Ean Ross Speech in the U.K. Supreme Court - Mooting Competition Final

  • Leading Speech by Ean Ross of Staffordshire University in the Final Round of the Mooting Competition held in the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. Presiding over the Moot Final was Lord Justice Hughes of Ombersley. The Moot problem was a Judicial Review case where Counsel Ross was representing the Local Government body in the fictitious scenario. The Mooting Final was won by Counsel Ean Ross and Counsel Ian Amirthanathan, both International Canadian Law Students from Vancouver and Toronto.

      It is either 'My Lord/Lady' or 'Your Lordship/Ladyship'. It sounds better not to interchange from 'my' and 'your', unless you're addressing multiple judges as a whole, so for example "I'm sure Your Lordships are aware..." :)
