    Grew way too much garlic this year (no such thing!).
    My daughter and I made two big braids using this video. Turned out beautiful!

    This is the first year we've grown soft neck garlic. I'll be trying to braid it. Thanks to much Laura for sharing how to do it

    I laughed at the jute breaking, because as soon as you mentioned it in the beginning I said "aw man im gonna snap that jute trying to tie it"

    Thank you for this excellent refresher. It’s been about 20 years since I braided my daughters hair.
    Although the garlic is not as delicate to work with, it won’t be wiggling around as much.

    Love it! (I couldn't do it the old school way either). It's so great when people leave their little stuff-ups in because I can almost guarantee that I will do the same thing and it's nice to see how someone else manages it too.

    That's awesome, looks a bit harder than I would have thought and I'm sure I would need some practice. I would love to be able to grow, braid and store my own garlic someday. I love cooking with lots of garlic!!

    I usually keep the nicest cloves to plant for next year. They have the most energy and are the most adaptable cloves for my area.

    My husband was watching a video on how to braid garlic and didn’t get it, but TBH, he doesn’t know how to braid at all. I told him, “I’m sure Garden Girl (my name for Laura) has a video.” Perfect!

      When you see it being braided, it is dried & yes it is cured. I hang mine upside down tied individually to a wooden clothes airer for 14 days to cure, in a protected area from sun & rain.
