Eminem is telling Busta to calm down because of his crazy ass energy and Busta is telling Eminem to calm down with his crazy ass lyrics. Haha. Thanks for doing this again Stevie.
Yessss this is it ..I thought the same when I heard it
yea but stevie has a bias to busta so he thinks its only lyrics vs lyrics here but thats not a fair fight lol
EM had some good bars, but he got washed in this song! Superman vs Dooms day! LOL!
@@creationmuse2313 even stevie said you cant say em got washed lol... you can say busta sounded better but thats IT, em washed him lyrically tho
@@creationmuse2313 also "some good bars" is downplaying em hard
Busta doesn't even need to spit fire. His voice is pure fire by itself.

facts
You could say he has voice privilege
The wild part is that they BOTH referring to each other to CALM DOWN!!! Straight FIRE because at each in his own way brought real smoke !!
The "I'm lit" verse was a double entendre because of the obvious omelet reference, but it also made reference to the 'This is your brain on drugs' commercial showing an egg frying in a pan. Eminem has a gift no other rapper has and that is why he is the GOAT.
Busta had the energy, Em had the bars. Two Goats
they coulda made a sick collaboration album
Sums them up for all time.
@@samueld5418 so true but then again a kendrick / busta album would be fire too
Busta's bars were CRAZY!!!

Busta had you feelin it in your body and Em got you in the mind. Busta will have the slight edge as long as this delivery still gets you hyped but Em will have the edge when you listen to it intellectually. The tie is breaks depending on the mood you go into listening to it. Either which way
Probably the best and most compelling explanation on here. You’re so right.
I would love to hear their original verses to see how much they had to push themselves. Love busta
I was thinking the same thing
I would watch a 3 hour documentary on that shit at 3am
I’m pretty sure those are the original verses. You can tell the difference in the verses. Specifically look at the fact busta had 2 verses but in the song he had 1. Now take in consideration that the over all tone and energy swapped before ems verse came up. I believe this is because they kept their original verses and added to them rather then rewriting it entirely. Or perhaps busta ditched the second verse to add to the verse starting at “What in the fat fish of a phenomenal (fuck ever that word was) fuck” till the courses which is where he added and Incase you forgot or thought there wasn’t going to be one (probably telling em hey bro we cant keep doing this).

I personally give Em the edge but yeah it is a great conversation regardless. Bus gets your body working, Em gets your brain working
Great combo of body & brain
Exactly!
I don't agree..
This is the first time I've heard Em lose on a track..
Remember he had almost two months to out his verses down (he had the last go on the track when they were making it,) and he couldn't outdo Busta.
That's a body bag right there.
But they both went CRAZY on the track.
@@lifechild777 I disagree but I respect that take. I think Em came with more outlandish bars but Bus came with better energy
That’s a great description.
Mans after listening to this again and catching a lot more of what Em was saying. I gotta honestly say at first I gave it to Busta Rhymes because he killed it but this was a draw. They both brought it 100% the booth was on fire after they both finished their verses. I mean they brought the beat alive for this, killed it, buried it, dug it up, revived it, and then killed it again all in less than 6 minutes!!!😨😱😨 Crazy, this song will forever go down in history as one of the hardest hitters ever. From the beat, to the verses, and all the way down to the mixes, the artwork I mean it had it all. Oh and I can't forget the incredible story of how the song came to be. Straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!
This is one of those tracks where regardless of how you feel about who did better, you're not wrong. They both brought it all on this one and it's just a matter of which one of them resonated with you more because it's that close. Neither one bodied the other on any one thing, but Busta did certain things better than Em and Em did certain things better than Busta. Either way, this was just a dope track of two hip-hop titans going at it collaboratively on a track.
I think that’s what gets misconstrued when we all watch or hear about how it happened
When Bus said it’s “blueprint”/“masterclass”/“case study”
I think a lot of us forget it’s for anyone to ever go too and realize what these pen pushers can make happen , for rest of time ♾
Cuz we all get caught up n the sportsmanship of it when they actually were doing it in more of a pure sense , which also nobody points out they both shout out each other cuz it’s not like they’re battling, they’re battling as an example/metaphor to teach us
It's like two super heroes battling. Each got special skills on their own. To me it's classic. I would love for them two to keep that going
You do realize that EM went second and you felt calm by the end of the track right? Busta had crazy hype energy that Em had to calm you down off of. Thus the point of the track. Feel amped then calm down! Busta made you want to break the planet like a mad volcano to the point Em had to step in and calm you down like waves on the ocean after a raging storm.
Damn. I never looked at it that way
@@benitocastillo6829 I think a lot of people are reaching a lot of times. I get it but I highly doubt that’s what em was trying to do. Considering he was high energy as well he probly couldn’t keep it up as long as busta. It’s just a weird coincidence is basically what I’m tryin to say.
@@finniganmcasscrackin373 agree. Appreciate dudes creative persepctive but you can't say it as fact. By all
Accounts the point was to go wild. Em stopped and rewrote his verse to "match bustahs energy" according to bustah those were ems exact words. So I think they were both trying to go wild
You just broke my mind!
@@finniganmcasscrackin373 🎯
I just love Ems wordplay and keeping a scheme thru a verse for so long
I love how Em pulls out that classic Slim Shady for his verse, even pitching his voice up, that was the coolest shit when this and MMLP2 came out imo
As far as Busta yeah his presence is POWERFUL, always has been. Dude just goes raw and powerful
21:23 "I changed the complexion in the game" talking about his skin complexion but he literally changes the complexion of the rap game because of his massive impact.
“This ain’t *up* for debate it’s undebatable”at this point I’m not even suprised🔥🔥

