I had that Andromeda.
Best studio session. I love music by Magnus
My DREAM is to live with him for a few months so he can teach me.
its like his music was made just for me :D
I wish he had tutorials to make the music. Would help me a lot in making my parkour game more fitting.
I'm looking forward to new Solar Fields!
Me too ❤
loved your work on mirrors edge!
GENIUS!
Interesting to get some insight in his work process. Looking forward to hearing the new album, IMHO Movements is his best work so far. It's a true masterpiece!
some ask about what he do to make his music so great.
i tell 3 things in my view are crucial in his music.
first is modulation he modulates every bit of sound.
second is reverb, he uses a good amount of different reverbs in the send it does the trick sounding away better.
third is playing with low frequencies that he phases and LFO etc.
the rest if you have two more things like a good sensibility for melody and beat you can achieve something within this line that magnus does.
yeah sure... it's easy to achieve good sensibility for melody, structure, technical skills, mixing skills
reducing any creation down to it's individual steps will make it look easy, but creating something from nothing is anything but easy.
Thank you :)
Please do one of these with Carbon Based Lifeforms!
Fantstiskt! Robban som visade mig dina grejer! Jag är ett nytt fäään! =) Robban hälsar!
Damn I couldn't understand the use of loopmaster until this video! Very great demonstration on how pro workflow in modern Cubase can be a great time. Most of these plugins were default which is awesome too
I'm in love with his accent.
Production Goals dear goodness Lord!
your music is sooo atmospheric and trippy..
He is a fantastic artist and musician
Keep it up well done
Glad to see him getting recognition after so many years, only took a triple A game by a monster publisher. Zentriert Ins Antlitz next?
Magnus is GENIOUS!
Seriously, very open and talanted person.
Switch to Reaper, man! )))
The day he switches to Reaper is the day I pay for my license :D
my inspiration.
Master!
i love your mind!!!!
Nice to see the details of Magnus working method.
Yeah, it was interesting to know that he assembles everything as he goes!
I've heard other music producers say that most of the time they already have the basic track in their heads and then they just need to translate it into sound.
I don't know how Magnus is capable of giving a direction to his tracks with his working method but it's a fact that he does! :)
"YUST"
love it
Хороший музыкант. Мне нравится. Многие композиции восхитительны. Также великолепен саундтрек Миррорс Едж Каталист 2016. Магнусу желаю творческих успехов.
valhalla reverb
very interesting
He is genius
NEW ALBUM!!!
True master
Some great design work going on. I'd love to hear about how he references to keep levels in check. There are a lot of areas in the mixing of this kind of epic ambient washy music that puzzle me. He's insert reverb on nearly every track/bus yet everything seems so together. Anyone have a clue how he could be managing this intense blend of elements where all things remain clear? PS that filter-stepped snare hit was brilliant!
Its a very clever mix of some sounds that are meant to blend together and seem like one unified thing. With some other elements that are meant to sound as separate layers. From what I can see its mainly his sophisticated use of EQ which is allowing him to keep the separation and clarity where he wants it. The distortion on some sounds is important too. That takes good ears, quite a bit of experience and some technical knowledge about masking, spectrum analysis and such like. Plus of course you must have a clear idea of what you are trying to achieve and where all of the different elements are supposed to fit.
Who here knew him because of Mirror's Edge?
definitely!
Nope. Been listening to Solar Fields since 2002.
@@earthisarealm5393 Same!!!
not me...
I didn't know he worked on it, I just know him from the psybient/psychedelic sphere
Just so you know ,that is not dandruff on the head rest ;)
Nice one FM! Keep on
whats that for a reaktor FX in the beginning ?
I was sure Solar Fields would have himself a Korg Prologue
21:12 what a sick sound
The guy is a genius. Those synth's laying around there... like that polyevolver... they are not there for show they are used extensively.

If William H Macy and the janitor from scrubs had a son who was a producer
PLS DO MORE PSYTRANCE TRACKS!!
I shouldn't grill him on this, because I love the guy and his work, but he spelled "parallel" wrong. ;-)

Why is it that the swedes are better at making music than everyone else in the world
And also £10 quid for each time he says "Reverb"
This guy creates this great music, then instead of performing it live he plays pre-recorded versions of his songs. I don't understand why his fans are ok with that.
I don't know what you're expecting, but as a single man who produces advanced compositions made up of a lot of digital, virtual instruments playing at the same time, there is only so much you can do for a live performance. This is the case with most artists in the electronic genre, anyways. That being said, he does play some actual instruments live, on top of a lot of the automated synthesizers in the background, in some of his live performances. Here's a good example: czcams.com/video/273axwQ6xsI/video.html
read the comment that replied to you below.
Just use some expensive VSTs. Got it.
...and a whole lot of creativity and skill in producing and arrangement.
its all about the arrangement, production and a unique style.
And learn how to make music you tool
The stock plug-ins in Logic and Ableton are plenty good for most types of music.
The message is use What you Have and then you will slowly discover What you Need, based on the Work you are doing....price plays no part
