Are you a climber? I don't think I could ever climb snowy mountains. I believe it takes a special kind of person to have the drive to climb these huge mountains and cliffs. Hats off to this man and all who choose this path.
I am from West Texas, so I wouldn't call what we have Mountains, but I grew up climbing the "hills" we have. Our biggest risks are more so cliff faces and rocky terrain, not freezing temperatures or altitude!
I'm amazed his lungs were capable of working efficiently at altitude with an unfiltered smoking habit... cigarettes were much more potent back then, and the amount of sludge that your lungs would accumulate through chain smoking made it difficult enough for people at _sea level_ to extract enough oxygen from the air - let alone these heights! I really respect his methodical, semi-scientific way of testing & documenting his body's reactions & psychological effects of altitude.... even if I'm grimacing at the thought of his lungs! The nicotine must have had different effects too, since his blood oxygenation must have been lower the higher he went. Interesting scientific questions.... RIP Nicolas 🤍
Imagine if you will, the body freezing at above 10k feet that eventually becomes an ice cube. One day that human ice brick dislodges, slides at high speed with a bulging rocky outcropping in its path, and WAM'!!! Shattered in hundreds of pieces.
I understand this is more of an experiment/study but I do not understand why some climbers insist on not taking extra oxygen up, I cannot be convinced that they do not have a death wish...Maybe it is not for me to understand.....
Guys!! I need your expertise!! Do you guys know of a climber (or climbers) who had to cut someone else's rope to save themselves?? I need to write a hypothetical legal notice on the subject and I thought you guys might know of a precedent🤔🤔 Anyways, I love the videos keep them coming🙏🙏
Not a mountain, but a climbing situation...look up Malcolm Hall and Joseph Faichney. Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but definitely fits that description!
@@dreamingofstarlight499 thank you so much! I'm looking for it but can't seem to find it because of the coverage on his own death. Do you happen to know the mountain or the name of his partner?
No one talks about the 1 lb of poop a day these rich people leave. 1,500 on Everest this year. 45 days x 1lb day x 1,500. That’s 67,500 lbs of poop plus the diarrhea, wipes and other stuff. Get that off the mountain before you pull 200 lb dead body ice blocks off.
You don't realize how large the gaps are until a human is standing there THEN you see it.

Thank you so much!
I really wish you had more subs. I thought I had subbed to you and I'd like to apologize for not doing so much sooner.
Yikes! So I wonder where his remains are then if his tent is allegedly still up?
Might thought exactly! 🤔

@@nbk9372 sounds logical actually.
Roger Marshall, thats another video idea. He was known as the 'Bad Boy' of Canadian Climbing. He sadly lost his life as well on a mountain.

It's so they have a story to brag about. Personally, it doesn't impress me at all 😐
Boolonnje - that's how to pronounce Boulogne. Beeluncour - to pronounce Billancourt :)

Rob hall had to do so in 1994? When his rope partner fell into a crevasse and couldn't climb back up
