my wife had just passed away, and this song came giving me some precious relief. Thanks Paul, always
I’m so sorry for your loss. My condolences.
Cesar, I am so sorry for your loss. I was married 18 years, 5 boys. Our 2nd oldest was just 17 when he was murdered in 2001 at his work during a robbery...THEN in 2003 after my divorce, I found my jr. high sweetheart Elizabeth Joan after 22 years apart. We only had just under 9 years together before she passed from a stroke at only 51. PLEASE know that I am here for you if you ever need a friend. They never ever leave us because we are all energy and energy never dies. God Bless You~
This song is SO SHIT live, and boring.
@@MarklovesJoan That is absolutely heart breaking, Sorry for your losses. My mum died from a stroke as well when she was 62. 💙
@@scottconnor8867 Thank you and, I'm sorry for your loss as well. Stay strong as it's all we can strive to be
The crazy thing is that this could be on any Beatles album as a little ditty or short song and it’d just be filed amongst the rest of the timeless classics he’s written with the Beatles..McCartney is a genius..a true living legend
Good point, shows how "impossible" Macca's task has been since...Anyway the "White Album" would be my choice as a place to host it !
Thus no way could have been on any Beatles album I doubt very much that Lennon or Harrison would let that happen this is so sub par it’s embarrassing, lyrically immature it really is horrendous 😂
@@samuraininjarockstar9355 Disagree, I think it's a great little song. Are you sure you've actually listened to any Beatles albums? You think Wild Honey Pie is a lot better than this?
I don't know what it is, but like a lot of Paul's songs, this one grows on me and feels better every time I hear it.
So catchy, so upbeat!!
I think its a matter of hearing it at the right time and age. I really just discovered RAM
Ob-la-di ob-la-da
life goes on bra
La-la how their life goes on
"How can you not love this man!" :-) He's the best!
Mario Fromadistance He was full of himself, but still talented
John Lennon Is The Best
I was thinking that!!! Paul is really the best!!
Definitely The Best! Not only because of his music, but because of his charm.
I've loved Paul when I was a little girl . And I still do he's the best. Thank you for music Paul.
Magical. A mandolin that comes perfectly tuned.
You pay extra for that.
"That's not a banjo. That's a mandolin"
That ole magick indeed@@ethanhelhowski
15 years this year! I cant believe it! Great song, great album!
yea l got the it on cd 💿 called memory all most full got it for free
It is a great song and I can’t believe it’s been 15, almost 16, either.
WOW! so fast. I'm 59 & it looks like time is flying Concorde.
😢
I like to think that the emphasis of Paul sitting on the chair is a reference to 'Got My Mind Set On You'.
Alasdair Goudie Oh yea just realized that
Should be more like 'mindset' like the Who "Getting in Tune'. Never-to-see-any-other-way>.....>>>>>>
There's a sitar on the wall behind him too
How is it? I watched Harrison's video and I'm none the wiser.
@@cjrogers9060 There are two videos of Got My Mind Set On You. One of them shows Harrison performing the song sat in an armchair. You've probably watched the other one which is set in an old fashioned games mall.
hes all like "what you put in this tea Paul Mcartney!"
Maybe Sir Paul keeps some acid around his house for old time's sake
Haha probably does maybe a little ayahuasca too
😂😂😂😂
Got them prellies at the ready
WTF is Paul Mcartney? Never-to-see-any-other-way>......>>>>>>>
Still having more energy and creativity than the whole industry today.
Saw Paul play this in concert, and it's such a fun song live. And Paul's drummer Abe always dances like a nut to this. Great tune.
paul is so polite :D
Ed espitia sure, cameras were on.
Paul just writes hit after hit after hit ... How is it possible! ... The Beatles ... Wings .. His solo career .. Undoubtedly the Greatest songwriter in the history of our world ... Sorry Bach.
its in his DNA lol
As absolutely great as he is, Classical composers are on a completely differently level! Out of reach!
Don`t forget Bob Dylan!!!!!!!!!
