Even though I am an Arsenal fan, I totally disagree. As a defenseman, where would you place your leg after touching the ball if the opponent goes the opposite direction? And clearly the ball took a deflection on the defenseman's leg. So yes, if ball first and you do not endanger your opponent with a streched leg, then why is it a penalty???

In short, his slight touch of the ball seemed very coincidental

The ball moved in the direction Jesus made it GO so we can't say Lamptey GOT the ball
He got the player's leg - on his way doing that he very very tinyily grazed the ball which was not even of his own knowing

This Commentary is biased 💀. It's not only about touching the ball when a foul/Penalty has to be given, it's the way you tackle, was the contact made soft or strong, did it affect the player or not. Even De Zerbi said it's clear.

What about him ?
They still have an outside shot at getting into Europa League or Europa Conference League but would have to really pick it up a notch and start winning all their games from here on out. . . and the way they have been playing has been rather lifeless in the 2nd half of the season. Used to really enjoy watching them play but they lost their spark and have to find their way back to that place of inspiration. . .Good thing they had a strong start because could coast and not have to worry about being relegated at this point. TBH . . .at this point, I find Luton Town games more interesting / intriguing to watch (with the energy and spark they're bringing to the games) or what's going on at the top of the table with the three way battle for top spot.

I am happy, another scare is scaled through. Clearly, the coaching crew and the players appear to be conscious of what is at stake. Their approach to matches nowadays is capable of breaking their future opponents down before their encounter. I hope this is sustained. The focus should be on the next match. More grease to the elbows of the medical team as they battle to keep the key players fit for every match.
