- Putting this video out to help anyone who many be looking to build a stand for their outboard motor and trolling motor. The challenge was to build motor the was big enough to fit both my motors and not take up too much space in my garage since I have limited space to work with. On this stand I'll be storing my Mercury 9.9 outboard motor and my Minn Kota Endura Max 55lb trolling motor. Everything turned out pretty good. The stand is extremely stable and looks good :). Enjoy the video ladies and gents.

I’ve just got to say that I’m totally blown away with not only your SKILLS but your AWESOME ATTITUDE towards everything you take on! I can tell by all the videos I’ve watched of yours that you’re a really good guy! I’m hoping to take this project on after watching you blast through it. I’m totally disabled but I hope to get mine made before our first freeze this year(2021). Like you, I want mine to be able to hold my trolling motor as well. You’ve got the exact same outboard as I do along with a 55Lb thrust trolling motor!! I hope mine turns out as good as yours but I doubt it will, haha. But as long as it won’t tip over I’ll be more than grateful from learning from you!! I’ll def place my 2 heavy batteries on the other side of the stand to provide more stability just like you’re doing. Thanks again for always having such a positive attitude with all your builds! I’ve learned so much from you with all your videos!! Keep the good fight going brother, please continue to make more videos! I can’t thank you enough for providing such good detailed videos!!
Thanks for posting this. Just what I needed. A good design and you’ve incorporated an easy build method . Perfect.
Awesome man. Glad you like the video.
I followed your directions and built a stand yesterday. Mounted my new 9.9 Honda and electric trolling motor.Works beautifully. Thanks. Took me a bit longer than an hour though I have some spatial issues.
Awesome 👍🏾🤙🏾
Just what I need! Thanks for the video!
You're welcome Karl.
Great Job!!!! you kept it simple didn't overthink it and used tools everyone should have. on top of that a space saving unit. Great work look forward to seeing more. I will be building Mine tomorrow thanks.
Thanks. I use it all the time. It's holding up well.
The stand looks cool👊nice vid man
Thanks Backyard Bassin'... this was way overdue. My poor trolling motor has been banged around for the last 3 years lol...
Thank you. About to get going on same...needing to hold both Mercury 9.9 & Trolling Motor, plus the lower stand for batteries will be very practical. Well done and helpful.
No prob. One of the best DIY things I've done. Good luck.
It’s the best stand I have seen from many in youtube and this is the one I’m following to make mine.
Just one observation, I think you are short two cuts in your list. I count 12 cuts in total; but only 10 cuts are mentioned on the list.
Good job my bro. I had already built one when I came across yours.
Great video and I followed it step by step to build my motor stand. I wanted to bring something to your attention. The list of materials in the description is missing two of the boards used in the video. I had to make another trip to Lowes because I ran out of wood. Lol! All good. Just thought you should know. I appreciate the great content and following some of your other videos for wiring and hinges for hatches. Keep it coming!
Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out and make the update the description
Love the design. Building one of these today!
Thanks. I use this all the time. Good luck with your build.
Great video, made a stand to hold my 20hp johnson, gas tank and my trolling Motor. I used all scrap wood and wheels. The only thing I had to buy was screws to put the wheels on. Total cost of new money spent was $5.65.
Took About 1 hour once I found all the wood I would be using. Thanks again
That's awesome. Feels good doest it?
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV amen!
Definitely a must have rack.
Absolutely. Best thing every and it was quick and easy to build.
Thank you !
👍🏾
Nice plan. You could have saved a couple of bucks by buying 2 locking and 2 nonlocking castor wheels . Install the 2 locking ones on diagonal opposite corners of the stand.
Good idea. 👍🏾
Thanks for the video. Now I just need to build one able to hold an old 50hp, but this got me in the direction I needed. Thank you!!
👍🏾🤙🏾
Dude you're awesome thank you so much for this amazing idea I just finished mine and it's super stable. I made it big enough for two motors 5.0 Suzuki and a 3.5 Mercury thank you so much
No problem. Sounds excellent.
Great Job! Now it’s my turn!
Go for it!!!
You gotta have one of those. Nice job.
Thanks. It's pretty essential now that I have one lol.
Great job bro. Mad skills.. 👏👏
Thanks John. Appreciate it.
love it man. I made one too after seeing your video with minor mods.
Awesome 👍🏾🤙🏾
Great looking stand !! 🤜🤛👊👊👍👍✌😉😁
Great video Bruh !! 👍👍✌
Thanks Timothy.
Good video. I need to build one of these. This was very helpful. Fish on!
Thanks man. It's been a life saver
Nice and simple but looks strong as hell, going to Lowes right now to get some materials and try to replicate this!
Went with 36" vertical posts and a 2x6 up top to attach motor to since it's a Long Shaft, offset the bottoms at 12" in front of vertical posts and 20" behind to soak up some more leverage. She looks good, thanks again for the great video!
Great Video Maeem (?? is that correct?) building this now but with heavier verticals as I have a 15 Merc and 2 9.9's (Evinrude and Tohatsu). also putting wheels with inflated (large) tires on mine as it's pretty heavy. Thanks, love your channel!! Shalom from Haifa!! p.s. also have a 260hp 5.7l OMC Cobra but thankfully it stays in the boat.....
Ha ha. Yea I would keep that one on the boat too lol.
Thank you I will build mine tomrrow ...
Awesome!!!
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV and I did my 5 hp outboard and my trolling motor fitted perfectly .Not quite as pretty as yours but I'm very happy with the out come from Sputh Africa
@@hamishshennan2014 that's very cool. Send me some pics if you can on Instagram or email bbfishing.dmv@gmail.com. I'd love to see your creation.
Thanks bro.
👍🏾🤙🏾
That slick bro! I plan to build one of these but i may have to scale up? I have two older motors ,both Merc's. Ones a 9.9 and the other is a huge 40HP Merc! LOL the motor it self is a big and round as a large trashcan! Put a whole new upper end on it and still need a water pump. I think the motor is a "72"? HEHE and the 9.9 is an old rental motor and the guy gave me a spare that didnt run for parts. Now no boat!!! HAHA So i gotta build one of thes because both motors are on a piece of lumber on the floor and leaning against the wall as well...... :>/ Glad i have all the material laying around the garage too! :>) thanks bud!
No problem. This stand has served me well. Good luck with your build
Great video thank you! Where can I find the comments with the measurements?
Thanks. Look in the video description for all the measurements.
Didn’t realize I could just click the description! Found it thanks my man!
i just got my 9.9 and its like 95 pounds.. its hard to pull up.. this stands dolly a must for heavy engines, you dont want to hold like 95+ pounds of weight too long
Yepp.
Hi bro, greeting from Malaysia. May i ask, did u use pine wood for the stand?
Greetings. I used regular 2 x 4 studs.
Yes it's pine.
I followed the dimensions in the description and mine came out 31 1/2 tall, too short
Hmmm. Mine is 37" tall with the caster wheels and 33 1/2" tall without the wheels. Sounds like you're missing a 2 x 4 somewhere maybe
I followed the video to make my stand and you're right. The measurements weren't precise and I had to make some adjustments. There were also a couple boards missing in the description from what was shown in the video. I just dropped a friendly comment to the brother to bring it to his attention. I'm sure it was a mistake. Great video otherwise.
your short 2 30" boards in your list.
