    Thank you for your details video! I would like to ask my F1 first rotation is pediatrics without night shift, and second rotation is geriatrics with night shift. Will it be too early if I plan to take the MRCS exam in January 2023?

      @KittyWongHF  Před 2 lety +1

      There’s no universal “right” time to sit the exam, I know colleagues who sat it in September after just starting F1 and equally others who do it much later in their careers as an SHO. At the end of the day it’s whether you feel prepared or not. Personally I would just add a caveat that during the first 4 months of F1 most people will just be trying to get used to a working life which can be very different from med school, and it may be more difficult to study than you think compared to whilst you’re a student. Back when I started I was feeling very knackered at the end of the day for at least the first two months and really struggled to do anything outside of work including hobbies until I slowly adjusted. Just something to keep in mind!

    Hi,
    Would you recommend any books for MRCS Part A Paper 2?
    Thank you.

    • @KittyWongHF
      @KittyWongHF  Před rokem

      Personally for paper 2 I found the question banks alone sufficient, just make sure you read around the topic either using the question bank resources or any reputable online source. The Pastest books are available to cover “everything” but I didn’t use them.

    Kindly let me know about neuroanatomy head and neck portion of anatomy from teachmeanatomy.we have to memorise this all including cranial nerves???

    • @KittyWongHF
      @KittyWongHF  Před 10 měsíci

      Cranial nerves come up often especially the bigger ones eg trigeminal / facial / glossopharyngeal etc, common to get questions on innervation and path of the cranial nerve so yes you need to know it

      @@KittyWongHF and dr wong what about whole neuroanatomy??

    • @KittyWongHF
      @KittyWongHF  Před 10 měsíci

      @@shafaatgoraya9089 Yes you need to know it, like the ventricles / venous drainage / arterial supply etc. Head and neck also contains a lot of high yield areas that often come up in questions. Tbh you just need to be familiar with all of it for part A, as I said teachmeanatomy is a good level of knowledge required for all areas of the body.
