    This is day 196 of my journey to get to a rating of 2000 on chess.com.
    In this game I played a Jobava into a pirc and got into a bit of trouble, although I could have come out of the opening a lot cleaner, the middle game we came back, but then I lost my advantage to a blunder. Overall I'm happy to have played this game and won't be falling into those same mistakes in the future! Time to push further up and further in!
    So far on the series:
    140 wins 14 draws 115 losses

    Have you checked out the Austrian Attack against the Pirc.? It’s an aggressive way to play preparing for kingside attack which considering you play the Dutch with black might appeal.

      I haven't but I'm gonna look it up now!! Thanks!!

    That was a really useful one to watch, cheers Blunderman. Couple of questions, that checkmate trap with the rook amd knight, is it worth trying it every time? If he castles you seem to lose position advantage. Also, whats the difference in the kings indian and the pirc defence?

    • @Blunder_Man
      @Blunder_Man  Před 4 dny +1

      I think it's still good for white after the castle, but I'm going to start playing a slightly different line against pirc setups. I think it's better to not play hope chess and hope that they fall into a trap, I'd rather learn some solid lines that work every time.
      The kings Indian and pirc are exactly the same setup for black, the difference is White's moves. I believe the Kings Indian is only when white plays c4 to start, but I never play c4, so I'm almost always playing against a pirc, but yes, same moves for black

    Hi, I just started following your content and just wanted to say how much I enjoy it. I like the way you explain your thought processes. I wish I could calculate like you. I'm trying to place your accent, where are you from?

      Ah welcome to the channel brother! Great to meet new people! I'm glad the algorithm is bringing in new chess enthusiasts haha! I was born in England, grew up in Northern Ireland, went to high school in the States for a while, lived in South Korea with a bunch of South African friends for 5 years and so yeah... my accent is the biggest mush up between all of those that can possibly happen... Not really sure which it's closest, but maybe that explains it haha
