2024 anyone?
❤❤❤ 2024!!
fack yeah!
🎼🤟🏼
Since '02
yes
"It's just a phase." I am now 32. I guess it wasn't.
33 here
32 as well
Lol
33 over here. Been binging this with MCR, TBS, Dashboard, and more.
Been the Used, AAR (first album), TBS, MCR, last Blink album w/ DeLong (that I talked shit on at the time) for me. It's so bittersweet. It's actually just nostalgic, but I took advantage of myself and felt fine.
29 here and im still blasting this and other emo, screamo, post hardcore song.
You know when you hear a song and get goosebumps... You know when you revisit it 20 years later and it's still giving you goosebumps.... Anyone?
🎆Yes! I listen to this song Every Day, it's on my Playlist. I love it!
Definitely one of my favorites from this band
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave Acoustic” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🐺🤘
Absolutely! Gave me even more chills reading this, lol!
indeed
Who still listening in 2024? This a classic for me now
2024!! I love this song
me still listening.
39! Stilllll listening! ❤
100%. I’m 38 and will be listening to this in the nursing home lol
I'm in your side..🎉
"You'll grow out of it."
I grew into it. Actually.

Very true
Words cannot express how much I miss the 2000’s

I don't remember the early 2000s because I was a wee little one back then.

“I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.”
Best goddamn times of our lives and we never even knew it
@@SirFigsAlot I wish I was younger again. I wish the year was 2010, back when I had no worries and I was always happy and careless and just hanging out with my twin sister and playing with our toys.
I am now turning 41 and still love this...

Same.
I'm turning 42 in a couple days and I'm still rocking out to this song and "The Taste of Ink"!
This song never gets old. I remember my parents thinking that my love for rock music was just a phase...well, I'm 37 now, and the "phase" is still going strong lol
37 here as well and not just a phase lol
37 here as well. Just embrace it man. I'm gonna listen to this music till I'm laid to rest
it's not a phase mom
Just saw these guys again in honor of my daughter Kristi who passed away. This was her favorite band. She loved the Used so much that she even had the first verse of their song "Smother Me" tattooed on her arm. Kristi was our baby! We called her baby all the time too! It's been 3 years now since she passed and I've seen The Used at least 4 times so far! Maybe 5 but I was really intoxicated most of the time since I was repeatedly "toasting" our beautiful daughter throughout their shows. I'm so glad our Kristi shared the Used with me! I'll go as often and as frequently as I can from now on for her!! Rock on our baby Kristi!!Pops loves you always my sweet baby!!
So sorry to hear that sir I wish you nothing but the best
@@austindavid1862 Thanks!!
Awe... I'm really sorry for your loss.. But I'm sure, Kristi, your baby especially loves the way you honor her memory and that she is right there rocking out with you!! 💖✨
Made me cry
@@millennialcansada Its beyond tough. But when I'm at a Used concert, my Kristi is rocking beside me!

Yep...I'm here too...🤘
Always and forever!

Definetly
Forever ❤️
A flawless song some might say
Yeah
It’s perfect
Imagine this song with our 50s and 60s to be played every sundays or at a senior citizen party, time flies fast
I used to be a CNA and all the residents love to sit around listening to music from their time I always thought that it will be interesting to see when people from this era will be sitting around bumping hits like this when we are in our golden years ❤️
I hafta pull a double today don't ask me y I'm up so late either. It'll prob hit me later. Like all the other ish I hadta go through in my dailys. Some of my co workers blast rap when higher ups aren't around. & It's just stupid. Like u do get a chill environment becomes contagious, no? Or let's just try it the other way then. It's not that I'm "soft" it's just some of the sh they do is like wth is wrong w/ u? I feel bad for em bc they're scared to speak up ... Even about their mistreatment. 1 of my co workers was trying to tell me not to do something for a resident & bish, I'm not trying to make it harder on myself. I really don't get how she's still there. She's an idiot. I hope she does quit. Bc if things r unbearable now, I don't get how she doesn't get that at the core of things, ure gonna be doing the same exact sh. The job does require some compassion. & a lotta of em lack it. Like who told u this was the job for u? Bc she says even her baby drives her mad. Just overall, she's the can u make it make sense. Anywho I once heard Richard Marx in there. Of course it was bc of some higher up but I at least thought it was pretty. Just dawned on me, I should start bring my ear buds in there. Also also I don't think this would be appropriate in there bc I'm not trying to trigger anything. Lawd if I really started blasting my ish in there.... Especially from my younger angsty phases. I'd be like die mofo die. I mean, plz don't. At least it'd be natural tho. Vs This sh can't be normal, getting paid to watch ppl slip away & what not. Meanwhile I worry about stuff like I can't accept gifts 😇. Like these elderly folks & fams love giving me sweets
I'm 64 in a few days, and still listen to The Used. And will be still when I'm 80! 😂❤
Goes by fast
Holy shit, everyone’s still here? I knew this wasn’t a phase.
Yeah im here pretty much everyday
Yes, currently getting back into rock. I should’ve never stopped listening !
Never was.
Yeah.

When we weren't lying when we said "it's not a phase mom" cuz I'm definitely 30 and still bumpin this album.

