Beginning at Glentress Peel, we make our way up to Spooky Wood, stopping at the Freeride Park, and then ride Super G, Hit-Squad Hill, Pie Run, Mushroom Pie, Magic Mushroom and Falla Brae. And did I mention that I managed to fall off, again.

This has helped me plan my way round im off to glentress know 👋 👋
"Its a vicious cycle" - beautiful.
More jet-wash action please.
Cheers. I'm thinking about putting it on a t-shirt.
I actually made a bike wash a while ago. Used it a couple of times at the trails and it's a little belter.

"Dry roots mean dry pants" made me chuckle. Great job
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Incidentally, I rode Gisburn yesterday. There were loads of wet roots and, surprisingly, wet shorts, too.
I've not rode glentress for a few years, this has just put it back on the radar again for a visit.... great job buddy 🤘🏼
Cheers, John. Much appreciated.
Percussion...lolol........Great video geez.....We're hopefully going up there soon....Cheers
Thanks, Mike. Did you make it to GT? I'm definitely long overdue a return trip.
Great video
Slick editing of a great ride. Just starting to learn the art and you have given me some great ideas. No sleep tonight then!!
Thanks, Bob. Good luck. Check out DaVinci Resolve if you haven't already. It's a great editing package.
Really enjoying your videos! Great commentary, detail and humour ☺️
Thanks, Laura. Much appreciated. New one coming this weekend.
Very enjoyable comentary. Looking forward to riding this route now. Big thumbs up.
Thanks Kevin. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome video and very informative. I need to check this place out. 🤙🏼
Went to Glentress today to do Spooky Wood... Absolutely loved it... Well worth th drive :)
Glad to hear it, Jonno. It's a lot of fun. My legs are always toast by the time I get to the start of it, but it's a blast to ride.
Love the wit in your vids! Keep it up man
Thanks, man. I'm glad you like them. More on the way.
Great video, broke my shoulder a few years ago at glentress so defo agree about going too hard on Super G...
Dude, you are hilarious!!! Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Ethan, but I'm sure most people would probably use the word odd. ;) Glad you enjoyed the vid. Chris.
What can I say. After having watched your bike park Wales run before this and getting excited and then watching this I'm just about hitting the roof with excitement to run down Glentress again but with my son this time and also get the opportunity and the time to ride BPW, which i thought wouldn be too much for a blue/red runner like myself. Soooo! Thank you so much for the perfect guided tour and the jokes also lol I really do appreciate you putting together these most awsome videos.
Thanks, Stu. I really appreciate it. I love Glentress, it's amazing, but BPW is on another level. Everyone's friendly, nobody's there to judge how you ride and the uplifts mean you've got plenty of time to ride the fun parts, which is all of it. Your arms will give out before your legs do.
another good video enjoyed this
Thanks Paul. I really appreciate it. I love Glentress, but I guess that pretty much everyone else does as well. ;)
Love the video mate. Viscous cycle haha
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice video !!!!
Thanks. Cool channel. Subbed.
Great content man 👍👍👍
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Vicious cycle, great name for a bike 😎
Agreed. I'm working on a t-shirt design with that slogan on it.
Great video with some good laughs. It’s not easy to keep ones attention these days with the plethora of repetitive MTB home videos, but you’ve got the knack. Stay monotone 🤙🏾
Thanks. I'm really pleased you enjoyed it.
great video, i really want to go here
Thanks, Finn. You should. It's arguably one of the best trail centres I've ridden. Just love it.
I went here a few weeks ago and you made the climb up hill look soo easy 😂😂😂
I always think it would be easier if I could get someone else to do it for me. ;)
Great video mate. Despite living in Peebles I still haven't created a guide to the red. You beat me to it! I only really enjoy the red from Hit Squad Hill. The other stuff is too pedally for a modern enduro bike, I always just feel over-biked. It's actually it's most fun on an XC hardtail. You can really maintain a lot of speed and there is enough there to keep it interesting. Keep it up mate 👍
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I'd love to live in the Tweed Valley; there's just so much to ride. Great channel, btw.
@@MeantforDescent thanks mate. Yeah, I grew up in this area, left, then came back! So many trails and a nice place to raise the kids as well. I just need to make sure I explore a bit more. You can end up spending all your time here and get blinkered to other good places. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Thanks. Likewise.
Great video, subscribed 👌.. Either choosing Newcastleton or glentress tomorrow... Fully enjoyed hamsterley today 👍.
Thanks. Really glad you enjoyed it. Both are excellent, but Glentress is my favourite.
Great video, haven't been in Glentress this year, planning on visiting when snow clears 👍
Thanks Gary. I'd definitely wait. It snowed the day after my last visit and I saw a post from someone who had ridden in it and was missing some skin.
@@MeantforDescent Yes I'm happy to wait, rather keep my skin where it is!
@@garyalexander3281 I managed to fall off in good conditions. I don't think I can be trusted in the snow. ;)
@@MeantforDescent Likewise, last time I came off it was bright, sunny, dry ground and ideal conditions! 😂
Great video and insight into the glentress trails. I’m heading up there in a few weeks time and would love if you have this trail recorded in STRAVA? As I could use for when I’m up there 🙏🏼
Thanks. Unfortunately no Strava, and you might find the trails are a bit different now. I understand that quite a lot of work has been undertaken recently which includes some new trails. Not sure when they're due to open, but the photos look great.
I did that today for the first time it was amazing 🤩!!