@@MegaBeatles1966 Wings is overrated in my opinion, Lennon and Paul just carried with them the fame from the Beatles not by their solo careers. But Ringo and Harrison made some great albums, specially Harrison.
He is a cyborg.
Imagine being a postman, you deliver a parcel to Paul McCartney who offers you a cuppa. Like honestly!
Mysterious Thang I wouldn't mind, being high af if he spiked my tea.
we can olnly hope, and be envious.
Paul didn’t offer him a cuppa which is the joke the whole clip is based on. He accepted a cuppa that wasn’t even offered because he was so worked up into having a cuppa when he arrived at the house.
It kind of looked like the postman had made deliveries to Sir Paul numerous times before. "Bit cumbersome this one . . ." and Paul allows the postman to come in and sit in his kitchen like this happens all the time. I expect Paul would be a little more wary of strangers entering his home especially after George was stabbed in the chest by an intruder in his home in 1998.
@Paul McCartney Billy Shears so scared to tell the truth. Ch ch ch chicken
NOSTALGIA
My middle school early mornings. I remember when it first debuted I was in total shock.
Because it's Paul McCartney releasing music in my day!!!!!!!
Ahhhhh....... if only I could go back.
Paul é policapacitado em vários estilos de músicas. De seus instrumentos saem sons dentro de uma cadência estilosa e encantadora. Abusa do inusitado, e alcança a perfeição.
Love Paul always, such a talented handsome man
lo máximo !!!!!!! Paul te AMAMOS SALUDOS DESDE PERÚ!!!!
Leonardo Favio entiendes algo de los que hablan en el min. 0:54
This just renews my love for Paul, over and over again.
man, I love this guy. I hope he's happy.
I agree with you on both counts!
A simple melody but so so catchy. Wonderful uplifting song. Thank you Paul. Your music brightens people's lives.
Thank you so much for your kind words you are such a lovely fan how long have you been listening to my music.
@@paulmccartneypaulmccartney2061 I am not the original author, but I am 63, and I have listened to you since 1965, when my older sisters bought Help!, and played it nonstop on the family's Philco turntable. Then, I listened to you when you created Paul McCartney and Wings, and I still listen to any new music you produce. I love your music, and your lyrics. I think you are a genuinely good person, I hope you have realized your dreams and never retire, and live forever. Have a nice day, Sir Paul McCartney.
i love the part when the guy says 'is that a banjo?" and paul says "thats not a banjo, its a mandolin!"
one time i was listening to this song and as soon as the song started with the mandolin intro, my dad walked in and said "what is that, a ukelele?" and i screamed "THATS NOT A UKELELE ITS A MANDOLIN GEEZ GET IT RIGHT!!!!!"
Paul McCartney is one of the most talented individuals in music history. His music is so fresh and alive. He just keeps popping out the beautiful music and we are better for it. Melissa (my wife), who has never really dived into music the way I have, heard this song and instantly loved it. That is the gift that is Paul.
Paul’s magical mandolin made his violin bass jealous. The dancing spirits touch the imagination. I wonder if , when he’s playing or writing a song, he’s not alone. Thank you Maestro.
Natalie Portman's vocals were superb.
How can even 57 people dislike this? It's Paul McCartney man, he's a genius.
As only a suggestion Lauren -- these 57 people are people who don't like songs that are a bit of flashback. A hat-tip to the past. It's not rock n' roll, folk, or blues -- it's a middle-of-the-road, easy-listening ballad like my parents used to listen to & before them. Clever, and upbeat, like a lot of Rodgers-Hammerstein songs ("How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?").
The Cole Porter, the Gershwins & Hoagy Carmichael-type songs ("Hong Kong Blues" -- covered also by George Harrison) from the 20s through the 50s. McCartney would often find inspiration from those songbooks (as Bob Dylan recently did too).
And I'm certain that's what irritates those 57 people.
Who cares? I like it. You like it. You have taste. That's all that matters.
A great song. Lifts my spirits when I am feeling down. He has still got the talent for writing catchy songs. Love it.
How can I not love a song by you, Sir?
