I picked up a Logan String Melody II last week. I've not brought it home yet as I am still away but I am looking forward to bring it to my studio and hooking it up, hence me watching all the videos on the String Melody II that I can. I also have a Yamaha SK30 at home that's my baby. These classic string synths can be addictive lol

I clicked on your video to hear the wonderful sound of the String machine, but I was blown away when I heard the "Das Boot" theme, I didn't expect that at all!

As an owner of a VP330 and having tried a 505 I can say the latter is the most beautiful string machine I’ve ever heard. It’s incredible

Your're right - RS505 is one of the most flexible String-Machine. And a early years roland-mono -synth is inlcuded.

Many of these synths sound like Jean Michel Jarre. It helps that you're playing some of those melodies, but it really brings it home.

@@SSMCurtis do you also find the rs505 is generally louder than the vp330? Apart from the bass of course

@@MusicFed RS505 is more rough and powerfull, more polyphonic synth then string machine

yes the Lamda is a cool string machine - but it's is missing - as Arp Omni, Korg Trident or Yamahe SS20 ... I'm working on that ;-)

One might assume that the Syntorchestra is the big loser here but it realy isn't. If you put the right effects and a good dose of digital reverb on it it sounds wonderfull. It's only true fault is that it has no inbuilt bucket brigade delay ensemble effect. Too much of that can however also kill a sound as the more weedy examples prove.
