Now known as the Dragon Warrior, Po (Chawalit Simankhongtham) protects the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. However, a dangerous villain threatens Po's awesome new life with plans to use a secret weapon to wipe out the martial art and conquer China. In order to defeat the new enemy, Po finds he must recall his past and unlock secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he find the strength to vanquish his foe.

After Angelina Jolie finished recording the line, "Your dad? The goose.", she had to take 20 minutes to calm down because she was laughing so hard
It's amazing how this movie can make a peacock of all animals so scary. I've always considered Lord Shen the closest thing DreamWorks has to Scar, one of Disney's best villain. He's cold, calculating, his past directly ties in with the protagonist's, and there's so much depth to his character, plus Gary Oldman's performance is impeccable. I also love Po's struggle to find his true self and inner peace, and that "Po Finds the Truth" sequence in the panda village is so beautiful, yet so heartbreaking.
I know, this one is by far my favorite in the franchise, can't wait for the 4th one.
Yeah who knew dreamworks known for making also funniest scenes in kung fu panda but also can make animals and their normal adaptations and powers like mantises,snakes,tortoises,leopards, cranes,rhinos,peacocks,gorillas, porcupines,bears,boars,anoas, iguanas,elephants and now chameleons into dangerous self defence!

Also Gary Oldman (Shen) and Jeremy Irons (Scar) have both played a DC character Commissioner Gordon (Gary) & Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy) although not in the same Francois as each other.
The scene when Po discovers his childhood village and how his mother gave her life to save his is very emotional. You can feel the weight of it all from the characters, the dramatic colors of the sequence, right down to the score of Hans Zimmer. Gets me every time, that’s how incredible that scene is.

Here's a fun fact for you 2 timothee. In the flashback when po puts pieces together, we can see his dad hit a wolf in the left eye and that wolf is the same one who commanded the wolf army (aka the one who got killed by shen for not shooting at his own troops in the final battle)
Fun fact: the wolves army were supposed to to be in the first film as part of tai lung’s criminal gang but were scrapped and later reused the idea for lord shen instead in this one.
Fun detail: Shen died because, when fighting Po, he cut ropes and made a cannon fall onto him. Shen is a skilled warrior. Shen is also black and white. The old sheep lady was right both literally and figuratively.

Also Lord Shen is one of the best antagonists Po has ever faced, merely because he’s inadvertently aided in Po’s growth as a character.
That’s the great thing about villains like Lord Shen, as they can bring out the greatest qualities out of the hero and make them discover their hidden potential.

This is the most emotional part. I cry every time when I see a scene where Po's mom hides him, and then calls troops and sacrifice herself. 😢
Did anyone get teary eyes when they showed every flashback of Po’s family, it gets me every single time and I’m always ugly crying.
The second is always my favorite in certain movie franchises. Love the more emotional tone revolving Po's backstory, Gary Oldman performance as Shen and musical score.
I actually did cry when I was 9 years old in 2013, but I do enjoy this movie. It's such a masterpiece.
One of the best Kung fu panda films I’ve seen when younger, it’s awesome how we get to see Poe’s past and learn a bit about his past and it’s done in an emotional well done way. 😎❤🥺 I love how this movie was more more serious than the last one. Not many movies can be this series yet still be kids friendly 🤓❤😎
God the flashback of po's past still gets me choked up to this day. The score the accompanies the scene is just so good, dang it hans zimmern gets me every time.

KF2 is my most favorite movie from KF trilogy, Po vs Shen felt real personal and we get to know more about Tigress and other furious five. Btw do watch the KF Legend of Awesomeness series that happens in between the events of KF2 and KF3, many cool back stories and lores.

This is my favorite Kung Fu Panda movie. I know exactly how Po feels. I am also adopted. I'm from Colombia. My mother was only sixteen years old when she gave birth to me. I was left in an orphanage and adopted by a swedish couple, and grew up in Sweden. I don't know my biological parents. I wish i could find inner peace just like Po. 😭💔

Fun fact and i wish alot of movies shows did this more but if you listen to the first fight where the wolfs were stealing the metal from the village if you listen the combat is apart attuned with the music which is soooo cool and i just love the movies quote, your story may not had a happy beginning but that doesn't make you who you are, it is the rest of your story, who you choose to be

I really really enjoyed watching Kung Fu Panda 2 with you guys. It’s a great sequel and my favorite from the entire trilogy and one of the best sequels to any movie. I like the idea of how the storytellers are so to the point, direct and efficient with their ideas, themes and characters as they took the themes of the last movie and showed how Po discovers who he is regarding his past and finding inner peace. Gary Oldman did a fantastic job playing the antagonist “Lord Shen” as he’s one of my favorite villains in any animated movie, definitely top three. Loved your reaction, take care, stay healthy, enjoy life and have a great one❤️🔥
This sequel is so amazing and scary and emotional as well. I loved seeing all the characters again and loved that you get to see more of Po’s story and background. Lord Shen was quite possibly the most scariest but really cool villain ever because I like his fighting style and he was the reason Po became an orphan because he killed most of the Pandas and it is sad that his mother sacrifices herself for him 😢 but at least he found a new home with his adopted Father ❤️ and loved that at end of the movie you see his real Dad is still alive 😊 Once again all the fights were amazing including the end battle 👍 and loved that they still kept the humor 😄 great reaction you two 😉 On with the third one ❤️❤️

But Kung fu panda 2 is my favorite in the series because of how it handles dark themes of genasied and treame
Plus I love the friendship between po and the Furious Five it's so cute especially if you remember how uncool thay were to him

Lord shen is my favorite kung fu panda villain
This is definitely a great sequel to a great movie. There’s actually a story behind this back in 2011 though. You see, the same day this movie was released, The Hangover Part II was released. And apparently at the box office The Hangover Part II made more money than this movie, even though that movie was actually received terribly. Thankfully at the end of the day, Kung Fu Panda 2 was WAAAYY better than The Hangover 2.
Remember how long it took po and the furious five to get to shen? Shifu gets there in the time between po getting hit by the canon, and po rescuing the five

If I'm not mistaken, Kung Fu Panda 2 was the 1st video that I ever watched from u back in 2021
23:27 the crazy thing is that if you just watch the movies, the strongest characters in the franchise are oogway, Kai, tai lung, shifu, and Tigris, in that order, but in the shows, which are canon, po is stronger than all of them
I remember seeing this film with my dad in cinema back in 2011 when I was 8 and we ain't on good terms now so hits a bit more closer to home than I'd like ti admit but it's still my favourite outta the 3! Can't wait to see what yous thought of it!

I've seen Kung Fu Panda 2 many times and it never stops being this good. DreamWorks had a lot of balls with this sequel.
I actually appreciate Dreamworks for going harder on their storytelling, especially for KFP2. I’m glad they kept the comedic moments from the first film and turned the serious dial to a seven or higher.
