    The cost of the intake, injectors if needed, return type fuel system & required regulator, throttle body hassles, gaskets, hoses, burgers tacos and beer = $26 per extra hp/torque or 15+ gain.
    It’s cheaper to just take the rear seat out and spare tire out to get the same gains.

    What about for 2002 trucks, I've heard all you need for DBW is a straight wire adapter. Because they use a different TAC module, pedal and signal to pcm. If so that would be a good harness and computer for a swap like that correct?

It all works great!

    if you go to a 92mm throttle body to match the intake don't forget your now also going to need an intake tube to match that. Intake manifolds have to be the worst dollar to power gain ratio of any modification you can do on a ls, especially when you consider the $1200 fast intakes for like 25 hp gain? Very realistic video Driveway Engineer, hey i'm in the process of the TBSS intake manifold swap on my 04 Tahoe with return style fuel system so i bought the C5 Vette fuel filter/regulator and there is no way that filter can be mounted on the stock fuel rail feed line location because it will end up way too far back in the rail so both hoses ( feed & return ) from the tank will get kinked and smashed against the fire wall and by looking at this picture you got from internet that guy had to modified the fuel rail to instal the filter outlet is closer to the crossover junction so the inlet & return connections are in the stock location and my question 4 you is: do you know who that guy is to ask him or how he did it because it turned out super clean and factory so if you get me in the right direction i'll greatly appreciate it THXXXXX

    • @deankay4434
      @deankay4434 Před 4 lety +1

      @Brad P. There are a couple of videos out there on tricks with Dorman truck intake. The big difference to ask, I where you want your torque to kick in. Long runners means early low end torque, used in trucks, 4L60e has a 3.26:1 ratio, so fast get up and go. Not sure, but TBSS probably has mid-length runner while Corvette, Camero etc. has short runners for 5,500 - 7,000 RPM.
      In short, Air has mass, mass has weight, more if cold or damp. When it travel down a long tube/runner, it’s moving. Intake valve closes and this air stacks up. The pressure increases a little but stacks up. Intake opens and more air (Oxygen) rushes in. Better volumetric efficiency. High speed suffers in this condition so the runners are short & perhaps larger pointed toward the front. The folks at Isuzu, who made the Trooper, Rodeo, Vehi-Cross, etc., used a vacuum control that opened a single shaft the changed the length of the runners by simply opening a row of throttle valves/butterflies down the center at 2,800 RPM. The effect was cool. As you held the pedal still uphill, at 2,800, the vehicle started going faster without moving the pedal.
      The best this would be a large volume plenum and a row of valves that could rotate forward, to create a shorter direct path shorter for mid to high range. Sorry to be long! Just enthusiastically sharing like “Driveway Engineer”. Just helping. Anyone who create a CZcams channel could spend all day to answer everyone’s comments. Hope this helps!
