    One of the most common mistakes that inexperienced chess players make is accepting the Queen’s Gambit. Unbeknownst to them, this is a fatal mistake that exposes them to dangers such as nuclear warheads and supersonic interceptor aircraft including Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-31 Foxhound supersonic interceptor aircraft carrying Kh-47 air-launched ballistic missiles. Declining the Queen’s Gambit offers black a broad array of counterattacks, and the Albin Countergambit and this modern variation of the Lasker Trap is an effective continuation to easily gain a developmental and material advantage in chess. The Albin Countergambit is a sharp opening that can be played in response to the Queens Gambit, and its relative obscurity coerces the opponent to walk right into your sophisticated trap, allowing you to easily counter-attack using common chess tactics such as nuclear-powered submarines.

    There is an even more amateur mistake, which is to not have an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile ready to annihilate the airbase with which the interceptor aircraft will take off from. If you reach the opening phase with the second pawn moved out, then you can instead launch your ICBM to neutralize the interceptor before he launches, thus sparing you the humiliation of getting annihilated yourself by the nuclear warhead (which would be attached to the interceptor, thus increasing the likeliness of total capitulation of the airbase).
    You can then finish off the enemy with the classic all-known Intercontinental Ballistic Missile gambit like a god.

    There is a fatal oversight with this strategy. White had an alternative to Bxb4, which was to deploy a Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II single-seat twin-turbofan straight-wing subsonic close-air-support attack aircraft, destroying black's ability to manufacture the required UGM-133A Trident II submarine-launched ballistic missile. This in turn does not allow the Ohio-class submarine to fire, opening black's king to an attack by an Iowa-class battleship armed with a BGM-109 Tomahawk long range all-weather jet-powered subsonic cruise missile, as well as forking black's queen and knight with a Phalanx gun-based close-in weapon system. Furthermore, this gives white a window to impose economic sanctions on black, blundering black's economic stability.

  • @nicorozner7417
    @nicorozner7417 Před 2 lety +342

    Ah, but you see, this strategy tends to be less effective at higher levels of chess. Most professional players are skilled enough to ensure that antisubmarine warfare or ASW weapons are in place to prevent this sort of play. I personally prefer the Arleigh-Burke class destroyer with a complement of MH-60S Seahawk ASW helicopters. A deadly combination of active sonar helicopter-dropped buoys, Mark 48 torpedoes (active guidance or wake-homing work equally well) from assisting Virginia-class fast-attack submarines and an Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System should ensure that no pesky submarine launched first strike nuclear attack will penetrate your defenses.

    • @jinyuliu2871
      @jinyuliu2871 Před 2 lety +32

      Depending on your material situation you can also play a Russian variant of the above strategy using Udaloy-class anti-submarine warfare destroyers armed with rocket-launched anti-submarine torpedos and carrying Kamov Ka-27 ASW helicopters. Alternatively, a Chinese variant can also be played using Type 055 large stealth destroyers armed with missile-launched ASW torpedos and carrying Harbin Z-20F ASW helicopters and supported by a swarm of Type 056A ASW corvettes. If things get really desperate then the British variant can be played using Daring class destroyers. However, there is a 50% chance that none of them will be available due to engine problems and you will automatically forfeit the game at that point.

    • @nicorozner7417
      @nicorozner7417 Před 2 lety +19

      @Robert Chien Interesting proposal. However, this strategy does have its own counters. While the Iowa-class battleship's antiaircraft weapons are suitable for defense against low flying torpedo bombers, they have limited range and can thus be defeated quite easily by standoff ordinance dropped from high flying, high speed aircraft. If my nearby Nimitz-class supercarrier were to launch a squadron of F/A 18 Super Hornet multirole fighters to intercept the Iowa, they could easily disable the warship with a barrage of AGM-65 Maverick radar-guided missiles. Also, the addition of an AWACS E-3 Sentry and an F/A 18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft will lessen the threat of hostile SAM systems, should they be present.

    • @jinyuliu2871
      @jinyuliu2871 Před 2 lety +9

      @Robert Chien Ironically the best way to counter an Iowa in a modern setting is to use submarines. Since modern anti-ship missiles have no chance of punching through the armored citadel. The plan should be to cripple the ship with a mass missile first strike using a fleet of any modern guided-missile destroyer targeting the superstructure, this should disable all missiles and electronics systems added in the 1980s. Hopefully, this first strike also wreaked the funnels and forcing the ship to move at a reduced speed. Finally, send in a submarine to launch half a dozen heavy guided torpedos targeting the keel. This should bypass Iowa's relatively weak torpedo protection and cause uncontrollable flooding which would eventually sink the ship.
