ah to hear good old roy harper again - and he was the only famous guy in the sixties who mucked in with every body else - at one party we were both at he stayed up all night telling stories to a little kid who was seriously ill - nobody knew till the next day when the kid asked if that nice man was coming round again - a great guy.
Bruchetta McCorkadale Funny, I was at the Ealing Blues festival last weekend and there was a Bruschetta stall by the main stage among the usual mass of junk food, and had more fun looking at the two staff trying not to look desperate as not a single bruschetta sold in over an hour, than the people shambling around the stage. I know the Italian food has an s, but odd having not come across the word in an age it ups up twice in a couple of days. Shame of course about Roy's impending court case but I'm choosing to ignore it.
yes definitely happened, in fact roy was about the only guy from that time who came to all the invites and that little incident was typical of him - a really nice bloke - cheers, martin.
Yeah i remember the 50p acid !! saw him at nc/le city hall just b4 he had throat problems !! i remember the old record player too mate .. The Days eh ???
@MrNipley I was at that Hyde Park concert too - one of the best! Only time I've heard the Floyd do 'Embryo' live. They just don't happen like that anymore....
Thanks so much for posting this. Heard him sing it twice in one day in 1968 - once at the Floyd free concert in Hyde Park and then again later at an all-nighter in Les Cousins club in Greek Street. Still makes the few remaining hairs on my neck stand up!
@MyCrackerboxPalace Am Dm Am E Am. The riff bit is just the Am pilled off & hammered back on. Chorus goes G, D Am and then some widdly bits. You'lll find 'em!! :o)
Ive only heard the other version, which is slightly sped up, this sounds more like a studio version but the one ive heard sounds more...raw? i dunno its different anyway
roy is only my fave artist... however corny and indelicate that may sound..human, funny real not terribly unlike cobain...wonder if roy had any comments on the latters life and death...??
The greatest lyrics ever written. Far above anything Dylan ever wrote.
