    I do custom work and kitbashes myself but damn you used some pretty expensive sought after figures to do some of these. Part of me is like ahhhhhh!!!!! But the other part is full of respect because it shows how much you dig these action figures and how much it's about having fun with them, not putting them away in storage just waiting for them to appreciate in value a few bucks. It also shows how too many companies waste their dc license, not giving us figures that absolutely nail it, well at least in all plastic form. If only last rites batman from the icons line had been 6.5 inches. I would've bought at least 10 of them when the price bottomed out for a while (before it went back up) for repaints and customs with some light sculpting added. Batman and superman, the most important dc(and arguably the most important comic book characters in general) of all time seem to be the ones that they never quite nail. The last superman figure I bought from any company(aside from hot toys) that I didn't have to do anything to was from Mattel's multiverse dark knight returns wave though I did recently add a tony mei custom suit and cape to one of my extras to go with my mezco one:12 batman figures and took the head from another one to use with a repainted joker body from the same line for a Clark Kent figure. Grabbed the glasses off of a Gordon figure I found for 6 bucks at GameStop. Looks amazing.

      I hear ya. Batman and Superman have never quite been nailed down proper yet. That’s why customizers and kitbashers exist. Doing what we feel the toy/collectible companies failed to do. That’s why over the years I shelled out so much cash for those light blue Superman figures. The first one costed me $255 but I said to myself “do I want it or not because these will never hit retail”. It’s dedication to the characters. I think we both share the same passion.

    Hello,
    I am new to your channel, I love the reviews and custom work that you do especially with Batman!! 👍👍
    I would love to see some videos where you actually show us the audience how you do it, from popping off the head sculpt, to adding the cape and duty belt. That would be interesting I know to a lot of us superhero fans.
    I do custom paint work myself, a lot of times it's painting my figures and giving them that bloody look like they've been in a fist fight frenzy. I love your channel. And I love your custom work!
    Lord knows, you can't have enough action figures that's for sure!!👍😊

    Thanks for sharing your kitbash projects! It's a really interesting part of having figures and customizing them to your liking! It's encouraging to see someone else experiment so that it's easier to attempt myself!

    Cool. You should make a Long Halloween style Batman.

    Some time, I think I'm going to probably have to cave and make a custom Beast Boy/Changeling or two, since he's weirdly underserved considering what a consistently used character he is in comics and now TV. I'm mostly just dreading the painting that'd be involved.

    Your work is awesome. Thanks for sharing with us! I do have one question if u get time to read this. I'm going to be working on some 6" Batman figures soon, and being the old man I am, I'm going to use the symbol with the yellow oval. I don't have a printer, so do you know where I could get scaled decals for the logo? My hands aren't as steady as they used to be so unless you have a trade secret on how to paint it on, I'm trying to find decals, but no luck so far. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    You know, I think the mask of the first one having black on it originally worked out in your benefit, as what's left of it has left your figure with rather nice looking black shading around the eyes to help bring out the details a bit. Was that intentional on your part, or just a happy accident?

    • @BradTheDCUniverseGeek
      @BradTheDCUniverseGeek  Před 6 lety +3

      I left all the black around the eyes on purpose, yes. Years ago when I first started removing the black from DCUC Batman figs I removed the black all the way to the eyes and it looked odd. Always left it ever since. You’re right about it being to my benefit. It I tried to paint around the eyes I would cock it up for sure. Lol.

  • @theunstoppableguidonaut961

    I see you do a lot of DC Direct heads on Mattel bodies.. is it usually an easy swap or do you have to do a fair amount of dremeling?? If so I’d love to see a dremel tutorial from you! Great video and customs!

    Hi Brad.Trying to exchange heads on 2 DC Direct Figures : 1- Crisis On Infinite Earth Classic Batman and put the Justice league of America (2009) Single release Batman on its place. Are the DC direct easy fixes or they require advanced techniques???Thanks.

    Brad, I see that you repainted the New 52 Batman to that shiny silver.
    I want to do the opposite and dull the metallic paint on the Public Enemies Superman variant. Just to keep that blue without the metallic sheen. Is that even possible to do and if so, what would you use?
