I just looked it up… the Coco delivery robots aren’t AI, they’re remote controlled by employees who are working from home. So in Conan’s fantasy, he’s not actually firing David, he’s just letting David work from home😂

Delivery robots in LA should always say “I love your podcast”, when passing someone.
He wanted to save money by firing David and David talked him into keeping him AND hiring the robot in like 3 seconds.
He has probably read Sona's book.. 😅
It's clear he didn't want to fire him, unless you mean as part of the bit.
Conan is so consistently good at improv that seeing him fail at it for once is equally entertaining.
And even when he fails he's still funny. Sona and Matt make the whole situation so much better, though.
I'm convinced it's because he wanted to make a Mr. Robot reference (to tie it together) but couldn't remember the actors name.

A couple of Canadians created HITCHbot, a hitchhiking robot. It successfully hitchhiked around Canada and a couple of European countries. They tried to get it to hitchhike across the US from Boston to San Francisco. In Philadelphia it was attacked, stripped of its parts and beheaded.

You do understand that the robot had to be excepted by the other side....... delivery apps are using them. An actually person picks up the order, then deliverys the item to said Robot, then the robot cruises to the end address. The customer then walks outside to the robot, presses a code and retrieves said product
