    I have met someone who was like this and it was horrible. I didn't know that he would do that to me for his own needs and pleasure. He was just too good pretending to be different from his real personality and true colors.
    I've been used, manipulated, and emotionally abused. For the past few months I got to know him, but it just got worst. To the point I completely lost myself in the process trying to save someone. He just loves gaining my sympathy for him to have complete control over my emotion. I'm like a prisoner.
    In the end, when I got a chance to escape with that toxic relationship, I realized how much I was used. I knew I didn't deserve to be treated like that. I know I deserve much better. :')
    For the people who experience this toxic and manipulative behaviors of others, you deserve much better! Know your worth, Stay strong! 💕
    You don't need someone's validation to know your value. 💯✨

      I’m glad you got away and are doing by better now but I have a question as I think I’m unfortunately am going through the same thing as you in my life now.
      I ask because I feel the same way about this person I’m with & that I’m trying to help him and needs someone to help support him. For the most part I feel like I’m only with him now so he has someone to take all his frustration and anger out on (meaning just saying mean or hurtful things-nothing physical ever) and it’s like that always but every now & then between those times he’ll always apologize to me for acting like that while he’s in a bad mood and will also say how much of a good person and helpful I am to him and that he’s grateful for me being there for him.
      And other times when I try to tell him what he says to me that I take personally and hurtful, he always changes it around to what I do to him that hurts him and will never acknowledge what I’m saying.
      Did you deal with that too? Is that a similar trait of people like this?

    • @fmstr7510
      @fmstr7510 Před 3 lety +2

      I am so sorry to hear that. I also had to deal with that too, unfortunately. I don't know what to do during that time because there are times he is in a good mood and sometimes not. It gets me very confusing on how I should feel and should do. I spend so much time and energy trying to predict how he would behave and it creates a lot of anxiety and confusion. But because I was so determined to help and support him. Little did I know he was just using me, so that he would be satisfied with his own needs and desires. He also knows how to make you feel guilty for not doing as much as he does to you and that hurts because I know for myself that I do what I can, to the point that I started to lose my self and question my sanity to just support and understand what he was going through. It got me so exhausting and too toxic to deal with.
      This is really hard to deal with especially when you as a person is empathetic, senstitive (in a good way) and understanding towards others.

    • @breath888
      @breath888 Před 3 lety +4

      When these people are at a malignant level (secretly destroying your life, abusers, stalkers, rapists, murderers, polygamists, molesters, corrupting children, etc), I would say I feel nothing when they die. But that's not true because I have empathy. But when they are killed or maimed enough not to hurt others, all I can feel is relief that the next person won't have to suffer. And yes, I've met these dead-eyed individuals more than once. Their behaviour is mind-boggling (and depressing) because you just can't imagine doing the things they do.
      It's the worst when they represent traits of all four and can't get better because they know what they are, enjoy it, and admit they're not interested in changing. The malignant ones are a destructive force roaming free on Earth. They put the word 'monster' to shame. No joke. If you know a Dirty John type, run, and change your name if needed. Take self protection classes. And remember, any tool can be a weapon (keep forks and knives and bats within reach) ;-)

    • @breath888
      @breath888 Před 3 lety +3

      Mace, machetes, Exacto pens, box cutters, bear spray, and a molotov ready to go wouldn't hurt either. Yeah, some people are THAT level! If you keep allowing them back into your life, then learn how to act and know how you're going to use every weapon. Rehearse it in your head and stay ready. Try to get them out of your life or put major distance between you. Felons can't follow you out of the country (as a last resort). Know that a piece of paper won't protect you (PPOs). If they're wealthy, good fkn luck! If you laugh at these posts, great, it means you have never met the worst of these. Ignorance truly is bliss.

    I used to be friends with a dark tetrad. It feels weird starting the story like this but I feel like I need to tell someone (even if I'm about 8 months late). This is also only one example.
    A few years ago, I had severe anorexia (I'm fine now, I'm also not going to talk about it much because it's hard). But when I was trying to get help, he would do anything to not help me. All my other friends were really supportive and helpful, he wasn't. You see, before anyone knew, when he didn't bring food, I'd give him mine (I only brought food in the first place because my mum would notice if I didn't). At first I thought he genuinely forgot, but when I was trying to eat more, I realised he would purposely bring no food so I'd feel guilty if I didn't give him mine. Me and my friends already knew he was kind of a d**k, but I knew I had to cut him out of my life to properly heal.
    That's it. That's the story, it felt good getting that off my chest. :)