Lol same. I saw them live in 2007 when I was 17 and here it is 13 years later and I am 30 still listening to this song.
If this band is in this era today, it will get more recognition and appreciation. Either way I am lucky to grow up listening to this kind of music. 90s kid represent!!!!
There still around

Probably somethin the lead singer would do

This band is severely underrated tbh.
Maybe now but 10 years ago they were insanely popular along with senses fail and silverstein I remember watching mtv every morning before school and all that I got was every other video
zach Oblak Yes they were very popular. but deserving though.
because they are just OK nothing special
Idk how this song has the ability to creep up and send me back to being a directionless kid in Chicago. I though Bert's voice was so different, so real, like I was going through his ordeals. I'm 36 now and nothing beats that slight pause and punchy open!
High school days…… man! Nostalgic moment. So much more relevant as you grow up….
this band never got as big as they should have
Nathan Glennie
They’re huge
Nathan Glennie they were pretty big man...
Prob a Top 10 band in their genre for their era. Wikipedia says over 15 million sold albums
Back when I was 13 they were huge
10 years ago when I was in school they were huge. I was a big supporter, and if you think this sounds good, listen to their live albums. The used Live blows the studio versions out of the water IMHO
This album was a fucking classic. The best of it's class for me.

Listening in January 2021, I’m 32. My mom passed away last week and I’m just listening to music from my teens. She was my best friend. I don’t believe in a life after this one, but I know and science shows us the law of “Energy Conservation”. Just like atoms, energy can not be created or lost. So the potential energy she had left in her atoms when she died and then subsequently cremated was released and effected the atoms around and those atoms the next and so on. Add this with String Theory, her energy is influencing things throughout the entire universe. We will meet again one day.
Bless

if it wasn’t for this album i’d have never gotten into post hardcore. this was so groundbreaking for me around the time it dropped & for that i’m grateful.
The early 2000s had some of the greatest rock music ever just for the simple fact that it was emotionally honest. something you won't find today. Just an exciting time for rock and roll. Don't get me wrong I love all genres throughout the decades but this was really fun

You almost always pick the best times
To drop the worst lines
You almost made me cry again this time
Another false alarm
Red flashing lights
Well this time I'm not going to watch myself die
I think I made it a game to play your game
And let myself cry
I buried myself alive on the inside
So I could shut you out
And let you go away for a long time
I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back
You're gonna have to ask
I think the chain broke away
And I felt it the day that I had my own time
I took advantage of myself and felt fine
But it was worth the night
I caught an early flight and I made it home
I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back
You're gonna have to ask
Nicer than that
Nicer than that
With my foot on your neck
I finally have you
Right where I want you
Right where I want you
Right where I want you
Right where I want you
I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way
And if you want me back
You're gonna have to ask
Nicer than that
I guess it's okay I puked the day away
I guess it's better you trapped yourself in your own way

To be clear this song isn’t about a girl. It’s about his previous addiction to meth and how he pulled himself out of it and got clean.
Drugs are a hell of a thing. I have huge respect for anyone who can get clean on their own and stay clean! That’s a damn feat!
This video and lyrics are a kick in the heart, I was so mentally ill 15 y/o in hidden ways for what continues now in the form of a bit of mania/low mood, I missed out on a truly amazing guy, but I'll respect him always - TG is unforgettable, now I look back on time from a clearer view
They better play this at my funeral because I’ve listened to this song more than any other song ever and I’ll never ever get tired of it. This is forever!

Just saw The Used and Rise Against last night in Dallas, and they've still fucking got it. The show rocked just as hard as when I saw them damn near 15 years ago.

Man, I remember driving to work after I had a fresh audio system installed in the car and this album in the CD player. Start to finish at least once a week, I was late to the party, but I learned to love The Used because of this album. So amazing. Ah.... 2008!
dont ask who still here in year " insert year" we never left
Almost 20 years later and this entire album still hits just as hard as when it was released. I don't think there's any modern band that has the same sound The Used did.

One of the best songs and albums ever. I can't recall how many times I purchased this cd. I wish music talent was like the old days, the days of The Used,AfI, Thrice, Atreyu, Smile Empty Soul, Story of the Year, etc, etc

ya the early 2000s produced some good records. the bled, thursday, hopesfall, poison the well, horse the band, finch, trustcompany, e-town concrete, fear before the march of flames

thank you for this list
There are still new bands to listen to that resemble to The Used and other bands you mentioned!
I never realized how damn good this music video is. So awesome
And so much more! The lyrics!
The blur and yellow album was and always will be pure perfection. Nostalgic over here
I'm 36 and this song has helped me out through many dark relationships that I put my self in. In the end I have broken those chains⛄ with only love and understanding.

No matter how hard I try I can't get this song loud enough.
I came from the era of Nirvana, Alice in Chains, STP, and Soundgarden. Played live in bands throughout that time. We had a ton of energy. Then got a good career, and listened to The Used, Blink, MCR, ADTR, Breaking Benjamin, and still the 90's stuff...and still to this day...loving this music. It's not a phase, it's what keeps you getting through all of the obstacles called life that everyone will run into.
Crazy how I haven’t heard this song in probably 10 years but I just sang along word for word. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 The Used will always have a special place in my heart
When this song came out I was in the 11th or 12 grade. 17 or 18.

CW: MENTION OF EMOTIONAL ABUSE, SELF-HARM, ED
i miss the used.. but unfortunately no matter how many times i try i can't get over the painful memories attached to the songs.
during the time i mostly listened to them i was going through a lot: emotionally abusive relationship with several breakups & getting back togethers, worry of my ex doing something to themselves, self-harm, eating disorder. the memories are too strong to go back, no matter how much i've been going through them.
but thank you the used for being there for me back then, thank you for giving me an outlet to express myself, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🖤
This is an album I always come back to. Every time I hear it in the different stages of my life, it hits just as hard as it did when they released the album and I was a teenager.
