+Gerwich Saint-Hilaire You mean "designed by great engineers". Virtually anyone can do what is being done in this video or assemble or disassemble an ICE. Your random backyard mechanic has it much tougher than this. All of the parts new engines are assembled with are pre inspected, checked for tolerances, ect. It's a matter of putting brand new parts together with ease. Look at the tools and jigs they are blessed with. Not to discount the true skill of the workers who assemble the engines, i'm sure they are plenty qualified. But the engineers of not only the engines, but the machinery in these assembly rooms, is the impressive part.
+pearlmax youre right. But have you seen how they look at that engine? Theyre building it with soul and passion, to me at least. Youll see something similar only at AMG. These people love what theyre doing, and as far as I know, theyre the best from Nissan.

I am a big American vehicle fan and own several, however the care and craftsmanship that these engine builders show is amazing. There is no wonder these GTR engines are such wonderful running machines! Hats off to these men as they truly care about there craft and legacy!

Very relaxing, especially when they were putting the cam caps and bolts on, oiling the bearings/journals, and installing the timing chain. Had to turn it up when they were gauging the lobe/lifter clearance.

So much perfection in these handbuilt engines, that power outputs vary by as much as 40hp. I'd be pissed if I spent the same as the next guy in line, and got 10% less power!!

The whole video is true masterpiece of ultra-precise craftsmanship & performance; what a beauty. My favourite part however was from 4:15 to 4:42....the engine & downpipe extreme-heat (from RPM) tests.....that's true "UNLEASH THE BEAST" scenario!

In a CVT, there's a drive chain or belt being squeezed and rubbed every millisecond when the car is running. Google CVT failures and you'll see why it is the most hated form of transmission for a car.
Google also seems to say while CVTs are a new technology and have problems it “should last” if you take good care of it
Edit: Also isn’t it “inevitable” that any transmission will fail eventually

+brodofaggins Nah they showed one of the turbos glowing for a second there as well.
+damegabom Yea you saw a turbo and also a cross hay looking piece of the exhaust simply called a Flex pipe but that was for the exhaust for the dyno obviously. but they are pushing this engine way past what it will run at when finally installed into the gtr to see if the engine was built correctly. if any irregularities were involved during the process of building it, the engine dyno would have caught it either it by just simply blowing up or you saw him with his ear and hands next to the vehicle, finding anything that will effect the performance in anyway and they i believe would either scrap it or start over if they found anything. So yes it will get glowing red hot because it they are pushing that engine at such HIGH RPM its making everything so hot! hope this helps

If anyone here has ever lived in Japan, you know how seriously the Japanese take their work. I lived there when I was in the Air Force it did not matter if it was mowing the yard or baking bread. That is what I admired about them.
