This is absolutely one of my favorite area themes in a video game ever probably. There's such a feeling of relaxation but also excitement for what's to come in the adventure. It's always fun hearing a song in a game and being moved so much that I'm already thinking of how I'm going to cover it.
For this cover I started playing around with some post-rock/metal feel things, I think in the end it just ended up sounding like an old school FamilyJules7x cover with the metal turnaround halfway through, but I wanted a sense that it was coming with all the layers being added throughout the first half. It was fun seeing just how much I could keep adding to it before it got so crazy.
This one was pretty experimental for me, but I hope you like it regardless. It's a truly magical song. Hope you guys still like all the Octopath covers since there's much more to come!

Every time I hear the opening of this song, I think it's going to somehow morph into Schala's Theme.
It’s too bad the story and the overall structure of Octopath is so bad. The soundtrack alone deserved a MUCH better and more epic game to be able to tie these amazingly poignant compositions to great dramatic story moments
The stories weren't bad. I, and many others, loved each stories. It was just disappointing that there was no real connection between each of them other than relating to the finale. The structure however is considered bad due to how many one shot combinations there are, such as making Cyrus boost a little and still doing over 7k per magical attack, or Tressa's Sidestep with that one advanced job that I won't say to avoid spoilers but those who do know understand what I mean. If you play through the game without doing a breaking strategy & actually think about how deep some of the story is, it's honest to Brand a great game.
One awesome thing since Octo's release is seeing not only what characters resonate with each player but what music everyone connects with. Really moving cover my man!

It has your traditional style of having a quieter/relaxing first half of the song, and then it breaks out into the awesomness that is FamilyJules.

I fell in love with this entirely by the end when you transitioned from your heavier play back to a slow, acoustic cadence.

@@StewNWT the story is certainly not lacking, at least in my opinion, as long as you go for the true ending. If you don't get the true ending, then sure the game's story may seem sub-par due to how disconnected all the individual stories may seem, however the true ending ties all the loose ends together in a memorable and satisfying way. When I first experienced that part of the story, it was one of the best feelings I have ever felt playing a video game as if I had just discovered the secret to an ancient civilisation - to the point where I made a game of Dungeons and Dragons (a tabletop rpg) where the plot is heavily inspired from Octopath Traveler.

This is one of my favorite tracks from the OST, and I'm absolutely crying with how beautiful this is! At first, I was thinking, "this is no metal cover!" but was blown away at the half way mark. This just got so much more emotional. I'm totally thinking that Alfyn's secondary instrument is the electric guitar (primary being saxophone).

All these Octopath Traveler covers are making me so happy, and each one is just perfect. Alfyn was the last person I got to (since I started off with Therion and went clockwise to get the others), but I was so happy to hear this song in-game, and it's just so perfectly fitting in every way. Your cover absolutely does the song justice, and I absolutely love it.

Of all of the Octopath songs, this was one that I least expected to work as a metal ballad. I was thinking, "Battle songs? Definitely. 'Those Who Govern Reason?' Hell to the yes. 'Riverlands?' ...Probably not." But DAMN, was I wrong. This is an absolutely amazing cover. You have outdone yourself. I love how it starts and ends with that repeated C on the acoustic. It gives the cover a cohesive feel. The metal breakdown is freaking awesome. Yeah, you added in some little riffs here and there for extra flair, but they don't detract from the original; I think they add to it, personally. All in all, this is an epic cover. Well done.
