You are right in saying this album had a bit of a Slayer rub on them and at the time it was regarded as a "side project" of Dave. Over time and albums Grip Inc. moved into "this is not a side project but a fully realized entity standing on its own merits." They released their last album in 2006. Unfortunately Gus passed away in 2008 by his own hand.
I will be requesting stuff from their later albums later on down the track but I will not be requesting any more from this album so you are free to listen to all of it.

Yeah I found out he passed when I was editing this 😔

Actually this was not regarded as a side project as he had left Slayer in 1992. It was his new band after collaborating with Waldemar Sorychta (one of the most underrated guitarists and producers) in Voodoocult, which was a very impressive project on paper if you look at the names involved but really it's the single Killer Patrol that stands out.
Anyway, I wanted to comment that Gus didn't kill himself, he foolishly and unfortunately mixed alcohol with pills that led to his death. A great loss of a great frontman and lyricist and ultimately led to the abandonment of Grip inc. They had thought of hiring a new frontman (the guy from Amenra in particular) but eventually decided that no Gus, no Grip.
They are one of the bands with a perfect discography as far as I'm concerned, 4 amazing albums. Nemesis and Incorporated being the best imo.
Looking forward to more reactions! At least Rusty Nail and Built to Resist!

Gus's 25 year old son committed suicide a year after his death. Such a sad ending for both.

Hi all you guys, fans of this Channel!! And Hi, my friend Wolf:
I remember just before this album was released, a lot of people thought that Lombardo wanted to make a band for his own show as a drummer (kind of like turning the drum levels all the way up and turning down the sound level of the rest of the instruments in the mix) but they were very wrong, first, because the songs don't work well that way, and second, because Dave surrounded himself with some excellent musicians and you can hear their virtues in each and every one of the songs. There is always a space for the bass and the guitar, which are perfectly noticeable. Lombardo was able to explore new percussion sounds that with Slayer were more difficult to fit, moving between more groove sounds. Years ago, in the 80s, something similar happened with the man who was named the best drummer in the world for a couple of years, Carmine Appice (brother of Vinnie Appice, who was a great drummer for R.J. DIO) when he created the band King Kobra, whose first LP Ready to Strike, I have always considered an underrated piece of heavy metal. Lombardo went further than Carmine, however, who in my opinion failed to bring out enough new nuances in the percussion, which Lombardo did on this album. In some passages he can even remember Sepultura.
Grip Inc’s debut rendered most doubts asunder. Lombardophiles could finally rest easy in the fact that his freakish percussive talents were being put to good use after all. The braintrust of Lombardo and Voodoocult guitarist Waldemar Sorychta would result in one of groove metal’s most beloved records.
The problem with many releases of this type is a sort of blunted sensibility, the tradeoff between virtuosity and power dulled in lackluster riffs, meathead lyrics and shoultalong choruses that sound mostly the same. “Power of Inner Strength” avoids most of the aforementioned flaws. Sure, there’s plenty of rumbling bass, guitars are tuned low, and vocalist Gus Chambers’ ursine yells wouldn’t be mistaken for Kai Hansen anytime soon. But the quality of the songs is tough to deny. Sorychta’s single-guitar undercurrents color the atmosphere with tritones and eastern-sounding modal hoodoo, particularly in trippier, offbeat cuts like “Cleanse the Seed” and “Innate Affliction”. Lyrically, the band mines territory familiar to metal fans (warfare, religious hypocrisy, sexual predation), but three’s an air of clever authenticity as opposed to the mindless bouncing and shouting that plague so many releases of this ilk.
Of course, Lombardo’s drumming is the real X factor behind the album’s staying power. Suffice to say, his distinctive double-bass sorcery and blitzkrieg snare/cymbal attack sound better than ever, particularly in rather Slayer-ish blasters like “Hostage to Heaven” and “Colors of Death”. True to form, he folds in some quirky tribal workouts (“Toque De Muerto”) and double-bass experimentation (“Longest Hate”) without overplaying his hand or wandering into drum clinic territory.
Many fans have asserted that this record eclipses Slayer’s confounding 1994 release “Divine Intervention” and I’m inclined to agree. But more importantly, "Power of Inner Strength" re-established Lombardo’s credibility as a creative sparkplug - the first of many collaborations that would benefit significantly by his one-of-a-kind percussive instincts.
Lyrically it's also very strong, raising awareness about pedophilia (Monster Among Us.), futility of wealth (Hostage to Heaven, Cleanse the Seed), depression (Innate Affliction) or homelessness (Ostracized).

@@WolfKain Thanks, my friend, but it's not perfect review, far from it, it's just what I think and what this album evokes in me. I can be wrong because nobody has the truth about anything. Each of us has his own truth, in this case his opinions (using the word truth to refer to an album is perhaps too much, so we'll leave it to opinion)
I do remember perfectly that Slayer fans were divided, some thought:
      - "How? Dave Lombardo is leaving Slayer? Ok let's see what he does now..."
      Others thought...
      - " Dave Lombardo leaves Slayer? Fuck Dave Lombardo!!"
Were you of the seconds? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
      Big hug from Spain. 🤘✊🤘

@@WolfKain Jajajajajaaaa It's true that we can't listen to all the music that we would like because we would need seven lives. I also don't know, for sure, many bands, even albums by well-known bands, some of which I'm discovering on your two channels. Today audiovisual production overwhelms us, with so many platforms like Netflix, HBO, Amazon... and I don't have the exact data, but I suppose that world music production can double or triple that of audiovisual production. I think there are still many more kids trying to start their rock band in a garage than kids trying to shoot their first short film. But I could be wrong... either way, I'll always put music above everything else.

Rusty Nail, Pathetic Liar, War Between One, Scream at the Sky.
The choice cuts from the next album and maybe their best, Nemesis.
Rusty Nail is just a perfect song.