Haha Em took this one
@@user-uq9dc8cr3c *up* for debate-undebatable/underbatable
Em's verse was more complex and lyrical but Busta's verse sounded better to the ear
Facts. Like Em’s verse was 100% better, but I enjoy listening to Busta’s more
I'll go with Busta on this one
That political scheme in ems verse was insane though
( Abraham Lincoln / F the whole Party / Running for class clown / The right candidate /. Rich Democrat / run a campaign / Shady for president / This is not up for debate)
COME ON
Busta had the bigger energy though
maybe the first time but em‘s verse is satisfying as fuck
I feel the opposite for some reason lol. It’s hard to listen to busta’s verse with so much going on. But that’s just me.
BUSTA and EM seem like they have the same personality traits.
I feel like so many people miss the bar "Act my goddamn age? I am-eight!"
He's referring to how many albums he's released since his debut at the time. While also talking about how childish or care-free he might be with his rhymes sometimes.
Great work as always, Stevie! Big fan.
Shaking your head at the I'm lit/omelette bar is the appropriate reaction.
Also, that "bi waving a nine" rhyme scheme with the internal scheme is CRAZY.
But he didn't catch that, I can tell.
Oh nvm.
@@wedontagelikemilktho.6633 ya I caught that..💯😁
EM - "I just don't feel like I'm matching your energy yet" BARS Him and Busta are monsters on tracks
I listen to this song soooo often, I’ll never get over how hard Em FORCED Busta to go. Like, he made Busta scrap multiple verses before we got this one. Come on bruh! That’s TUFF!!
Also, the Ad-libs do it for me man. “A la la la” 🔥🔥
Every single thing EM says can be linked. Whether it's historically, politically or factually. This what makes him one of the most influential rappers to me. Reminds me of Public Enemy. That maybe before most people time. Lol 🥰🥰just saying.
this album art is underrated
Facts and I have always wondered if Em drew it
If Stevie was a professor, i'd be in class everyday. On some teachers pet shit lmaooo. 😀👍😂

This is such a well done work of art. The whole concept, lyrics. As a comic fan I love how the cover art even reflects that contrast of the two’s unique superpowers. Flip Mode’s da squad!
One of the most authentic reactors. It’s refreshing to see a reactor who’s not afraid to be honest. I’m a huge Em fan and I agree with everything Stevie said. Never lose that authenticity bro
em is so much more than just hip hop
he basically has no limits
I love how the artwork even shows em and Busta fighting. Like two supers in lyrical battle with each other. The artwork has bars.
what i love with em is... he always make reactor like him.. change face and give up for a moment to recollect them self while have to go through their word to explain.. while i have a stupid grin on my face
i want a new COLLAB from these two MONSTERS AGAIN!!
Dissecting this to me Busta’s voice was tailor made for this so he sounds WAY better. But if you were to go by lyrics Em edges him out in my opinion.
Slim shady voice in general doesn't go together with Busta
I'm a massive fan of both for many years, Em being my number one but I thought busta took this one, both versus are 🔥 though.. probably the only song em has featured on with the last verse that he hasn't bodied it & made it his song
@@phillwilkinson8319 Nah
@@Milkers777 each to their own bud that's the great thing about music.. I just thought it suited busta better.. normally I'm a bar fanatic but on this one I loved the energy & smashmouth style of busta a little more.. em had a great verse though
@@phillwilkinson8319 I think Busta's voice fit the track better but my ears were begging for mercy as his verse got chaotic and the delivery became grating. Em's had more variety and a refined style to it that shifted beautifully to different patterns and flows, but didn't touch the bombastic highs of Busta's verse. The complexity ofc was next level.
There is only one person who could of ever met Busta’s energy and that was ODB

its a perfect song, Bustas energy and flow with Em's bars. Two of my top 5 going crazy back and forth. I agree with Stevie's decision, Busta edged it through energy but his bars weren't a touch on Em's. But sometimes it isnt just the bars, you need both.
Had to come back watch again that “Self-esteem” bar blew Stevie’s mind facts haha
I’m so happy you did this one again, you caught so much more big dog 😂
its cool to see a second reaction, pretty much nobody is catching all of these bars the first time listening