+Elay Production How can We not love a song by you, Sir?
Ever if you feel bad: watch this video and all the sadness is gone! 🤩🌺🌳☮️❤️
Funny thing, when this video was released in 2007 it was listed as "Paul McCartney - Dance Tonight". Now they have to add the "ft. Natalie Portman" because you would absolutely not notice her in the video.
Funny, I would have
I've watched Black Swan so many times I don't even need to see her face...
FAC You watched Black Swan for her face?
.....im saying that i would recognize her figure
FAC hard to argue with that ;)
Mr. Burke Linda is also easy to see ..a very fun one..for halloween
You have to give the "man" credit for courage and hope after he lost the love his life, and then the Heather Mills debacle. He has lived his life under such scrutiny, yet his children managed to grow up great, and not get caught in all the fame and the crud that goes with it. No druggies, no arrogant brats, who end up in the media every week.
Haha, the mail man is Ragetti from Pirates of the Caribbean! How the hell do I remember him after all these years.
that's why he looks familiar :O
Well, he also played Gareth in The Office. Great actor!
and that metal detecting program..
And now, he's in a scene with Captain Jack Sparrow
He was also a gangster in a few episodes of Skins.
When I'm sad I listen to this song and I automatically get in a good mood, thanks legend
Lucky the mandolin was tuned
lmao
... and left-handed.
He didn't order it. He ordered a cricket bat. It's not like he'd been shopping on hauntedmandolins.com.
@@DanEllis I was hoping that that was a real website lol
If he orderd his mandolin off wish ....a cricket bat wouldve arrived 😃😃😃
This man was in my hometown, he walked on the sidewalk I walk on when I go downtown, he walked in the arena I walk in, and for 3 hours, he was in front of me on stage. No concert will ever top it
Guaranteed earworm for the rest of the night.
Another good one Paulie!!! fab!!!
I love how everyone is arguing about the fact that the madolin just happens to be lefthanded etc. and nobody cares about the fact that there are ghosts and Natalie Portman is one of them haha
Isn’t a “left-handed mandolin” just strung the opposite way?
Just happened to be tuned as well
And the washing machine is on fire
Afterall Sir Paul is lefthanded!
WOW! Natalie Portman dancing and Paul McCartney singing, pure genius!!
I REALLY like this video and the beginning with Paul speaking with the postman is hilarious!
This was always one of my favourite's of Paul's. A perfect, happy little pop song. It surprises me it's not more well known.
I love how as soon as Paul starts to play the mandoline the magic starts, literally
True. Paul is great! look at people around and see how many diferent people can feel him and his song!
The girls screaming when Paul was 20, now hes 77, and the girls ( not the same one!) are still screaming..
Svein Sigurd Gismarvik yep..me!! And I’m 12
SCREAM!!!!! 😜🎶😘
Svein Sigurd Gismarvik maybe they ARE the same ones.....
@@mrsmacca126 yes, maybe they ARE? Hope so, and some new...happy with Paul.
I AGREE AND I'M ONLY 17
even my grandma still screams over paul 'til now
whoa this is probably the cutest thing I've ever seen
I remember when this song came out and I wasn’t born until 1989. This just goes to show that true talent may age, but Paul could still write a hit even today!
@alfredwalker825 THIS IS JUST IN CAPITALS SO YOU DEFINITELY SEE IT, BUT THAT GUY WHO REPLIED TO YOU ISNT THE REAL PAUL MCCARTNEY. I CHECKED THEIR CHANNEL AND ITS A FAKE SO IM JUST TELLING YOU SO YOU DONT FALL FOR IT
Who was it, BILLY??@@JFFM730
Paul, you're a great man.
I love all your songs.
I'm a fan of you :))
Saw him play the other night, he was fantastic. Played for 2.5 hours with no breaks, then 7 encore songs. Awesome :)
I randomly found this song and I love it.
A wonderful, heartwarming fact: Paul's daughter Beatrice (who was 3 at the time this song was being worked on) got up and danced when Paul started playing the mandolin, which helped this song "write itself". It was put on his 2007 album Memory Almost Full at the last minute, and was the opening track...and it just worked out so well.
