Very Similar but The Great Escaper was the better film in my opinion

The Great Escaper was way better than Last Rifleman. Pierce Brosnans ‘aging’ makeup wasn’t convincing and it didn’t have the emotional impact that Great Escaper had. The combination of Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson was just perfect.
