- This is a technique I use to make reading interesting again. It is called Marginalia. Marginalia (or apostils) are marks made in the margins of a book or other document. They may be scribbles, comments, glosses (annotations), critiques, doodles, or illuminations.

Who am I?

I have a lot of dumb ideas. I tend to write them down and then revisit them from time to time. Sometimes, the world and/or my own understanding of it has moved enough to where it can now be taken to a new place. If you’d like to talk, I’d love to hear from you.
Enjoy!

Damn man this is the exactly the thing I wanted to do (after reading your info), information deconstruction is key to make it stick longer in memory + articulate new thoughts ! Going to try following your lead :)

Great video! It's really well edited as well! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Book *Concrete Mathematics: A Foundation for Computer Science* was compiled out of lecture notes and published with marginalia written by students, which often consisted of math jokes, quips of various quality, or quotes of famous mathematicians and, sometimes, their rambling complaints. The text was compiled through 1970s and '80s.
The book was typeset in TeX, and LaTeX (which builds on it to make it more user friendly) is set up, by default, to provide plenty of room for marginalia on the printed page.
now that's an interesting bit --- thank you for sharing;
will check it out!
Keep this channel going, you are bringing positive effect to the world.
Hey thanks for the feedback and kind words! I am now on a weekly schedule!

This really helped. Thank you!!!!!
thank you! I hope you found this useful!
Loved the video, it was greatly edited. Any tips on not wanting my bookshelf to get too big? I love buying books and learning but I don't know what to do with all my books. Selling them doesn't seem feasible, especially if they've been heavily marked.
Hey Cassie - thank you for your kind words!
I am not sure about the number of books you have, but donating them seems to be a pretty good solution.
Or storing them in an attic.
I know that Tim Ferriss has a quick essay on why he is not reading any new books in 2020.

I might be contrarian to some degree, but sometimes I feel like most of the books out there are coming from the same substance that is recycled over and over again.
There are 2 types of authors trying to share their lessons with you.
Authors who have to write more.
Authors who love to smell their own farts.
Most books on business are almost exactly the same.
They are reiterating the same concepts and wrapping them in a different layer.
Not the same for fiction though. Kind of.
I adore books with marginalia! You could probably sell them to someone like me, haha... I love knowing that the books I read have history and the curiosity that arises from seeing someone else's responses to the books as I read them. I think it's just a matter of making that clear wherever you post it.
Keep Goin Bruh.. ❣️❣️
Hey thanks!
Found you from Ali Abdaal. Good content🤍
Hey thank you very much for your kind words!