Can you imagine a night Paul's house? for like a dinner party or something? It'd be brilliant!
Please proofread your comments in the future so you don't come off sounding like an ignorant moron. Never-to-see-any-other-way>.....>>>>>>>>
Absolutely banging
Should show this on music channels. Get that the greatest hits are played most ofcourse but alot of hidden gems like this song aren't shown. One of the biggest music legends deserves more of his lesser known songs played aswell
Whimsical ♡
Just a nice, catchy, lovely tune.....LOVE that Macca can STILL bring it !!
wow!!!!! exelente video es una de mis canciones favoritas, no cabe duda paul nunca me va a dejar de sorprender, por algo es un genio musical. hermoso video y hermosa cancion.
I've been screaming since I was 14 years old for paul McCartney and still am!!!😀
White Album "Throw Away" and LAST of Paul's voice. GOD BLESS ALL I AM THE SHED ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
It's Ragetti. Now I feel stupid for not noticing it the first time, because he's one of my favourite caracters from Pirates of the Caribbean.
It's Gareth
I knew it was him
Sir Paul is always great! Sweet song and funny video, what could you ask more?

This was fun and magical.
Dance tonight forever
This just makes me happy.
True Genius.
He would have been in his late sixties there and he's dancing around likes he is 20 it's AWESOME
Right? When he jumped up off the bed when his mandolin was stolen, he moved like someone so much younger.
@@GizziesGirl2 He used a double in the video
I saw the guy used in the video and you couldn't even tell up close it wasn't the man himself

Paul has never really put out a tune that you could have said like "god that sucks" 'cause those are still songs done with a feel and a smile!
Bip bop????
I ordered a cricket bat hoping Natalie Portman would climb out of the box, but I only ended up with a cricket bat.

Great song. And Natalie Portman is really beautiful.
This is my second favoritest of Paul’s videos! So brilliant and hopeful and magical…esp love how the dancing spirits end up in different places then they come alive in.❤
Paul Mccartney House Is So Cool.
Fairuzi Renaldy idk if that is his actual house
Fairuzi Renaldy lol so dumb. It’s a set.
Think that's peamarsh Surrey outside his house maybe
@@6644pmr ok, smart-ass, how do you know it's a set? I don't assume it's Paul's house but it looked like a real house to me, and I'm pretty sure for such a small production they would more likely shoot on _location_ than go to the time, trouble and expense of _building exterior and interior sets!_ Now who's dumb? At least Thiago wasn't condescending.
MikeAnn193 you've obviously never worked in production. Filming in an actual house has so many variables that need to be worked out that it's easier to build a set in a controlled environment. If having the choice between the two the latter is much more attractive to a producer. Not to mention a lot of these sets are already built and can be simply refurnished to suit the needs of the shoot. What I said was dumb was someone actually thought he filmed in his own house. Takes a special kind of stupid to think he would ever do that.
Maybe the last Mcartney's classic. Simple and Beautiful.
+Leon Mateo Escovar Bernal Now you have Queenie Eye!!
even My Valentine
Pedro Henestroza really don’t like queenie eye.
Well that's what I thought, then there was My Valentine and now Come onto me and the other one....

What i'm saying is, i have been listening to Jason Becker for years, and really love his music. I also truly love many other guitar players and bands. You really don't have to tell me to listen to Jason Becker. I also love Paul, that's why i'm here.
The post man must've drank some tea laced with LSD from the 60's.
spartan113ish He must of known their dentists
The guy could write a song on anything, anytime, anywhere. If he can dream a song like "Yesterday" then everything in the waking world is a bonus. He gets inspired very easily and it all seems like throwaway stuff but it isn,t ...Hello-Goodbye
You're so right, Paul could walk out of his house, trip and fall and bust up his knee, get up and go back inside and write a song about it😆
@@markmarcel6953 lol
It came perfectly tuned, right out of the box!
