I'm a massive Abba fan and this track is one of my particular favourites. I had fun recording both parts to this song original sung by the gorgeous Agnetha and Anni-Frid. Really hope you enjoy my cover!

Years ago my friends thought it was funny that I loved this song, and I gave them a good chuckle when I'd clap and try to dance and sing along like an idiot! Even their babies laughed! Spread the joy right. Hearing you sing this song is the *real joy!* 🙂
Must have heard Dancing Queen a thousand times, but the one time I remember most was in 1980 on an overnight ferry to Gothenburg, Sweden, and they played it in the ''nightclub'' on board the boat! As ever, it got everyone up dancing! OMG, I wish I could go back to those times!

Abba is such an amazing group, with an awesome library of music. This is one of their best, and you sounded amazing covering it. I will listen to this often.
Many years ago a rock critic in New Orleans thought ABBA were being treated unfairly for being pilloried constantly as "commercial". He said that ABBA possessed a musical ability which the critics,especially the musicians among them lacked,namely a sense of melody,an attribute sorely overlooked in many rock/pop circles of the day. Sarah, with your lovely cover of "Dancing Queen", you have helped to prove my critic friend right.

In this case I was 8 and I remember attending a July 4th parade in our small town. It was our country's bicentennial anniversary (1976). I can still remember when ABBA was on fire with not only their songs but also their unique style of dress. The positive energy they had during live performances was contagious; no Milli Vanilli trickery was going on. *BTW - I Do Like Their Music However*

I'm a huge ABBA fan, too. Unfortunately DQ is one of the most overplayed songs of all time. (Fernando probably comes in second.) But it's probably the only one for which there is a karaoke recording, especially given the music industry's bias against the group. Regardless, everything Sarah does is great.

A couple weekends ago I saw a local band here in SoCal USA performing ABBA songs outside on a nice evening to a virus-limited small audience of maybe 30. I was just out picking up pizza and there they were, outside another business in a group of stores. And I thought, Sarah should be here singing! :) They were singing the songs really nicely, too.
When are you going to get a "Frida" to sing the songs with you, virtually? Or maybe the real Frida, herself! Ha ha! :)
