@@norpriest521 I have no experience about the Chinese people from Mainland China, but, as I heard from many people including my professor, most of the older generation of Mainland Chinese had very little experiences about the culture of other countries since they lived in the period when China was a closed country "Bamboo Curtain" as some Western Countries called, so they don't know how to behave properly when they are abroad. And, since they lived in the period when China was still poor, so they had to "be the first" to get anything unless they might get nothing. This behavior still exist in some old Mainland Chinese as you may hear that they are always not in the line for buying goods. The younger generation grew up in the period when China becomes economic superpower and very rich and they learn many things about other countries from the internet, so they can behave more properly than the older generation.

It’s kind of depressing how most of these people think tourists come only for the sex industry but I’m sure Thailand in general has more to offer. Tourism is great for the economy but tourists should be respectful of the locals, nature, culture, etc.
But at the same time, tourism can bring destruction to the local ecosystem when tourists think they can throw garbage, plastic and other indecomposable materials into the ocean. It only takes a few individuals to ruin for the thousands. Anyways, I wish they didn’t generalize tourists as being desperate sex addicts

This video obviously is not intended to diss tourists, or you. And Thais do love tourists. We love people who come here to learn new things and be open-minded. Just try to watch the video again. I'm one of them. I mean, you can go to prostitute all you want, you only have to know who's the prostitute. And knows that Thais are people too. A lot of things keep drawing me back to Thailand, I said many trips ago that it would be my last time and now I’m headed back in a few months. It’s the perfect place to start travelling from, flights are cheap into Bangkok and cheap out if you want to go to neighbouring countries. I find Thai food to be wonderful as there are so many choices (even as a vegan) the fruit is unbelievable also. Thai people are extremely sweet and caring though sometimes I wish they would say what they are thinking instead of being polite. If you want to go to the tourist spots and meet people who are wearing elephant pants and just want to party you can! Or... you can go visit some islands that don’t get many tourists, ride the local bus, explore, volunteer somewhere, maybe go on a free mediation retreat and learn about Buddhism. There is so much to be done in Thailand and I am forever thankful for being able to get a visa on arrival. As one of the first places i ever travelled solo, Thailand will always have a place in my heart 🙏🏼

I have been to Thailand before and I loved it! It is true that Chinese citizens have a very bad reputation as tourists among Thai people. My Thai friends say that Chinese people born after the Cultural Revolution tend to be impolite, but I am not sure. I have met a Chinese guy and a Chinese couple when I was in Phuket and they were friendly. Maybe it is just a negative stereotype.
I will not lie, one of my many interests in Thailand are boys. Of course I was not there to look specifically for sex, but I intended to meet Thai gay boys to hang out and I did that. But, being honest, men were not the thing that I most liked there. I think Thai food comes first (Tom Yam is better than any Thai boy I have met), Thai temples and historical sites comes in second. Finally, closing the top 3, Thai boys.

Phuket attracts more individual travelers (smaller groups typically below 5) which could be why they're more well behaved. The large groups come with a mob mentality and are probably out of their country for their first or very few times. I don't know about the part whereby those born after the cultural revolution are more impolite since the ones I've personally told off for misbehaving in Thailand are the older "aunties & uncles".

As someone who lived among the Thai for a year back in 2012, I would return in a heartbeat, if given the chance. Not because of "the usual" things, but because it felt like my home. The people, the culture (my very second day in-country was SongKran), the food, and the way people just smile so much. Sure, I was there in a missionary capacity, but I feel like I could go back as a tourist and still make friends, even easier I think, and have a helluva time there.
I will always say that Thailand has what you seek, no matter what that thing is.

That's a lot of different people from different cultures with different ages and histories and mannerisms and different things they want out of a trip to a foreign country. Some want sex, some want Thai massages, some want to try staying at a nice hotel for $50, some want to see what everyone else is talking about, some want to retire there, some want to get medical procedures, some want to see the Buddhist temples, some want to try the food, some want to visit friends, some just have nothing better to do, etc.

