    Thank you for this informative video! Tosiwo Nakayama or “中山 利雄” is my great great grand uncle who died from old age and along with health conditions back around 2007. He left a mark on the politics of the 4 states of Micronesia (F.S.M) . Keep up with the videos man 👏 I’m glad I subscribed to your CZcams channel!

      Your great great grand uncle was an incredible man and a very inspirational figure to all Pacific islanders. He is one of my favorite figures in Micronesia and as you said he absolutely left his mark on the politics of the 4 states of Micronesia! Glad to have you as a subscriber!

      I love your explanations and how well you communicated so everyone could follow you. Si Yuus Maase Pulan! I remember in the 70's when Guam attempted to bring up the subject of Guam's future and the issue of statehood or independence.

    This video is so informative about an often overlooked part of history. The implications reach much farther than Micronesia and still continue today. Please keep up your good work with these educational videos!

    Another great job in distilling a complicated and relatively obscure piece of history into such a succinct explanation all while appropriately highlighting key details! Pulan has spoken! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Nicely done and straight to the point. This is a good one since alot of our founding generation is almost gone and the young ones will need an easy and digestible way to learn this, especially the ones born and raised abroad. You're awesome dude! Glad I found another creator from our part of the ocean 👏🏾

    • @pulanspeaks
      @pulanspeaks  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you! I originally planned to do a long detailed 40 minute video with a lot of nuance, but I decided against it for exactly the reasons you listed: young ones will need an easy and digestible content. I’m glad you noticed that and that your another creator from our ocean!

    Hi! Very interesting your video! I would like to know, in your opinion, what is the most iconic place/image in the capital (Palikir)? I'm doing research and needed to know which part of the city is most representative. For example, in Paris, we have the Eiffel Tower, in Rio de Janeiro, the Corcovado, with Christ the Redeemers. What would be the meaningful equivalent of Palikir? What image comes to your mind when you think of Palikir?

    Why did Palau and the Marshall Islands not want to be unified?

    • @Debsmia
      @Debsmia Před 2 lety +1

      Because us Marshallese and Palauan wanted our country to have their own separate independence than to join the FSM so both country can make individual choices for their country that would be best for their people rather than as a whole with other nations.

    A lesson can be learnt from the Marianas. If you vote for colonisation, you're voting for your culture to be destroyed. Look at the percentage of CHamoru/Ralfuwash speakersin the Marianas today, and look at the rest of Micronesia.