No doubt it won't be long before you're back. GT is great.
Great vid, Kylie Minogue definitely !
Excellent taste, sir.
You should be so lucky lucky lucky lucky!
Nice I did the red trail in Ae forest yesterday.
I did it before lock down, but didn't realise there were so many diversions in place. Looking forward to going back when it's all open.
Brilliant vid mate, the red route looks awesome. Just wondering if i'd be able to ride it. How much is it a progression from say, Llandegla blue trails ? I'm not the most skillful mtber on the planet and wouldn't want to get out of my depth.
Thanks, Patrick. Not having ridden Llandegla I can't really answer that question. I can say that the red grade technical features at Glentress are all rollable, so you don't need to leave the ground, and there are also sometimes easier routes around them. I would expect the trail to be narrower, rougher and sometimes steeper, too, but if you take it easy and walk anything that looks more challenging before you ride it, you'll most likely have a great time.
How long will it take to ride the red trail route?
"...short but entertaining...much like the delightful Kylie Minogue..."
Cracking vid. Just found your channel. Its all good stuff. Is your bike a Vitus Sommet?
Hi Simon. Thanks for your kind words. Very much appreciated. Yes it's a Sommet. Love riding it.
Brittany spears was a better ride lol
It's a good job Carson Daly and Fred Durst aren't in earshot. ;)
Meant for Descent lol. Have you done all the trails
No, not all of them. I've ridden the red, blue, parts of the black and some off piste, too. I should probably get back there and make some more videos.
Amazing. Are the green/blue trails pretty forgiving for someone who hasn’t done much trail riding? Got a bit of experience riding bike and not bad basic skills. Just don’t want to try ones that are too much too soon… it’s about 23 miles away from where I stay so hoping to get out here.
The blue trail is a nice, relaxed ride. From memory it's pretty short, though. I think the green sections are accessed from other trail sections, so not a trail in its own right, but I might be wrong about that.
@@MeantforDescent appreciate the info on that mate. I’ll be sure to get myself out there ASAP. Look forward to getting to grips on some of the easier ones then pushing. Are there any serious drops on the red trails? Just wouldn’t want to push the forks too far
@@prodbyconscious there isn't anything you can't roll, and I'm pretty sure all the drops can be ridden around, too.
@@MeantforDescent nice man, once again appreciate the info! Can’t wait to get out there soon
Are all these trails mapped up or do you know where you are going and are all the trails interlocked
Hi Mick. Yes, all of the trails are mapped and you should be able to download that map here:
www.glentressforest.com/images/7stanesglentressinnerleithen.pdf
The trails are also way marked, so there are posts along the route to tell you where to go. However, if you want to jump from the red trail to blue trail, for example, you'll need the map to tell you how you can do that.
@@MeantforDescent you been a big help . And to your other reply I will be taking
My time as I will be riding alone as no one to ride with but all this had been a massive help and watching your videos had given me more a ideas of how to go on
Stay safe, Mick, and enjoy the trails.
How long did it take you to complete all the trails?
Hi, George. Around an hour and a half at a leisurely pace, but it'll take longer if you ride via Matrix. I'm sure it can be done a lot faster, though. Thanks, Chris.
Nice vid man, what's the tune at 4:20?
Cheers. It's the instrumental version of Stays the Same by Gloria Tells. I found it on Epidemic Sound.
Vicious Cycle lol
Yeah, apologies for that. In retrospect, it probably should have been accompanied by a rim shot and a boo. ;)
Another top vid dude. Only ever done the black run at GT. Red looks awesome. If you ever fancy checking off Ae, Mabie or Dalbeattie, hit me up, there on my doorstep, l’d happily show you round. Ride Safe. 🤙🏴
Man, I was at Ae yesterday. Had a blow out on Omega Man and it was a nightmare.
Meant for Descent bollox. I was off yesterday as well. Yup. Had the same thing happen too me. Coming off one off the drops on the way down. Back wheel exploded. Instant flat. Apart from that hope you enjoyed it. If your back north off the wall anytime soon. Geez a shout. Mabie and Dalbeattie can be fun too.
@@trailsfromthedarkside6460 Honestly, it was a day from hell. That was a brand new Minion DHF. It had only been on the bike for a few hours and it's a write off. Plus, the trail was diverted, so it was mainly climbing and climbing sandwiched between two two hour drives. I listened to Wish You Were Here on repeat for the whole drive home.
Meant for Descent aw dude. That proper sucks. Ae’s been diverted long before covid. I thought they wouldve fixed the fkn thing by now. Takes a lot of the fun sections away. Mabie had a small diversion last time we were there but not too bad. Dalbeattie is still good to go, and its a great ride. Super rocky tech. One of my last vids was from Dalbeattie. Hitting Hammers on Friday though. So fingers crossed for that. Noticed your channels blowing up recently. Congrats dude, well deserved.
@@trailsfromthedarkside6460 Thanks, man. I've definitely ridden Mabie, but it's been a long time. Not sure about Dalbeattie. I'll have to check your vid. Hammers is a blast though. Polty's through to Nitrous is amazing.
9:13 hahahaha
She's a gem.
@@MeantforDescent she is indeed! I just discovered your videos this morning man, they are great. Really well put together! Looking forward to more 👍🏻
Thanks. I really appreciate it. I'm working on the next one right now. Not a trail vid, more of a workshop project, but that'll be out this week.
Great video
Thanks, Darcy. Much appreciated.