One of the interviewees said that he didn't feel good that Thailand was known for sex tourism/prostitution and that it would be better if the country was know for culture, art, or its traditional dance. The closing line of most Asian Boss videos is "Stay curious." I'm curious as to what Thai people think about what it means to be Thai. I think other people who wish to come to Thailand should be curious about the identity of the Thai people. They should think about the question, "What does it mean to be Thai?" and seek education and/or experiences to be like the local people.

It is true sex tourism exists in the country, and many go there, and other countries like Philipines for same. But most tourists I encounter go for other reasons. Thailand has a great reputation, at least among Western nations, for friendly people, awesome culture, shopping opportunities, fantastic food, low costs, beautiful scenery and natural scenic locations such as parks, beaches, etc. I love the people and food. Since then we were afraid in Bangkok to take a cab, only took public traffic like the boat shuttle, metro. Maybe I was lucky in Thailand and everything was fine. I shared my good holiday experiences to turken friend when I was told in Turkey, Thailand is a symbol which is connected to the sex tourism. I'm a European living permanently in Thailand for over a year now. Thailand has no winters, so it's sunny and palmy all year round, which is great coming from Europe for example. Thai people are very polite, modest and always happy to help. They value family and friendship and stick together. I can not say the same about Europeans. The variety of food is superb, I gave up European food completely, it's amazing! My thai girlfriend is an amazing cook, which brings me to my next point. Many Thai women are hard working and modest. They are not misguided by feminism like in the East. They make excellent wives. Thais are very open minded, so if you are gay for example and struggle with self-expression in your country, in Thailand you can be who you are, people won't judge you for that. Just look at all the ladyboys on TV lol. Thailand is also not ruled by big companies and is more lax with laws. There are countless street food shops all around. People just sell their food out of their houses! You can get great food for cheap. Amazing! Thailand has beautiful beaches and sceneries, a strong and fascinating culture and much much more. Yes, we have beautiful women and a buzzing nightlife too, you can find cheap booze and sex but saying that prostitution is the only thing that is worthwhile visiting here is just wrong. I neither drink nor visit prostitutes (being 99% honest ;) and while Thailand certainly has it's drawbacks (no Amazon!) it's a cozy place to spend your life in.

Why Thailand: Decent, friendly people; amazing food; amazing scenery; great weather; rich culture. I’m sure there’s much more but that’s what I think of initially. Vive la Thaïlande !

I've been to Bangkok around 20 years ago. It reminds me of my home, Manila. There are noticeably more foreigners there. I've even seen a number of what seems to be Africans looking like street merchants. You don't see that in Manila.
Food is the one thing that's memorable from the place. Possibly the best foreign cuisine I've tasted. The tamarind is to die for. And their street cuisine is probably the best out there.
The locals look attractive. Mostly a mix of Chinese and Malay ethnicity.
The city isn't that much of a show-off city like Hong Kong is. It's more like Manila, but cleaner and with better infrastructure.

Exactly. You can't go outside of any casino in Vegas without someone handing you a card with nearly naked woman on it with a number for escort services. The San Fernando valley in California is the porn capital of the world. Somehow then the US isn't then thought of as a giant brothel whereas Thailand is. I don't get it. There is sex work everywhere in the world. Hell, the US made the very internet upon which serves up billions of dollars of sex industry content every year. What gives?

I'm half german and half thai. I really hate how people make fun of Asian people, by saying they're "all the same". It's not like that. Asia is the biggest and most diverse continent of the world.

I don't think it's bad to come to Thailand for sex. The problem is that the people who come to Thailand for sex are usually disrespectful and think they can do whatever they want. That is the problem.

Thai food is the best. The people are great, the country is beautiful, the scuba is sweet, the weather is terrific, and everything is cheap. Prostitution (Pattaya) isn't even on my list.
