I wore Lancome Le Red lipstick for 20 years. Both of my ex-husbands told me that they first noticed me because of the beautiful, sexy red lip. I'm 67 now and I just can't wear it anymore because it ages me as my lips have gotten thinner and drier. In the 80's and early 90's Coty made a product called Stop It! (With the exclamation point). It was a light waxy consistency and my lipstick not only never bled above my lip liner, but my lipstick stayed on all day, even through eating and drinking. I've tried literally 20 lip primers and none of them come close to performing as Stop It! did. Why do they discontinue great products like this??
Blotting is how my mom taught me to use lipsticks when I was new to makeup 💄. Such a nice reminder. I love red and every time I wear a super simple outfit I like to wear red lipstick to feel a bit more polished. 💋
I say it all the time but THANK YOU for having a face that has not been injected it changed. I heard yesterday that two of the Master Estheticians here that recommend so many products and tools and sell everything BOTH had facelifts? To each his own of course but I really feel this harms the industry. It’s also sad because they are so young.

Eleanor Roosevelt: A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.
Brilliant blotting to a stain and adding the gold gloss. I would have never thought to pick that color gloss as a topper, but now I want that look.
Love it! Like you, I went gray/silver early on, so I've learned to love bold lip colors, otherwise, I look completely washed out. I naturally gravitate towards reds and corals. A bold, classy, red lip will never go out of style IMO.
Never am I without My Chanel , Romy, lipstick . It always makes me look alive no matter what. Loved the Tutorial . By the way I am 59!
Oh, I loved this video, thanks so much! I never used to like myself in red lips but honestly, after letting my gray grow in from the dark brown dye, I often like it. The softened contrast between hair and face allows me to feel more comfortable with greater contrast in my make-up.

I still don’t feel comfortable using red lipstick, or even bright colors, on my lips though, but I have gotten the hang on joining the peaks and I’ve noticed a slight positive difference on my upper lip. Great tip 👍

A key to wearing a red Lippie is to know whether you are a cool tone red or a warm red. Fir years, I wore warm reds only to realize I'm cool toned.

the link to the Opte does not work. In any case would this 'machine' help reduce a rather large area of solid dark pigmentation on my left cheek? The dark patch showed up when I was about 55 and has made a permanent home on my face. EDIT: watched your other video about 'Dark Spots' and I will try one of the suggested products. I love your idea about toning down bright lipstick. I was seriously thinking of tossing out my MAC lipsticks "Morange" and "Impassioned". But now I can figure out a way to still use them.

I’m a red lip lover over 50. Way over. But I don’t have half an hour to find out what that one thing I should be doing is, and I’m not interested in the whole face stuff. Also, I’ve seen you do it before. Maybe sometimes you can just skip to the chase.
There is no way I have found to line my 75 yr old eyes as you show here. It’s not a matter of practice. I can’t see well without glasses and can’t wear contacts. I have oily and crepe paper eyelids, which makes them very movable. I love your fierce aging series, but one thing that would make them better is to see these ladies of a certain age group do the makeup on THEMSELVES. I would like to seemthem to actually take up the challenge of doing it on their own . Watching you does not give a true tutorial.

Have you tried a magnifying mirror? I also have gotten used to my reader’s vision. I’d try one of those folding magnify mirrors they used to sell.
I never line my eyes as they are hooded .I just focus on blusher and lipstick and just mascara on top lashes.
You need #TheCruelMirror any massively magnifying illuminated mirror 🪞 that lets you see face hairs for removal, perform skincare & spot lining, etc

for mature woman … sometimes a bright or dark color pronounces a drooping (downturned) lip. Do you have any tips for that? Yes, we do need color. Great tutorial.
Lisa Eldrige has a tutorial on that. Use a liner and don't draw the whole lip shape, you need to draw the lipline inside of the lips cutting off the corners...it made a HUGE difference for me!
I have small lips and avoid dark colors because I try not to call attention to my lips. Could use some ideas on how to make them look better. Lining, gloss, mat????
I have small lips too and love red lips. I don’t find small lips are bad at all. Defining the lips makes a difference. Although Nikol connects the peaks of the Cupid’s bow, I prefer the peaked shape. I have nice peaks so while small, it’s a nice feature to emphasize. Like she says everyone is different so experimenting is essential to find what you like best. The right shade of red is most important and for me it’s a blue red or brick red to make my skin tone pop. I do subtle eyes and cheeks which allows the red lips to brighten my complexion and I swear even the color of my eyes is emphasized. Also I don’t like gloss on my small lips. Doesn’t do a thing for me. Again…it’s a personal choice. Have fun playing!
As Music Lover says, it's all about playing around and seeing what works for you. Unlike with Nikol, anything with shimmer in it does not work for me. Makes my lips look smaller. As for the blotting I learned it as a technique to increase durabilty. Lipstick, blot, lipstick, blot, and finally a light layer of lipstick again. No gloss.
