"She can't be the Dragon Warrior, she's too small" - when that's like (nonsensically) The Chameleon's whole motivation
Which is odd when you have Mantis, Shifu, and other master's that are her height or smaller 🤔.
Yeah not to mention Master Squirrel who they referenced in this movie. It made no sense unfortunately.
Just like Po when it was said he couldn't be the Dragon Warrior because he was a big fat panda. The difference is that Po didn't give up because of the humiliations and trained harder to develop his skills to prove that he could be a great Kung Fu Warrior with the advices of Oogway and his father, but the Chameleon threw the towel right after she was mockered and instead of improving herself in the kung fu by training hard and change everyone's mind about her, she decided to use unorthodox methods like sorcery to achieve the kung fu skills by the easy way, which was to steal them from others.
Sigh.
Shifu was willing to train Mantis AFTER Mantis proved that he could fight. He was turned away at first too. And Mantis getting trained doesn't mean all the kung fu teachers in China were willing to train small animals.
And also, that was not the Chameleon's whole motivation. Her size was only ONE of the reasons she was turned away.

She's the one who's always been Side by Po and be supportive and had so much training all these year... Giving out a Tittle that Po earned from 3 movies finding inner peace and who he truly is.... Let's hope that the next film in the Kung Fu Panda franchise will resume the style that made the second film great. It is mentioned that a spin off film focusing on the Furious 5 is being planned. I personally didn't think the fourth film was bad, I just feel that they could have done it better if the direction had not been completely controlled by Mike Mitchell, instead they should have paid more attention to Co-Director Stefany's suggestions.

Initially they were going to have Shifu get captured by the Chameleon so that Po had a better motive to go after her. In addition, there was going to be a scene where Tai Lung and Shifu have a final moment of reconciliation together 🤔.

You call this movie horrible?! seriouslly? Like sure it's not the standards of the previous film, but at least it is a better movie than what it was originally supposed to be! Do you know what it was before we got this? Here is the answer and fun fact about the original scrapped idea for this movie: IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN LIVE-ACTION/ANIMATION HYBRID WITH LIVE-ACTION HUMANS! (yeah, I'm not Kidding!)

Copyright must be really hammering y'all, cause y'all skipped over so much and have the images blurred on the side 🤣 🤣.
I personally think this movie is fine but could have been better. They always planned on making six movies and so this was not necessarily a cash grab. However, it does feel like it was made by committee and as a product rather than someone who had vison for how to continue the story, and when you read about the productions issues this had and the ideas they were going to do, you can see how that is the case 🤔.
Also, people's dislike comes from: the five not being there, the villain could have had a better motive or backstory, the past villains like Shen and Kai bowing to Po at the end felt a little out of character (especially since they couldn't give them lines), and having more emphasis on the silly comedy and getting away from the dark or dramatic storytelling that made first two film work so well 🤔.
Again I think this film is decent with plenty of fun moments, creative visuals and fight scenes, and all the jokes for the most part work, but it clearly had the potential to be even better than that with it's story. So I hope the 5th one turns it around 🤔.

KFP 4 overall is a solid 5/10. Only redeeming quality was Jack Blacks performance as Po, music and as well Tai lungs return. But the bad outweighs the good. The villain was awful, most boring and uninteresting character motivation and as well as The new Dragon warrior. Shifu retiring Po from his literal purpose so early and whilst the movie fixates on destiny, it’s literally a choice made by shifu. It’s underwhelming and narrative wise dumb. The lack of choreography and unfunny children jokes. The ending as well, Kai was literally erased to nothing yet ofc he’s there. Shen would never bow. Po doesn’t need the staff as well, he had already mastered chi and defeated Kai without it . Everything was just mediocre.

imagine if the first thing tai lung did was bust out like a bad ass and take control of himself like how toji did from jjk and then he rushes to the jade palace and rushes towards shifu and the red panda is scared its his doom but tai lung hugs him and apologizes for everything and then they have a father and son moment and put the past behind and after po defeats the Chameleon tai lung starts fading away and shifu begs him to stay

I'm ngl, I was let down by this movie and how predictable it was. Jack Black was great as usual, but this definitely felt like a cash grab sequel rather than one that justified it's existence.

I’m sorry but to me they messed it up. Awkwafina can be good but here she’s playing an extremely cliche character with a story you can predict from the beginning and her performance is lacking and dull. Chameleon is not a good antagonist. The animation seems cheaper too, the budget obviously got cut because they didn’t have the Five, Kai and Shen speak. Po’s character development is repetitive and the movie is generally not that funny. It was such a disappointment.
Well, to me, I think this was decent. Awkwafina did a good job with her part in some parts, but I can understand why the backlash against her when it comes to her inclusion in recent animated movies.

i disagree, i think 4 is better than 3 and maybe even 1 which is prob controversial. i do agree that no furious 5 development kinda sucks but 4 made po feel actually strong instead of him just belly bouncing tai lung or having his panda family beat kai. i think this movie still has good messages like the other movies and the action is just more entertaining. also seeing po mature was cool. imo this movie makes po FEEL like a proper dragon warrior and was a solid wrap up to the king fu panda we know.

Im in disagreement with most peoples low opinions on this. In my opinion This movie while I agree is animated poorly in comparison and needed better voice actors, was a better movie then the 3rd. I feel like the message of the 4th is repetetive of the 3rd, but it felt more finite with Po no longer being the Dragon Warrior. Something that we have had 3 movies and 2 shows about. I also feel like The Chameleon was a better villain than kai simply because she wasn't Po's Villain. She was the Fox's. Something that drove home at the very end of the movie where Po demonstrated that he could easily defeat her without much effort. If i had to rate it i would say 7/10. They just need to fix their budget. Cause fr not seeing the furious five the entire movie hurt.
