So true everything that was said. You don't have to be rich to look decent and not skanky, or is the new term, dusty? Just some basic common sense goes a long way. This TikToker is saying what needs to be said. Another pet peeve: the new trend of unkempt hair. Way back when, people who wore an afro actually combed it; picked and brushed and groomed. Now people are supposedly rocking their curls but the majority of this rocking looks unkempt, like you rolled out bed and forgot to comb your hair. Black people have curly hair but it's not the kind you can wake up, shake it out and go. A lot of women and men who call themselves rocking their natural curls would look far less dusty if they just wore the standard afro if they didn't want to resort to any chemical treatment, hot rollers, or hot comb. Dreadlocks and some braids can look dusty too to the point of looking not clean. I can't fathom why the bonnet has become so popular. Why would anyone think it okay to wear this (or house slippers) out in public I just don't know. And pajama pants have taken an evil hold on every demographic - young, old, black, white, brown, men, women. It's ridiculous. They may be comfortable but you can find comfortable clothes that aren't pajamas. As for leggings: these should be worn with a top than covers your rear end. And thank you TikToker for mentioning pants dragging the ground that need to be hemmed. I see work colleagues with the latest smartphone, the latest smart TV, etc. but they can't scrape together 20 bucks to get their pants hemmed. I'm surprised they haven't tripped over these pants dragging the ground. Also thumbs up for calling out bra straps showing. This is a major pet peeve of mine; can people not afford a strapless bra? It looks so trashy. If you can't afford the proper bra, don't buy these spaghetti or other narrow strapped tops and dresses where you bra is showing. So glad for this video. The naysayers can whine about body positivity, things more important than looks, etc. but not looking crazy, skanky, whatever makes a big difference in how you are treated and how others in your demographic as a whole are treated.
