I agree with most of you’re points, but I think you’re overlooking Millennial Actress. The movie's artistry and storyline are amazing. What’s not to like about it
I just thought it was boring
First of all, great channel I have never heard of most the anime you bring up, it's nice to get some new suggestions from someone who I believe is close to my own age.
Now... Some of the things that elevate Bebop and Trust and Betrayal so much is their "vibing". I find it very easy to rewatch them as they have a very steady pacing and allows my neanderthal brain to process what's happening and feel the warmth they're trying to give. I can understand why someone wouldn't enjoy Bebop as a whole, and I totally get why people would consider Trust and Betrayal as boring, but I find some of the reasons you don't like them to be some of the reasons I love them. I don't expect you to ever try to watch Trust and Betrayal again, even my girlfriend doesn't understand. But I just can't concede that i'ts "overrated" or objectively boring. Kinda like how some people like the lyrics in music, others like the instruments when it comes to determining the song quality.
For me i never understood the hype for Guren Lagann. I prefer Gunbuster, Evangelion and Kill la Kill over Guren Lagann, Guren Lagann is just plain, "i have fire inside me and now i will break through the heavens with your drill" type of thing, it gives you this false sense of motivation, that makes most of the problems look easier and simpler , and alsi most of the quotes in this series doesn't even make sense at all, and that second half antagonist was so disappointing. But Simon was the MVP in this show, he grew so much as a character that i can't deny
Next is probably one piece it's so overhyped at this point, i have been caught up to both the anime and the manga and its still not good, its enjoyable at times but is so repetitive that it ruins the experience nuff said
Flcl, oh god man i never liked this anime, like for god sake, it doesn't even make sense and is not even cool to the least but is still considered a classic lol
Jin-roh was also personally not it for me, this movie just drags on and on, it gets boring to the point, that it makes you sleep, it has great animation and all but the characters aren't that good enough to excuse that 2 hrs runtime
Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers both were really frustrating experience, while i think Tokyo Godfathers at least had great characters to entertain you but can't say the same for Paprika, it was just like how i felt when i watched the so called Nolan's masterpiece "inception". I felt so left out cause everyone seemed to love it but i did not
Mushishi would be another pretentious one. It was soothing but it frustrated me for how long it dragged out with the whole episodic sequence

The only flat out bad shows on your list are Code Geass and Post-Band of 7 arc Inuyasha. Code Geass is filled with terrible writing and characters that don't make sense at all, and thr series is largely carried by Lelouch and CC (the only legitimately good characters in that series). Inuyasha was never great but it was at least above average until the band of 7 arc ended then it became bad, and Naraku is one of the worst anime villains ever.
IDK how anyone could call Trust and Betrayal boring. Do you need action to happen 24/7 for you to not get bored lol? Few OVAs have better storytelling, direction and action at all.
Stand Alone Complete is a legit good show and so is the original GITS manga, but I argee that the first movie is the only part of the franchise that's GOAT status.
Besides Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent, Satoshi Kon is pretty overrated.
Studio Ghibli consistently makes good to almost great movies, but Princess Monookei is the only one from them I would consider a masterpiece.
Both Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion have some of the best writing and direction in all of anime, no way in hell are they overrated.
My Hero is not great but its an above average Shonen that gets more right than wrong. One Punch Man is better though.
Trigun is mediocre until like the final 7 episodes.

Wow I actually agree with a lot of this.
I have to agree with the Code Geass take. I love DX's two hour video ranting about how underwhelming it is. I never understood how people call Lelouch a genius when most of his victories are handed to him on a silver platter. Bro got really lucky while Light Yagami had to be very clever to win.
I also agree about the Satoshi Kon movies. Millennium Actress is legitimately a bad movie in my opinion. I don't understand how Kon expected the audience to get emotionally attached to Chiyoko dedicating a large portion of her life chasing an artist she only met for like 10 minutes. It doesn't make any sense no human being would ever do that. The other 3 Kon movies are okay but they are still no where near as good as people say in my opinion.
I also agree about Spirited Away being overrated. Chihiro's character arc is very basic and the first time I watched the movie it completely went over my head what she even learned by the end. She's such a boring main character and the only time we get info into what her life was like before the movie is when we find out that she was upset at moving to a new school. That's why it was so hard to get emotionally attached to her.
I also agree with the Fullmetal Alchemist take to a certain extent but I still quite like it. I haven't seen the 2003 version yet so I might like that one more.
I also never understood the hype surrounding One Punch Man. That show is meant to be a parody of shonen anime and is sort of meant to make fun of shonen tropes. I find that a bit ironic because the show is guilty of doing the things that its making fun of.
I also agree about Attack on Titan. I think the show is decent but I find some of the emotional scenes in the show to be a little forced. Not enough time developing the characters.
I also don't really like Neon Genesis because its super pretentious in my opinion. I respect the attention of detail put into the show, but I don't think a show needs to be watched multiple times to understand it.
I also agree with the Cowboy Bebop take. I feel like Spikes character is a bit bland if we are talking about him from a storytelling perspective. He's super cool looking yes, but when it comes to his motivations I feel like its a bit lazy for the writers to just say that "he can't get over his past." We are barely given details of what that even means. Spike can't move on with his life and all we get to see is a 2 minute montage going over what his past was like. How am I supposed to sympathize with that lol.
I haven't seen a lot of the other shows and movies you talked about, but I surprisingly only disagree with the Trigun take. I actually think that Trigun is a bit underrated, mainly because it is overshadowed by Cowboy Bebop.
Oof all these takes are fightin' words fersure but at least you have variety and are more open-minded compared to most modern anime fans with just spouting out the same old newer Shonen animes in some of those hot take videos that often come out from people. In terms of certain things you've said just wanted to give my thoughts on em; Geass especially with how stupid the Euphemia scene is, surpringly what you said about Inuyasha can also go for the same as the 90s Sailor Moon because man I've been watching it recently and parts of it don't age well, since we talking about 80s Cyberpunk like BGC being overrated then honestly we can lump Akira in the same boat as well, 2010s DEFINITELY with how MHA is just Sky High and Mugen Train being one of the most overrated anime films ever made, I couldn't get into GitS so I think that's well deserved in the category, Trigun and Bebop I strongly disagree on as I found Vash to be interesting and Bebop feeling something different compared to other shows, do gotta give you mad props for showing love for Outlaw Star because man that show is a bit underrated. Anyway despite our differences, I really enjoyed your thoughts on this topic so great vid and sorry for the long as comment.
I could never get into panty and stocking love the art style but it tries way too hard to be funny and I like gainax/studio trigger and raunchy humor but come never get into it tried 5 times

in my opinion re:zero is overrated man i see people seem to just all agree that that was a good show but me i hated it i dont know why but it just pisses me off so much 😂