@@patrickbateman1631 and people STILL try to say he’s garbage. Like HOW?!🤦🏽😂
I think he was also referencing the song “jump around” itself since they sampled from that track. He had just come off the jump around bars. Also, I don’t know think he was taking a shot at everlast in this. They squashed their beef by this point, and I don’t think he would be dumb or disrespectful enough to diss an artist while sampling their song.
@THEANSWER it seems obvious but I have to listen more.. I have to go back and make sure I'm commenting facts... Jeeez this is Crazy. 😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯
I always crack up when Stevie is on a roll and then Em spits some crazy shit and Stevie gets that deflated look, like 'oh fuck not again with this shit.'
Both are in my Top 3 of all time. I think sometimes, we just have to admit that in a song, you just need to appreciate what both have brought to the song cuz no one really out did the other.
😂😂😂😂 "🎙daaadididididaaa! daaadididididaaa!" Your imitation of songs cadences are golden!!!
I always laugh when he brings out the morse code but I love it, that's how you know someone snapped
Stevie knight is the man when it comes to these clips
Buster is so underrated he's on a next level, ferocious with his bars fr, both are in my favourites but I give this to Buster for the rawness💯😎
I LOVE that you are willing to revisit tracks to hear them with new understanding!! ♥♥♥
The silent pause and stare after hearing Em start lol
I agree Stevie, Em was sticking to the theme of the song, busta definitely came the opposite way but I have to say Em's probably got the most mind blowing bars in the game, one of my favorite Em bars is a battle rap bar he used at the rap Olympics "You couldn't make a crowd throw up they hands if they swallowed their fingers" think about it
@@Dennis-gn1nq ha
This is one of the reasons I follow SK, U appreciate the realistic breakdown of these verses. The feeling of a song is unexplainable, the mix of lyrics, beat and enery sometimes just bleds its self to perfection. Great breakdown as usual!!!
I love Eminem and Busta, these two are the best rappers to grace our ears. Busta is a beast, he still got that old school flow.
Had me thinkin they brought out a second one haha
Exactly...me too

Love busta's aggression ,but I preferred em's verse more cause' of his smooth flow and of course his bars are just untouchable.
I love Em and always have he's a lyricist like no other. But Busta served the young buck. Proving why he was and still is A Leader of The New School. Period.
Two monsters all good at what they do. Great reaction Stevie.
Its a 7 years old song. Totally different EM than we have now,his pen game went over 9000 since then,he is in another league. It would be interesting to see another collab.
I always loved them both..and imagined what would be like if Eminem had Busta's voice 😆

Just lose it with bus's voice 😮
In any rap battle it's the next person's job as a rapper to make you forget the energy you just received. Eminem did that, all that head bouncing we did with Busta came to a oh shit with Em. CLASSIC BATTLE ❤️♥️❤️❤️
It was a calm down record and that’s why he did his calm down vibe. That’s why.

I still think Em had the better verse, but Busta is a beast and Em only edged it by a ball hair, in my opinion.
Em definitely got torched as far as delivery and impact, but his wordplay is unmatched. A lot of his wordplay didn't match the title of the song either. The title was calm down.

This song just oozes what hip hop is supposed to be and is why I have these two on my Mount Rushmore of hip hop
The entire song is like a workout for the mind:

Busta was the 1st hip hop artist I ever heard. Back in 97 when disaster strikes dropped, that opened the whole world of the rap genre to me and set the bar, no pun intended.
One person touches and surpasses Busta in Energy. HIS NAME IS DMX

I'm sorry but dmx has never been close to the level of Busta
What? Lol. No.
You’re comparing two completely different artists solely by the fact that they both yell. No.😂😂😂
He’s talking about energy. Nobody said X is more technical than Busta. But we talking energy? Yeah, X takes it.
Eminem said once in a song : " Bus the Rhymes " that haminems can't be done by Busta tho 😁. If you want energy : take a look on ' Shady 15 ' from Shady 15 album
That narrow minded line made my mind blow like nothing has ever done, I mean we all went through English literature class trying to breakdown some poem that we weren't interested in at all. I am totally logged into eminem and yet i couldn't understand that line for the last 20 times i have heard that song.
