Hello! We have realised Ireland got a series win in Aus in the amateur era, apologies! Blame wiki… 😢
Wkipedia is not an accurate source of information anyway
He's simply phenomenal
💯
McCarthy was superb against France, but Beirne was my Man of the Match. I thought he was incredible.
I thought so too.
yup agreed
Well done about time. This guy does not get enough credit. I think he’s irelands most important player
Ooft big shout!
Definitely a great player, passionate for Munster & Ireland, no fuss just gets on with the job x
Absolutely love Tadgh Beirne. What a player! - Welsh fan
Scarlets fan? 😉
Lovely Irish name though 😅
The reason he only played 4 games in 4 years at Leinster was injury. It was a great pity but at some point you have to call it and I know he was looking at quitting rugby at that point for a normal job. To get to where he is now should be a lesson to everyone. There were other players that I wish Leinster had never let go like Andrew Conway and Joey Carbery but at least Munster have done well out of it.
They are and will be always loved and respected by Munster fans
Unfortunately for Joey he's been plagued with injuries for the last couple of years. He is really popular with Munster supporters and we wish him all the best and every success in Bordeaux (except against Munster of course 😂)
Fabulous player, who percentage man of match awards must be right at the top.
hes so exciting to watch ,really makes things happen !
Thanks for giving him the credit he deserves 👏 up the lillys ☘️🇮🇪
Love him, he has no quit.
Amazing tribute, thanks for highlighting
Thanks!
Ireland's first series win in Australia since their other one
💯
Apologies, but he was on the Second Irish side to win a test series in Australia. Ireland previously won test series in Australia 2-0 in 1979. Tadhg is a phenomenal player at the peak of his powers. Leinster’s loss is Munster’s gain.
always been my favorite irish player
Would be a different Irish team without him Delighted to see Tadgh get the recognition he deserves.
I agree - he is as vital a player as Ireland have. If we can develop a few more hybrids like him.....................................
Awesome maverick. Excellent. His side steps are s trademark.of his ingenuity and mesmerizes opposition especially backs.
Didn't mention Munster noting his progression at Scarlets and signing him then opening the door for him to play for Ireland .
Great player, a true example of not giving up on your dreams
💪
You failed to mention he joined Munster and it was from there that he really came into his own and ultimate representation of Ireland ,he is still a Munster player.
Class 👍🏻👍🏻🇮🇪
True.. and still gets overlooked for motm awards.
Yup
He also has a crazy good kicking game. Great lock, great at the breakdown, huge work rate, great hands, great step, fast, and can kick. Madness.
Amazing player!
Point of information. Ireland won its first away series against Australia in 1979. Commonly known as Ollie Campbells tour.
Nice video, but Ireland couldn't select Bierne while played he abroad. Signed for Munster, named in touring squad.
Certainly the best defender in the world post 2019. I would say it was Maro before that but Beirne's been incredible. Not just jackals but maul defence and pouncing on a loose ball or even the odd interception. To my province Munster and obv Ireland in most big games he's worth at least 5 points or more for moments where he's saved his team. That's all before we even mention how good he often is in attack.
Fantastic all round player
💯
Byrne and Aki are the 2 best Irish players over the last decade
Ireland's first series win in Australia was actually in 1979.
If I could stop a player ageing in the Irish squad it would be Tadgh Beirne!!💪💪
Nice!
He always stands out to me against South Africa 🇿🇦
Jack of all trades, master of pretty much all of them
Nice
Very good, but I'm I right in saying Ireland won a series in Australia in the 70s?
WIKIPEDIA SAID THIS WAS THE FIRST OK!
@ThePirateRugbyPodcast Hahah, you've done the boys of 1979 here, but I'll allow it great video I assume you meant first 3 test series 😉
I know it's still a feat, but I'd be inclined to say one GS in his two championship wins.
There's no trophy for the Triple Crown, and since the 6N started GS's are much more frequent.
To think, Leo Cullen who played in the same position told him he wasn't good enough🤦♂
A Player for the Ages.
The power of Jonah Lomu abd the sidestep of Phil Bennett: quite the combination.
Haha nice!
He was highly rated but unfortunately plagued with injuries while at Leinster. It was no surprise to anyone familiar with Leinster that he was a success in Wales.
I don't think it's too much of an exaggeration to call him the best rugby player in the world (however that is defined.) He has all the skills. He's from Eadestown, Naas, Ireland and started his rugby playing with Naas RFC.
Thanks! So he’d wear Naas socks if he played for the Barbarians?
lets not get ahead of ourselves. He's quality but cant really be in the mix for worlds best player
@@ThePirateRugbyPodcast That's a nice thought!
2:05 Being selected for the Lions isn't the "ultimate honour" for Irish players. Nice video nontheless, Beirne is a beast.
Then what is?
Of course it is.
Isn’t it mad gatland barely picked him for the lions
We all know the reason why Garland did not pick Irish players in for Lions. He hates the Irish.
@@dublinbay2362 gatland only seems to pick players based on balist and ignores the finer skills. If Beirne was 125kg he would of been picked
@@hc8299garland has lost the last two tours over pure bitterness for the Irish
@@Nieljoyceniel I don’t know how people see the NZ tour as a success. That was probably the greatest lions team of all time. In almost every position lions had arguably the form player in the world and we narrowly won one game with an extra man and drew the final test by a refs blunder
And we know why, we sacked him@dublinbay2362
Some man for a turnover
Good video except for the music, it's brutal.
Is that how you spell Ardie Savea in Irish?
You spell it Tadgh Beirne.
@@taintabird23 That's what I thought, thanks for that, how is it pronounced in English?
playing for the Lions is not a greater achievemnt than making a WC squad
Meow
😂😂😂 Irish fans getting ahead of themselves again. Calm down Lads, settle down 😂
Brodie Retallick
Brodie who ?,he would be lost in Beirne's wake.
@mikeahern3999 Brodie the winner that's who
Brodie can hardly walk ,he couldn't do a five yard sprint.
@@mikeahern3999 ?
@mikeahern3999 Bernie won't be winning any world cups fella, four more years paddy
We beat the South Africans ye couldn't, try and pay your players ,they are going all over the world like beggars.
Hello
I am not sure who you are addressing here, or what it is a response to?
@@ThePirateRugbyPodcast Sorry if it went to the wrong person, mea culpa.
World’s best forward? Only if you are Irish 🤷♂️
Who would you put ahead of him?
@@ThePirateRugbyPodcast Ardia Savia, Shannon Frazzel, PSdT, Scott Barrett, RG Snyman, Rob Valetini, Cameron Woki, Maro Itoje..

@@ronanmcallister1232 yes! Him too! 🤦🏻♂️
No
Come on he's good but what about the boks (choose 1 to 8) or savea first. Please
That the same Boks that have lost their last 3 games in a row to Ireland?
Gonna be 5 in the summer
