Cool depth and line effect at 6:06, that filter mottled the light perfectly. I agree with you about the AF. One of these days I'll step up :)

Everyone has opinions, but I've ditched Canon and most recently Nikon. If you can pick up a ("cheaper") ZV-1, for example, you'll get used to Sony's interface, decent AF, and spoiled by the good but small sensor. It's easy to get too much camera and not actually take many decent shots. If I had to do it over again, I'd start with any simple/older Sony with the Exmor RS sensor then learn to shoot and make art out of a raw image. Even if you're taking landscape shots, you need to mentally see through the lens and into what the finaly product will look like -- what specifically do you want to convey? Getting good with the art and modest equipment first will sure $ave on useless hardware. I don't do street photography but enjoy studying what this guy shares. He seems to have the vision. To me, that's more important than tech in the creation of art.

All depends on how much money you’re happy to splash and what you’re shooting!
So a couple of things I would think of:
1 are you going to be shooting at night a lot?
2 how much will you utilise extremely shallow depth of field ( blurry backgrounds) ? some styles of shooting like my street shots, portraits and product photography can benefit from this
3 are you going to be shooting a lot of video too?
Now that A7RV is overkill for a first camera even for me!
The reason I got it is because it was an extremely good photography camera but was the one with the best video specs
If you aren’t shooting at night all the time and not super crazy about depth of field like I am, I would recommend an apsc camera
Sony just released the A6700 which pretty much the apsc version of the A7rv and it’s only $2500 aus! Something like that would be an unreal beginner camera or even the a A6400
If you are set on full frame the A7IV and even the A7III are still awesome cameras and worth checking out! Especially to learn on
Remember!! Good lenses are more important for image quality and style than the camera so whatever your budget is make sure you use a good portion of it on lenses
If you’re happy to tell me your budget and what you think you might be interested in shooting, I can put together a setup I think would be best if you like!!!