When I genuinely dislike someone I like to see them in pain, and their failure is funny to me. It feels like watching Karma in actually. Kinda like a “you got what you deserved”. But I also can’t stand when anyone I don’t know or people I like cry, are hurt, are struggling, and I quite often go out of my way to help if I can. Unless I don’t like them/hate them. It can also be a matter of validating lack of empathy. For example, I might justify to myself why I don't have to help others because they annoy me. I will enjoy my time relaxing while everyone is struggling. I don't know about sociopaths yet but if you're struggling in understanding the point of moral codes, you could just think about it as how humans should be. If you deviate from it, it doesn't mean you're broken or something is wrong with you. We just all want to be happy and free. Idk I've gone too far from my main point lol.

    I remember when I was a child, I was very manipulative especially to my friends. I realised now that I lack of empathy that's why I don't take my friends feelings into account whenever I take advantage of them. I truly regret doing these things to them and I really want to apologise for it after the whole pandemic is over, even though the "connection" we had is already gone. Now that I'm slowly getting to know new people, I'm afraid I'll manipulate them again or they'll know how I lack of empathy. I always push myself to not do these things but sometimes I'm not aware of I was doing or saying, and I'm afraid it would take me another 5 years to realise I've wronged them just like others did. I don't know if I can trust myself again to my friends. This video really helped me reevaluate my actions and take more precautions to what I do or say in the future.

    Why would Machiavellism be a negative personality thing? As long as you are not harmful while being a good strategy maker, or have that defense mechanism is not a bad thing per se. Some people have that tool, yet are empathetic, calculating kind people who seek out to help others in a non-interested manner and do not seek to obtain something out of the other person. It is just a tool to use to your advantage in an adverse situation or against actual harmful people.

    People do not easily respect someone when it's clear that they've been "handed things" in life.
    We naturally root for the underdog, at times of empathy and love. If the underdog has shown great efforts and it's clear they're deserving, we want them to have what they want because it's been earned with honesty and is well-deserved - in other words, sometimes there is just a "clear winner."
    Also, in order to have empathy, I recently learned/realized that you must have first hand experience with the struggle. Empathy is different than sympathy in that when you empathize, you know because you have experienced it and you share that same pain with another human. There is an instant bond with empathy and the more brutal and difficult the struggle, the more empathy you can have for someone.
    Sympathy is when you feel sorry for someone, but it's not pity. Pity has a bad connotation. However, sympathy is still kind - "I can't relate, but I can only imagine what you're going through is difficult." In order to have sympathy, we go to the most difficult thing we've ever dealt with. Then we think, "If it's even anything close to that, I have sympathy for that person." We use our own pain to relate to others. When you have a common struggle with someone, there's always a connection. Kind people seek out hurt people to help them.
    We respect people the most when they make something out of nothing.
    If someone is handed something and they do something wonderful and helpful to those in need with it, that's the most loving and kind thing to do. Some (far from all) medical professionals, civil rights activists and charity workers are good examples of this. People can't help that they're born into something; the key is how to use what you have to help those in need (#blm!).
    If the person who has been "handed things," however, takes those things (money, power, control, intelligence, etc.) only to gain more of those things, that seems to be pure selfishness; and that's where things can, and often do, go horribly wrong.
    The person often uses their intelligence only to manipulate and experiment at the expense of others. And to what end? This is the definition of pure hate, evil and moral corruption.
    I can't help but think of #cultleaders #keithreniere #davidmiscavidge #inhumanity #humanexperimentation #trump #hitler

Sometimes, it took a moment to realize it after the fact. Oddly, however, the one exception I have to this is the fact that I believe and know these behaviors are wrong, and feel like I am an objectively bad person as a result of it. The part of this which worries me is that it’s a set of personality traits, and I can’t just change my personality on a whim. I’ve always been stuck, hating the person I am, that being driven by the fact that it’s objectively a bad person to be. The only time I have a thought sympathetic of others is that I’m a bad person for others.

But the difference comes when I don't use what I have in my dark side to gain anything. I know I can be very manipulative but I don't use that trait of me at all. It's not like that always. When I was younger I know instances where I was a bit toxic and I thank everything that it wasn't enough to hurt anyone. But I at least learnt that bit of me and learnt to control and change myself.
