There is a few other Ren x Chinchilla collaborations, there is another live one named "How to be me" which definitely worth reacting to. For Chinchilla, she is a young British artist and her own songs are very different from Ren in style and themes but her collaborations with Ren are a tip of an iceberg of her vocal range and performance skills. Don't ever hide your emotions. I know it sucks crying in front of people. But it shows you're human. We're all broken souls on this spinning ball of mud that's floating through space and we're trying to make sense of this existence we didn't ask to be a part of. Ren and Chinchilla have another live song together but it's a heavy one also. Especially for me because I've lost soon many friends and family to suicide. But the song is called "How to be me" and it's about one of Ren's best friends that at 19 years old in the middle of the night jumped off the bridge where they're singing the song in the video. To this day his body has never been found. So again it's a beautifully sung song but it's very haunting and heavy. Or you could check out Ren and Sam Tompkins. Especially their original song, "Blind Eyed" BUT NOT the official music video. It's not as good as the live version that you can find on a CZcams channel called "Music Crown" it sounds so amazing. I think Ren is one of those storytellers, musicians that reaches on a visceral level. I watch the reactions of others to taste the surprise of them again, but also to get what others bring to this table of life. It makes my heart ache a bit, that someone as deeply receptive and lovely has such resonance with this song. We need the catharsis of art. Love seeing you show emotion, how can you not to this song? The two of them connect in such an amazing way and it really intensifies the feelings you get. I love the scene setting at the start, the little details just add to the anticipation. The flickering lights before panning to Chinchilla sat in the corner is just so cinematic. I think the sad reality is that most of us put on a mask to the outside world in order to fit in and function. There's a great song called 'Samaritans' by 'Idles' which talks (shouts!) about toxic masculinity and the damage wearing that mask can do.
I love this one too. Diazepam and ocean are great too. But his other song with Chinchilla is "how to be me" and its right up there with chalk outlines. As for another artist....maybe check out Nolan Taylor "68" great song

Ren is more referring it to the numb feeling after taking medication and being like a zombie, but it can equally apply to anyone who feels like they're not themselves and feels emotionless or empty inside. Ren gets me so excited about music again. Ren and Chinchilla both have voices that can penetrate my soul. There aren't many artist that can give me that same kind of beauty and vulnerability. Maybe Aurora, but the list is fucking short.
The most common answer when you ask ppl Hi how are you? Is I’m fine I’m ok. Another channel I follow a farming channel of all things does daily vlogs and everyday he asks ppl how are you today and he says answer as a percentage and anyone that answers like less than 75% others in the comments try and help them out or cheer them up. Love seeing you show emotion, how can you not to this song? The two of them connect in such an amazing way and it really intensifies the feelings you get. I love the scene setting at the start, the little details just add to the anticipation. The flickering lights before panning to Chinchilla sat in the corner is just so cinematic. I think the sad reality is that most of us put on a mask to the outside world in order to fit in and function. There's a great song called 'Samaritans' by 'Idles' which talks (shouts!) about toxic masculinity and the damage wearing that mask can do.
I love this one too. Diazepam and ocean are great too. But his other song with Chinchilla is "how to be me" and its right up there with chalk outlines. As for another artist....maybe check out Nolan Taylor "68" great song

I think that there is a metaphorical cliff you’re standing on. If you’re afraid to feel OK because all things change, yes you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. It would be healthier to do what he says in Hi Ren and dance with the light and shadow.

I love your reaction to this song. I still can't watch it without tearing up. When they sing "it's such a perfect day, take it just in case" it really hits home. To me it means everything is great right now, but everything changes so take the tablet just in case. I've been there too many times myself. It's a big order of why this song speaks to me

I’m 55 and I have heard a LOT of music. I like hard stuff and I like soft stuff. If there’s a western English music genre of the last 75 years or so, I’m pretty sure I have a favorite artist from it and know generally what it sounds like. Not tryna brag but to say this is the most beautiful duet I’ve heard probably since Billy Preston and Stevie Wonder’s ex Syreeta doing I’m Born Again in like, …78? 79? Heard songs this beautiful but not a male female duet, nope. It’s REN’s best song imo and chinchilla is a revelation. Released last year but everyone’s finding it this year so I’m calling it the song of 2023.
PS you’re great just how you are. It’s a never ending dance and remember you’re human.

Love your reaction, it's real, like you. And you're spot on with the chalk outline, it's just a shell. Ren is more referring it to the numb feeling after taking medication and being like a zombie, but it can equally apply to anyone who feels like they're not themselves and feels emotionless or empty inside. I am also someone who hates to show emotion and cry in public, even though I know it's not healthy, but it's just hardwired. So I think you're very brave for doing these reactions and posting them when you've reacted emotionally and hope you continue in the same vein. I'm sure I'm not the only one who empathises with you and wishes we could all be a bit braver.

Maybe the word is 'integrated'? We tend to want to get rid of these painful parts and wake up magically healed... But the parts won't go away (he made that clear in Hi, Ren!). I'm still trying to really learn this... And it's still hard. Also: the crying helps us heal. I've been one to try and push that down and all that does is keep us in that 'dead inside' zone). I know how you feel and so do so many people, including Ren and Chinchila. The chalk outline lyrics hit me hard because I often feel a total disconnect like I'm not even there.
